Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Sorry to ask this here, but i figure since it involves the RNG, its the best place.

Does anyone know what the normal shiny odds are for the runners Molt/Zap/Arti in Platinum, is it still 1/8192 or is it higher or lower, the reason i ask is because so many RNG calls are made to create them, its quite confusing.

runners are same as any so far as 1/8192 odds, though it helps if you know your ID/SID to use the RNG reporter and hit your delay/frame to acquire desired shiny.

Thanks for the quick response, and for the suggestion, but i prefer to go the regular route and spend weeks/months trying to get a shiny, rather than take a short cut.

The disadvantage of doing it the regular route is getting a shiny that's just a shiny with no other value besides that. the RNG reporter is flexible enough to do a wide variety of searches. If you look at the shiny pokemon featured in my trade topic, I only went after those with the best desireable spread as I really care more about competitive pokemon. Shiny is just like icing on the cake.

No reason why, but if you keep hitting frame 3 and then hit frame 1 for your correct delay and second several times, you may want to change your target. This has happened to several people where you hit your target but the frame changes, so it just may be bad luck.

Yes, this is what happened, so I picked a different time with a spread like and it worked.

I am currently reading the “Complete Example of Soft Resetting for Captured Pokémon”. I want to try it, but there are some terms that I don’t understand yet. For example, what does the phrase “starting frame” mean? And how do I determine my “starting frame”? Can somebody please help me?

There’s this formula: (desired frame - starting frame - number of wandering Pokémon), and that’s where I found the word “starting frame”.

Starting frame is the frame where the game begins at once you enter the game world. The formula you put up is to find how much you have to increase the frame by to get to the one you want. The frame always starts at one, but it's influenced by alot of different things. For instance, if a NPC takes a step, that increases it by 1. If you take a step in grass, that increases it. That's why most people try not to walk and use sweet scent on wild catches. Hope that helps.

Your starting frame is the frame you would get if you encountered your Pokemon immediately on entering the game world. For most Legendaries, the frame starts at 1, not all though. For Sweet Scented Pokemon, the start frame is 2 (in grass or caves) or 3 (on water).

I didn't get an answer on my question, So I have to ask again.
When trying to get my Delay and Seconds of Initial Seed, the ENG says that my Seconds are 20, but my clock says that it is 15, and everyone elses seconds are 15 as well. Why? What should I do?

One of two things happened. You synched 5 seconds differently or most likely you have a piece of information entered incorrectly into the RNG reporter. There are several things that can cause the seconds to change, including the year, day (I think), and other things as well.

im trying to catch a flawless legendary, i followed the steps, but i somehow managed to screw it up. the main problem is that i dont understand what to do with the second and the delay after i put in the stats for the poke i caught. thanks for the help

I need to figure this out
how is the delay different from seconds?
I'm still trying to use emloop to hit my delay, but I don't really get all of it
I know that emloop is supposed to be used for SRing legendaries though

Delay is the time from the game starts from the white screen until you hit continue, while the seconds is the time at which you hit continue, like 20:38:15.

Ah, thanks, I had to make sure
So in theory, or fact, I could use emloop to get the delay and hope that I also hit my seconds at the same time?
