When using the exploit to get shinies, having international parents WILL NOT increase the chance of a shiny egg. IT WILL NOT!!!!!!!!!! We are exploiting the game to get the frame we want. We can't make that more likely to occur, as human error is the only thing keeping us from getting a shiny. What it will do, is when we are not exploiting, make the chance of getting it more likely.

What it MIGHT do is make it so you need to flip the coin or double-tap less times. As in, make it less frames, but I am unsure.

Again, foreign parents WON'T make it more likely.

IT WILL ;) . I found out the algorithm and also tested it. It works

Actually Pink ... consider the case if you are just blindy hatching eggs. No RNG Repoter, etc. Having international parents does increase your odds of hatching a shiny. Improves the odds from 1:8196 to 1:2048.

That's why you see more of them when you run with international parents.

Of course when you are using RNG Reporter there really are no odds at that point. We make the dice rolls beforehand and know how they are going to come out. So yeah, the frame you see it is the frame you get it, but chances are what allowed it to be on that earlier frame (and also caused there to be so many of them) was the change in the odds for getting them.

Also nintendo are cruel bastards. The bump the odds on getting a shiny by a huge amount for international parents and then remove the ability to use a fucking everstone to actually let said shiny be useful.

That's what i mean. IF you are exploiting to get the shiny, it will make no difference. The only thing determining wether you get the shiny or don't is how much you suck. If you are just mass hatching, you will get more shinies. You won't get MORE shinies from this when exploiting, but maybe earlier frames when exploiting. (We should test this)

Nothing to test Jonny figured it out. With international parents it runs through the PID for the egg and if it is NOT shiny it does a little math on it and checks again. Four times. So yeah you will get 4x the shinys, which in general means earlier frames.

Additionally, using Jonnys algorithm gave us consistent results with calcpid.

BUT here is what I would like to see tested:

Does hatching a transfered egg (from US Pearl to JP Platinum) and hatching it make it a Japanese pokemon (I know the name is, but the actual region...).

If so, a lot of us have cloned eggs and could have some great international parent fodder.

Shiny update:

Bidoof, Hoothoot, Cranidos, Yanma, Onix, Rhyhorn and Chansey =D

What can I do to get the right natures?
Reset the game a lot. And when you got a nature that fits for one of your Pokémons, then bring those Pokemons to daycare and hatch.

EDIT: I'm going to use a Japanese Platinum, and use my USA Save-file, that should work, right?

To give a concrete exaple of what happens with international parents, think of it as if out of all the possible pids some of them that are non-shiny are "replaced" by a shiny PID. This doesn't mean that there are more shiny PIDs but that the same shiny PID occurs more than once i.e. can be obtained from 4 different seeds.

Sure.but there'll be more shiny spreads in the early frames, this is undoubtfully helpful especially if you want a certain nature/ability....

Oh, I get it, yeah. Can we incorporate that into RNG Reporter? Because that would be nice.

Bad news. Hatching an English egg in a Japanese game does not make it Japanese. So, it'll be hard for us to get good parents. D:

Using international parents can certainly cause a shorter wait time (fewer clicks), though.

It will be harder, but if you scent a pokemon on route 229 it should be easy to check the IVs, just 2 or 3 levels, use metalkids IV calculator. Well I haven't found an useful spread, so I didn't checked this. But will continue tomorrow.

You can do it like Emerald. It's just that the timing and everything is much harder, but Pink's almost got that down, and then if you're able to do it, everything's possible in Platinum.
