Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Does pages that have traded info on them count as catching? I'm trying to abuse an egg, but I need to do 2 flips, and I've got 2 pages w/ trade info on them before I get to a catch.

To my knowledge, they don't. I do tons of trading all the time between RNG breeds, and I always skip past those pages to get to my Caught/Defeateds. :>

For a delay of around 686 involving capturing Pokemon, is it easier to use Emloop or just wait a bit longer when SRing?

Well, the reason you use Emloop is so you can better predict when to press the A button at the delay you want, based on your usual delay values .-. You need to SR a little earlier than when you normally would, since you have to hit the A button at the right time and wait for a certain amount of extra time at the continue screen.

I always use Emloop now for my timing anyway, since synchronizing to an outside clock means I have to keep waiting for the new minute, whereas Emloop lets me start the new minute whenever I feel like it.

I'm trying to catch a ditto with and iv spread of 31/31/31/31/31/31 for breeding purposes, but I'm having some difficulty with the initial seed concept and the the information rngreporter outputs.

1. For the initial seed it is determined by the date of you DS clock when you select continue, correct?

2. If I have a specific date and a delay of 640 how would I determine when to select to hit the delay?

52140289 seed, the frame is 114. Also, how would i determine which frame i start at?

I think I understand now. So I do the steps for the Calibration phase ONCE, use that as an initial seed, and from that you get the seconds and delay.

My question is, for the whole subtracting a minute as well as your SR time, is it okay to wait until JUST right before the second hand activates the next minute?

I found a better way to do it. Start a stop watch when you press "A" to set the time and wait till it gets to the (forgot the "technical" name) target time - seconds

So...I can just forget the whole setting the clock back a minute crap?

When you get to this point here is the general idea --

You are going to have a target time. This is the time you need to press the A button on the continue screen.

Lets say this time is 10:15:15.

During calibration you found out that if you reset at :00 seconds you hit continue at :15 seconds.

So all you are doing is is basically using that information to be able to soft reset at a time that will have you hit your target time. So:

Set DS clock to 10:14:00
Enter game (ie. get to a place where you can soft reset)
At 10:15:00 you soft reset

Knowing that it takes you 15 seconds to get from soft reset to "continue" means that if you do the steps above you will hit continue at 10:15:15, which is your target time.

I see, but does the hour matter though?

That depends, are you doing calibration or going for final?

If final, ALL of the time bits matter.

If calibration, no, it does not. Of course you will at least need to know what your hour on the DS was when finding the initial seed.

I am worried that you are sorta over thinking the directions a little bit and throwing in bits from other sections when they are not applicable.

mingot, I would like to know if i found a seed, for example 52140289

,for a specific specific frame of 114 generated in rngreporter how would what does 0:01. for thew time mean?

Also, how would know what is my starting frame?

Another question, i need to hit a delay time of 640 but when i start at the top of the minute and press the a button qiuckly i usually generate a delay of 624. How would it be possible to hit the delay at 640.
I know it's alot to ask for but your help will be greatly appreciated.

I probably am, I'm just so confused. Perhaps someone in this thread can point me in the direction of someone who can tutor me in this?

Beats me. I don't know if you are hatching an egg of catching a legendary or what. If it's a monster, I don't know what one you are trying to catch, so again, I can't really help.

For the high delays there are two posts on the first page with directions/tips on how to hit them.

So I can reset for perfect IV's and use the regular method for shiny egg generation. However, I'm having difficulty using Shiny Finder. I can never get the right delay apparently. I've generated the adjacent results and inputted in the coin flips and they always end up not on the list of generated seeds. I even make the range from 590 to 630 (my usual delay is 598 to 612) and still no luck. Any tips for using ShinyFinder?
