Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

It's a bit complicated, but hopefully you'll get it now ^_^. I think it took me a whole sunday afternoon after getting help from Click and Dan XD, I think they got fed up with my retarded questions, but I understand it now and I'm grateful to them. =D

Though one thing I don't understand is why my calculations weren't correct. I mean the only thing I can think of is that the target time I used has seconds of 59, but I always use 14 during rng. Though I thought I couldn't use 14 this time because it's a smaller number like "I take 59 - 37.83 which is 21.17." and so 14 is smaller than 37.83. Or could I do 37.83 - 14 instead?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
Your target is xx:xx:59.
The 37.83 is how long your delay takes (this includes your normal 14 secs of entering the game 602 delay then 13.83 seconds worth of delay). the reason after 14 secs it's only a delay of 602 is because when you first start up Platinum you have a white screen, this advances time but not delay =P.)
That means, once the countdown has begun, you have 21.17 seconds to prepare to SR.

Yep. The first ten flips must match, but you seem to have the gist of it.

just one more question (anyone answer please). do i still have to catch a poke and find its ivs like the other method? (and can I? cuz it would be a good way to check out my delay and how close i am to the target delay)

No, you don't. You verify your delay by doing those 10 flips. If they match, you've hit the correct delay, if not, try again. But if they don't match, you can alway catch a pokémon to see what you did get.

Anyone know an answer to my Emloop problem btw? It's strange, because in the past, Emloop worked fine.

But If I did 37.83 - 14, that would be 23.83 and that would give me more time to get in the game before I SR. Could I do it that way?

Sorry, I don't understand.
Why are you doing 37.83-14?
In the 37.83 you already include your normal 14 seconds to get into the game.
Why would you take away the 14 again?

Also, from what I understand (which is little) you're saying, wait 23 seconds then SR?
That wouldn't work becuase 37.83 is equal to your delay. If you do it at 23.83 you will mess up your delay.

Haile, I'm assuming you had the same problem as JRT, second timer wouldn't count down.
Make sure you have a 0 in the box at the bottom. Even if you're not using it ;). Should work.

Well the only reason I choose a target second of 59 is because dan dan's thread had it. I also had to add 60 seconds again because I was running out of time. So I have 1370, converted that to 22.83, added that to 14 for 36.83, then did 59 - 36.83 which gave me 22.17. Since That's too low, I added 60 like you stated before. Though what I wanted to know is how you got 1370 before.

Oh... you had a delay of 1430 previously?
Then you said you were 60 (delay) above your target delay
So I just took 60 away from 1430.

Basically, wait till the first timer hits 0 (you have 82 seconds to do this)
Then SR. Mash your way until the continue screen, wait till second timer hits 0 then enter. Check your seed and alter your delay accordingly.

EDIT: No problem Halie, if you need more help, just do a print screen of the page =)

So I fiddle around with 1430 if I want, because I finally hit my time, but the delay is less than 2032 (one was 2013 and the other was 1968). It probably would be better to mess around with the delay than to mash A differently.

Hmm indeed. if you're below your target just add 20 or so to your delay in the box at the top.

I normally change/fiddle with my delay 3-5 times before I settle on a delay/time I want to hit.

Well so far I'm hitting my time with ease. That's got to be a good sign. I'll keep trying for now and thanks for your help.

oops i forgot asking this question as well. i apologize. Do I have to have 5 pokemon in my party and the poketch set to app#5 when I begin?

Personally, does anyone think a target delay of 2032 is too much, because I'm having the hardest time with it. So for other people, is a lower delay (like in the 1500's) usually better to try?

I have two questions.

Okay so I found this Modest spread on frame 93. So I took -2(roamers) -2(sweet scent in snowpoint temple)[Im trying to get a Jynx btw]. So that got me to 89. But I have to make that even correct? So I turn once getting me to 88/2= 44Advances? Which is 42 journal flips+sweet scent?

and my next question:

Im trying to hit a delay of 640, does anybody that has tried/or is trying to hit this delay know any possible way to hit it. I coin flipped one time and I got 9/10 to see if i hit it correctly! I was so pissed, but anyway, I didn't really record what I had done that time. I am constantly reseting at my target time and mashing A, I always hit my seconds, just not my delay... So again, if anyone knows how to hit a delay of 640 easily, that'd be very appreciated ;].

What game are you on? If you're on Platinum, if you mash A you'll probably get 598-604. So it'll be extremely difficult to get 640 ;). In Diamond I find my fast delays to be 619.

@ JRT. When you check your seed with your flips. How much delay are you out?
If you're aiming for an even delay and you're hitting odd delays, you'll never hit it. Change the year if that happens.
Also, Hitting a delay of 2,000 compared with 1,000 is the same IMO <--. You're still resetting to emloop's time.

I think some of them were odd I'll try another year and see what happens.

Just try 2009 ;).
If you hit an even delay, then hitting your delay of 2000(something) must be unlucky.
If you hit an odd delay, try 2010 =]

@alsabino - I have no idea what you're attempting. Please give more details...
