Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

No, lol, I'm talking about CPs. My SID/ID combo gave me some good shiny spreads, but with high frame numbers. So I was asking how much the Radio advances the frame b, and if there's any way to check what frame I'm on. :]

well with the responses you get from elm
Just scroll down the list everytime you call him :)
Err, in the RNG reporter lol

Catching shinies is exactly the same as catching Pokémon with high IVs. There just happen to be a strange relationship between your ID, SID, and their PID. And moving the radio down to the bottom right until you see text will advance the frame by 1, so long as Buena's Password isn't playing, no matter how long the text is there.

Ok. So, what's the fastest way to advance your frame when trying to complete a Capture project? If I'm going to hit 200+ I'd like to do that ASAP, since I'm not very good at keeping track of things :P

If you're not very sure of how well you can count your frame advancements, I'd confirm your seed, then advance with the radio until you're around 5-10 away, and then call Elm for the rest of the advances to make sure the Elm calls correspond.

Best way I've found for keeping track of frame advancements is to have a calculator out, do 10 frame advancements, add 10 to the calculator, then repeat. That way you're never counting more than 10 at a time, and you don't have to worry about messing up your count. It also works if you're incredibly sleep deprived.

Use this so you don't have to tap several hundred times. It finds shiny PIDs on low frames and gives you a seed. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully so you don't end up screaming in rage.

And the best thing to do when you miss your seed is to see what delay you actually hit. Compare the coin flips to the adjacent results in the RNG reporter, and see if you're hitting the same delay each time. If that's the case, then adjust the years on your DS (the higher the year, the lower the delay and vice versa) so the delay is that of what you usually hit.

Well after finding my initial seed, I match the target delay with mine, I even change the years. I manage to get it right twice but the RNG advance was messed up somehow. But ever since then I can't hit the right seed. And how would comparing the coin flips help?

I'm unsure of where you're going wrong. Are you unable to hit your delay or is it another problem?

Uiru: Any value in between I think. You can't predict it - you have to use it in conjunction with elm calls to verify where you're at :)

Yeah! That seems like a great way, thanks. So, does calling Youngster Joey advance the frame by 2? Because I call Youngster Joey when I'm RNGing for a shiny egg and need to get to a certain frame (Like, from 1 to 3), so I was wondering if that would also work for CPs.

It should, yes. Just make sure it's not the day that he wants to battle (Monday I think). To be honest though, the radio and Elm are better options :)

A few questions:

1. Is there any easy way to get parents with good IVs for breeding? I'm trying to breed a Snorlax with a Slowpoke (for Curse) but the thing is they have pretty crappy IVs (only one flawless IV in a stat I want). I wouldn't mind breeding for more but it's such a pain to check for IVs, especially at such a low level. I do have access to WiFi but only have one DS with me

2. Are there any OU Pokemon that don't need egg moves and are easy to RNG? I'm kind of fed up with breeding at the moment. I RNG'd Bill's Eevee and prefer that method so much more, but so many OU Pokemon have egg moves that are vital to their movesets :/

well, you could try using a ditto after you get a Male snorlax with curse :)
But yes, good parents save you a lot of headaches :)

Instructions for installing and running RNG Reporter on Intel Macs

1) Download and install Mono for Mac OSX (note: you will need administrative privileges to install Mono).

2) Download RNG Reporter. Unpack the contents of the RNG Reporter .zip file onto your Desktop.

4) Download the RNG Reporter Mac supplement .zip file, attached to this post. Unpack the contents onto your Desktop

DOUBLE-CHECK: The files RNGReporter.exe, RNGReporter.exe.config MUST be directly on your Desktop, not contained within a folder on the Desktop. The RNG Reporter Mac supplement can actually be run from any location, but the Desktop is preferred.

5) Double-click the RNG Reporter icon. (Not the icon with the .exe extension.)

ok when i click on the icon it gives me this message
sh: mono: command not found

For the different spreads already shown in the Emerald RNG guide, that show their frames, could I just pick up the pokemon I want by that spread when the frame hits that number, no SID or anything required? (for method 1)

Don't bother using the helper. Also, from the looks of it, you don't have Mono installed completely.

I'd reinstall it, and this time instead of using the helper program, just open up Terminal and type "mono " then drag the RNG reporter program into Terminal. That's how I open it.

The SID is only ever needed for shinies. The SID has no influence on IVs whatsoever. And yeah, that's exactly how you do it. Except the IVs are set after you hit A when the Daycare Man says "Take good care of it." so you should be waiting at that screen with your timer going.

sorry what is the helper program? i jus clicked the link and a blank page opened and it got downloaded

Well, I'm fairly certain the helper program (what you downloaded) is just a Terminal command. Make sure you have Mono and follow the directions and it'll work just fine.

And quick question - Manaphy is generated via Method 1, right? If so, would it be possible to RNG abuse it on a gamecart to match one of the shiny spreads of another gamecart, then trade it over and hatch it shiny?

Correct on both accounts.

Okay, so I should just set my timer for 6 minutes and .013 seconds (that has the frame I want) and interact with the legendary I want (in my case Registeel) when that time has been reached? and that'll give me the spread I want?

On a seed where the desired spread appears multiple times(ex: Frame 32, 34, 36, ect), will they all yield the same wild Pokemon? Like, say if I'm headbutting trees, and I get the wanted IV spread, but the Pokemon is a Hoothoot rather than Pineco, will all of those spreads always yield Hoothoots? I know the Nature, Gender, and IVs are always the same for all the frames sharing the same spread, but do they also share the same Pokemon?
