Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Has anyone had similar or the same problem as me? and if so is there a solution? I really want to try getting a shiny egg, but I just can't seem to get seeds anymore.

EDIT: Scrap that. I just hatched my first shiny. Yay! Anyway, I changed the IV checking code I was using and that worked much better for some reason. Maybe the IV check code I was using before was inaccurate or incorrect.

4 questions:

1. Does having 1 US parent and one international one also increases the chance?

2. When playing the US version, does EU also count as international? I think so, but not sure because of the same language. (all my GBA games are EU).

3. I got this frame: 552
What's the number of taps/clicks I need for this? as 552/12 = 46, a round number.

4. Can I use RNG reporter for everything when it comes to shiny breeding? Or do I still need the japanese app. aswell?

No; nothing's really left to chance with this. However, from the sounds of it, it may make it so that the frames are more likely for shinys to occur, meaning less double taps.

Dunno, I would assume so, but don't trust me on this one.

Assuming you are switching into app 6, 44 double taps and 11 coin flips. Hopefully I'm not tired enough to have screwed that up. In either case, the new version of the program does it for you, so definitely re-download the program that's now listed in the OP.

You don't need it anymore; check the OP; it's been deleted from the instructions for a reason.

Thanks =D

And for the first answer, I know, but do I need 2 int. parents to give more shiny frames? Or is 1 enough?

And anyone else knows the answer on Q2?

Dutch pokémon games have UK language. I checked it with Pokesav.

And I didn't got it working, I use to USA dratini's on a JAP platinum, and I used the 'Master' list to compare with the PID I got, and I got a PID for Normal breeding. But the Normal and International have the same frames/offset.

So you didn't get a shiny huh?
I just hope you did something wrong, it would be great if int. parents really help.

Mingot, this stuff is...brilliant! I can't wait to try it out; the explanations look clear and appealing. Props to everyone who's been working on this. Let's get some shiny sexiness, shall we?

About the international breeding, I just put in a random starting seed, and checked if there was a difference between international and not international and there was. International had one starting at 2000 and other one had one farther back. It might have been a fluke that Vlie got but there are additional frames for international.

Probably there are more with international, but the weirdest part was:

I checked the NON-Internation list, that one said that 3400 was Adamant
I checked the International list, that one said that 3400 was Impish.

I'll be gathering and formatting the information on International Parents and adding it to the OP later today. And yes, when using international parents you get a completely different set of numbers, except for SOME of the shinys, which will match both (approximately 25% of them).

@ Mole --

Last time someone checked it did not.

There are some changes that could make it work better, but when trying to run under wine you will be advised to download the windows version of mono (www.go-mono.org) so perhaps give a try like this to run it under wine.

Next thing to try would be running it under the native MacOs version of mono.

Let me know how it comes out if you decide to try it.

Tried twice with EU Ditto and Bulba, no shinies. They got the nature of the Normal Eggs.

Throw an Everstone on the ditto and see if it works. Just to make 100% sure they are being counted as international parents.

EDIT: And was the Bulba also EU?

International Parents means: Two parents from DIFFERENT regions.

Ohh that explains a lot. I just thought that the parents should have different regions that the game. Like 2 EU dratini on a JAP Game.

*sigh*

Noobs. :P The international thing works. You have say, a Japanese parent, and an English parent in the Day Care. And then you'll just end up with more spreads that are shiny. It's helpful because you get more spreads earlier on, like at 200 and less and such. ^-^

Going to do some testing of my own with the Egg RNG for now, though.

Will deffo give it a shot when I get home and let you know more

I think the big fuss here is that a lot of people have been saying that both parents need to be international, which is not true if I'm reading things right. Only one parent needs to be international in order to raise the shiny chance. In fact, if you use two Japanese pokemon on a US cart, I'm not sure it would raise the shiny chance since they are parents from the same region. Maybe someone else can clear that question up.

A little question: The RNG started once you GET this screen, or once you PRESS A to Continute FROM this screen?
