Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hmm.. Okay, so how do I get that 3 extra frames? Considering the journal itself adds 2 straight away to the frames?

EDIT: Hmm... reading the OP, I'm supposed to have 3 pokemon in my party then walk 128 steps to advance the RNG by 3. But I've already got 5 pokemon on me and i'm next to the old man.
So is this correct?

As soon as the journal comes up + 2 RNG
I close it
Walk into the Daycare counting my steps, deposit two pokemon. reach 128 steps next to the old man so that it adds the extra RNG?

I think when a cowgirl moves, this also adds +1 to the frame. Not entirely sure, since I'm still trying to IV abuse my Drifloon.

Hmm... I'm going to attempt that with a Shiny, may as well do it with a Shiny for the amount of time I'm trying to get this ryt =/

Okay, I'm using the ShinyFinder 1.1, I'm wondering about the time bit if anyone's used it. It says the time say 00:05 as in 5 mins past midnight. Am I supposed to set the clock at 00:04, then soft reset at 00:05? so I hit my target time of 14 secs?

Try doing the same thing in the lastest version of RNG reporter. It should be simple enough to understand, and I have never used ShinyFinder 1.1. But it does sound like you reset at 00:05 in the game, to get your target time.

About earlier, when you are trying to get perfect eggs, you calibrate your frame each time. If you get 5, you can only get odd frames that are 5 or higher (5,7,9, ...). If you want to get an even frame, just re-save and recalibrate the egg frame and hope it is even.

I am gonna to rng abuse shiny timid dialga @ diamond. But before i challenge dialga rowan and dawn are talking to me. Does that effect my standard frame ?

Damn. It's making me sick that I always seem to hit the wrong seed, and when I do hit the right seed and I hatch the egg, the cowgirls seem to have messed it up because they moved even before I talked to the daycare man =/

Maybe I'll have to calibrate again, now standing behind the daycare man...

You could re-save then calibrate again. Sometimes people have hit the seed several times and for some reason the NPCs do a different number of advancement for the seed only.

=/
For some reason my delay is a lot less than it was yesterday...
I was SR'ing for about 1-2 hours... then though WTF is wrong. So I did a initial seed thing to see my delay. I'm now averaging 617-625. Hmm... this is frustrating as I'm just spamming A button non stop every time =/, my delays are quite varied sometimes =[.

Any tips?

Quick question:

The article says to catch a Pokemon as quick as possible to check the Initial Seed. Is it okay to not catch the first few Pokemon if they are under 50 and catch the first that is over? Will this screw up the seed?

So, I'm trying to capture a flawless Giratina at this point, and I am currently facing Giratina in the Torn World. My target frame, according to RNG Reporter, is 5923, and my Target Time is 07/27/2027 @ 1:55:15 with a delay of 600. I have no roamers and Giratina's frame is equal to 12 in the torn world; therefore, my journal flips should be 2,995.5. Obviously, I can't do .5 journal flips, and I can't advance the frame by .5. What do I do about this problem?

Erm have 5 (odd number) pokemon in your party. Walk around for 128 steps so your RNG goes forward by 5 (or number of pokemon in your party), then do the journal flips or vice versa

However I'm not sure if there are any people moving about in the Torn world in plat so I'm not sure if it will mess up the count

Right, but it wants me to do 2995 POINT 5 flips. How can you advance the RNG only 1/2 a frame?

you said you needed 5923 advanced forwards? if you get it down to an even advance, you could just use journal flips to finish it?

So say you had 3 pokemon in your party, by walking 128 steps you'll have 5920 frames to advance say. Then do that with the journal flips

No, no. My target frame is 5923. Therefore, according to the Journal Flips formula, I have to advance the RNG 5923(Target Frame)- 12 (Monster Frame)- 0 (# of Roamers)/2 to get the proper number of journal flips (or other RNG advances) to hit my frame, and this equals 2995.5 journal flips. However, advancing the RNG by .5 is not possible. That is my problem.

What you do is walk 128 steps to advance the RNG by the number of pokemon in your party. Like someone said earlier, you have an odd amount of pokemon with you, walk 128 steps, and that will have advanced it by that many. You subtract this number before dividing by 2 for the journal flips.

Got it, thanks for the help.

What is this thing about Giratina's frame advancing by 11 during the journal flips in the Distortion World?
I read about it a while back and there didn't seem to be a real conclusion.

Some people are getting a starting frame of 23 it seems. EE has even said he has gotten 23. But when they just reset and catch it, the starting frame is 12 still. There has been no real conclusion on this yet. If this happens to you, you just make adjustments to your journal flips and walking 128 steps or not so you do hit your frame.
