Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I just came back and encountered an interesting problem. I am attempting to RNG a flawless Porygon on Diamond. My problem is that I landed on a frame of 6, and I verified it a number of times, so I do my journal flip to 8 and verified it a number of times. I then hit my second and delay twice, both times I landed on frame 7 after the flip somehow? What is happening that I'm only going to odd frames when I hit my second and delay? Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Not much to say there but blame the RNG movements I suppose. Resave when you see that the two cowgirls and pachirisu doesn't move and retry it again on that save, lol.

Oh boy. I am so happy!!! I was finally able to successfully RNG my first Pokemon.

It is a Jolly Groudon with 31/31/31/0/31/31 for its stats!!!

It took me about 3 hours to successfully hit the 1567 delay though >_<

If I want to encounter a Girafarig that appears in the morning, what will be it's encounter slot in Pokemon Platinum? Is it 0, 8 or 10?

EDIT: Nevermind, I caught it.

@Shady: Don't use Time Finder for legendary spreads. It's slow and has a very limited window it searches. I suggest using either PokeRNG or JavaRNG (both are on the front page). Both are fast and can help find a spread you want alot faster.

Question #1.
With my first attempt at calibrating for RNG abuse in Pearl, I got the following

Seconds: 14, 14, 14, 15, 14, 14, 15, 14
Delay: 634, 623, 628, 626, 620, 624, 632, 624

Now, I know that I was never going to get it really accurate, but those seem a bit random to me. Don't you think?

Question #2.
So with those weird results in mind, I thought I might as well try again. I've decided to use an Action Replay this time round to speed everything up (checking IVs etc.) but I don't know whether spamming the [A] button after hitting START on my AR will be the same, or if it will work at all.

Anybody know what would/should happen?

Thanks in advance. :)

Is there a reason why, when I go into Seed finder, I type in the IVs and nature, I want and it gives me a couple, with the first being, I believe 511108D2 as my seed.

Yet, when I go into the front of program, type the seed in and click generate, they don't have the same IV spread as it claims to have in Seed Finder.

Well, those are pretty good results for calibrating. The normal seconds for D/P is 14 so the 15's were when you weren't jamming the A button fast enough. And the Delays are pretty good considering a Delay is advanced by around 60 every second so most of those are close enough to be within 1/8 or so of a second.

I don't know the answer to the AR question.

You need to find the frame that your IVs are suppose to occur at. Also, if you are using a synch pokemon you need to put that in the RNGreporter.

It didn't say I needed a synch pokemon.

And where do I type in the frame or whatever in the front of the program?

To be honest, the seed in Seed finder, under the 511108D2 one, I entered into the front of the program and it showed my IVs spread. So that is what confused me.

Wis3On3, The AR adds to your usual seconds, so I hope you were using it when you calibrated, and using the AR while doing RNG is fine. The only thing that changes, really, is your usual seconds.

chi-zusaki - Hm, well my results are a lot more consistent now, just a bit more calibrating to go. :)

Riski - I am currently calibrating with the AR, so if all goes well I'll be able to breed some pretty snazzy Pokemon. :D

You can't, just scroll down or type in the IV specifics to find frames with those IVs.

And the seed finder gives all possibilities assuming you're using a synch. You'll have to check if it's actually available without a synch.

Oh. Okay, that is one more thing I didn't know, or didn't hear in Bearfan's video. So yeah, I guess I have to go to the second one. As it seems like it doesn't need a Synch.

Ok. I have an odd question.

When the second timer begins counting down, do I have to be consistent in how fast I get to the continue screen or does it matter?

For instance, lets say that I have 30 seconds on the second timer and the timer has just begun to count down. Normally it takes me 14 seconds to get from my AR into my game, that is when I am mashing the a button. Do I need to mash the a button every time? Or can I just leisurely get to the continue screen and wait for the timer?

You can take your time, but I'd recommend going to the screen that allows you to hit "Continue" and waiting there until the timer runs out. Then, hit "A" as soon as the timer reaches zero to hopefully hit your desired delay

Yeah...I can hit my delay, well sort of. I have only been able to do it twice so far. I just get some random results sometimes so I was wondering. But it is good to know that I don't have to be consistent with that side of things at least. Right now I am constantly either below by two or above by two on my delay. This delay, 1007, is taunting me!!!
