Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

So I have, in my possession right now, a shiny Igglybuff that I just hatched using the shiny egg method. My question is, since I saved before taking the egg after doing the taps and such, if I were to reset and take the egg, would it still hatch shiny?
 
Ah, okay then. I want to give it a more vibrant hatch location than "Route 210," so I just wanted to make sure that I can do that. Thanks!

It's harder to hit with Pearl/Diamond, since the normal values are in the mid 620s, but in Platinum, 640 is doable :D My first wild '09 catch was on a delay of 646, and I kept getting 640 while 'calibrating'.

If it's your first time trying the RNG, I'd agree with Minus - try adjusting the year to change your delay first.

The delay is increased by the amount of time you wait between Soft Reseting and pressing A at the continue screen. So if you find that you're still hitting a lower delay than you want with 10.66, you should 'tweak' the value (add a few more delay values to 640 - make it 648, for example, which means you wait 10.80 s at the continue screen instead of 10.66 s.) Simultaneously, you'll have to subtract the extra time you added from the pre-reset timer, since you still need to hit the correct seconds to be successful. (Added .14 s to timer, subtract .14 s from pre-reset box) If it makes you feel any better, I usually end up tweaking my time until my range fits what I want - finding your average delay in the beginning just serves as a base to start off with.

It does sound harder with Diamond - I use Platinum, which has a lower average delay ): If you really find it hard to do because of Diamond's longer delay, you can try using a seed with a higher target delay too~

I saw that there were only two seeds and each of them both need a delay of 640
 
So here's what I'm supposed to do:
1. Save in front of Giratina.
2. Synchronize my DS and external clock.
3. Start the game and then SR when the time is right.
4. Coin flip to check I grabbed the right frame?
5. Then capture Giratina, level up to 50 so I can check the seed.
Am I missing anything?

Using the Poketch Coin Flip application, flip 10 times, noting the results. Then, using RNG Reporter, select "DPP Egg PID (Normal)" and click "Generate" after entering the initial seed you are targeting. Match the results of the flips with the information in the "Coin" column of the output. If you have hit the correct target time and delay the results from the coin flips will match those output by RNG Reporter. Please note that switching to the Happiness Checker application at any time during this process will invalidate your results, so it is advised to simply save with the Coin Flip application selected.

I have the seed I got from the Time Finder and enter it to the RNG Reporter, is it a good thing if there's a long list? Do I have to find the frame I got from the Time Finder to the RNG Reporter?

Not that you're missing something, you are stating it wrong. In step 4, the coin flip is to check you hit the right delay, and if you did then you advance the frame if you need to. But yeah that's pretty much it.

You have to find out what frame it is for method J and if you're using a synch. Hopefully you did method J looking for the frame and if so a syncher. It will be the same frame as time finder, but you can generate the list still.
 
Does time affect the IRNG at all? I wanna know because if I'm trying to get a spread with over 5000 taps, I was wondering if I could like 1000, close the DS, then come back later and continue. I don't think time will affect it at all but I wanna make sure.
 
No, it doesn't KidFlash. I don't think you should waste your time with over 5000 taps - just keep resetting and re-obtaining your initial seed until you find a decent result around 12000 frames. Tapping takes longer than you'd think...it's VERY tedious. I only had to SR for about half an hour to an hour to find a good Shiny Male Timid Ability 0 spread at Frame 12689.
 
Yeah, I guess you're right. I had spent the past hour trying to find a seed so I gave up and decided to go for that. But I suppose it is better to go for something lower. I did the math and it would take me about 2 hours of nonstop tapping to get to that spread. ._.

are you aloud to have the parents in your party as 2/5 pokemon you need to have in your party(not counting the <50 one you catch
 
Alright, say that you don't need to move the frame forward for the spread you want. Should you still have the journal open at the beginning of the game? Why or why not?
 
@BoozeVGC, correct, and most of the time, that's what people do for convenience's sake.

@Davy, if the journal has no caught or defeated pokemon on the page that appears first, the journal will have no effect on your frame. If it has one, it advances your frame by 2, which would be undesirable for your situation.
