If I save, how much does it advance my frame?

and

If I keep getting a wide variety of second values but accurate delays, what am i doing wrong?

The act of saving itself doesn't advance the frame at all in 4th Gen, as far as I know.

You're probably not synchronizing your DS time to an external clock properly. You need to press A to set the DS time at the exact same time you set your external clock to the start of the minute.

no

my clock is perfectly synched

Three possibilities come to mind: either you're looking at the Actual Frame column instead of the Method J Frame column, or you're missing a Synchronizer/not using one with the proper nature, or you're somehow getting a false positive with the coin flips if you were using those to confirm your seed. You could try using an Azelf's stats to verify your frame in Seed Finder if it happens again.

Thank you for the response. My seed is 200802D4 which will give me an Azelf with a Naive nature and IVs of 31/31/31/30/31/31 at a target frame of 237, without the need of a Synchronizer. I know that I am not getting a false positive on coin flips because I have used Azelf's stats to verify my seed. The only thing that is wrong is the target frame. I am reading this value from the 'Offset' column on the DPPt Seed Finder window (with Method J selected on the main window).

In regards to the SR testing I have performed, I do not know how a Synchronizer could affect the reported frame in the Seed Finder. I am just loading the game and encountering Azelf without any frame advancements. Theoretically the reported frame from the date, time and stats of the captured Azelf should be 1, regardless of what the initial seed was. This has not been the case. I have seen values ranging from 93 to 199.

Or am I wrong in assuming this?

Im trying to use pika timer but the seconds are off.Ive tried a couple of times but its always off.I dont have any other applications up so is there another way to fix it.

If you were hitting other delays and adjusted the second timer then adjust the first timer. Add both timers up to make sure they are the correct seconds value.

If I want to do wondercard rng of fixed natue pokemon (goon's scizor or Ash's Pikachu). Is it use same method with other wondercard when I find seed and iv spread? and which version of game is easier to do wondercard rng?
I try to learn rng but it's quite hard for me because my english skill is poor :(

How do you convert PID to numbers/figuring out whether or not Wurmple evolves into Beautifly. I don't understand the smogon guide on this and just wasted a shiny Dustox

I'm trying to RNG Latios right now and I want to know if the chances of catching him in a certain ball is determined by the seed. I'm asking because I just went through three full trials of trying to catch him in a great ball and each time I failed to catch him before he ran out of pp and killed himself. So yeah, if my seed makes it where I can only catch him on lets say the 64th great ball, then I'm just going to masterball him since I'll never be able to catch him with great balls (he has 55 PP total, so that makes 54 great ball chances). If the catch chance is determined completely differently from the seed then I'll keep trying since that should mean I'm just not lucky enough.

I have no idea if the seed affects the catch rate of the pokeball, but don't you have a catcher with spore? That'll increase the amount of times you can attempt a catch, plus if you clone the catcher and have two of him in your party, that doubles your chances, because if the first gets hurt, you switch in with the second. I have used two false swipe/spore Brelooms on some legendaries.

I have a Smeargal with Spore and False Swipe but he doesn't have mean look so I can't use him to catch Latios. I'm using a Gallade with mean look and false swipe. He can learn learn Hypnosis but I missed my chance with that and I'm saved in the club anyways so I'm kinda fucked over because I can't get out without releasing Latios. =/

I have some problems with this spread:
Delay:1045
Frame:532
Place: Lake Verity so no NPCs
I was just testing this and i finally got the desired delay but whenever i try to do the frames i always seem to add 19 more leaving me a total of 551 and i was pretty sure that i did 532 (264 flips +1turn in grass) and the fourth time i made 200 flips just to check there was nothing wrong so i caught a poke using sweet scent input my seed and got a frame of 417, so if i just did 200 flips from where did i get the other 17? i said it was no big deal
so what i did later was :
530-(417+ 7 from the battle)=106 frames left
so i just decided to do turn+walks until that number and when i used sweet scent for my surprise it wasnt the poke i wanted so i checked its seed and i was on frame 756

Any help please?

EDIT: If it's useful i have 4 pokes in party and no i didnt take more than 128 steps and no wandering pokes

do i have to restart the game exactly at the new minute to get an accurate seconds reading in my initial seed? or can i do it anywhere within a given minute??

im assuming your calibrating. you still need to know the minutes, but you also need to restart at the next minute. your quite literally timing yourself in seconds on how long it takes for you to enter the game. in order to do this, you have to restart when your clock turns to the next minute so that the seconds read 00. this way, let's say you get a seconds of 14, that means it took 14 seconds for you to go from soft resetting to entering your game.

hope this helps.

well, i already have my frame and I have the PID for an egg. I was just always curious as to why i kept getting odd "second" values but consistent delays.

EDIT: finally! i am literally hitting 14 seconds every time

Hi I am in much need of help with my RNG project, I haven't done this before so am not sure if I am quite doing the right thing. Basically this is what I do, hopefully this is all right.

The goal is a BOLD suicune 31/x/31/31/31/31 caught at its place near cerulean city in HG.
I did the calibration phase and found I usually hit in the area of 490 for my delay, and 13 seconds. (I dont really see the point of this bit but hey)
Anyway I inputted my required IV spread into RNG reporter and it came out with the following in excel:

810b042f 3 45eefcf6
BOLD 0 31 14 31 31 31 31 DRAGON 70 810b042f 5 45eefcf6
BOLD 0 31 14 31 31 31 31 DRAGON 70 810b042f 7 45eefcf6
BOLD 0 31 14 31 31 31 31 DRAGON 70 810b042f 11 45eefcf6
BOLD 0 31 14 31 31 31 31 DRAGON 70 810b042f 13 45eefcf6
BOLD 0 31 14 31 31 31 31 DRAGON 70
so I want the 13 frame one so that I can get in the 12 elm calls and still catch suicune...

Right. I put the seed (810b042f) into the seed to time finder, a year of 2010 (all the roamers are caught) and it gives me various times, all with a delay of 1061

I choose 2010.07.11 @ 11.02.50 and then delegate 20 delay each way and 1 second each way.

Thus I synchronise my DS at 11.01, and follow pikatimers instructions.
My problem is that every time I go into the game, my elm calls are wrong (i hardly expected them to be right first couple of times), but when I put them into the Elm search function, it says "No match was found"-does this mean i was way way off?

Ive been trying to do this for 2 days now, and since the elm search isnt giving me any info on what seed I DID hit, how do I know im doing any of this right?

Please help wise wizards of Smogon!!!

@Darkstrike: I'd suggest you open up the range as far as you can. Put 2 seconds on both ends, 99 for each side of the delay, and don't check the "Even/Odd should match the seed delay". If you've been hitting even delays when calibrating, then you won't be able to hit your target delay, since it's odd and you hit evens. To fix this, just change the year up or down by one or insert a pokemon GBA game into the GBA slot.

Ummmm whenever I try to use the search elm function, it always says that there's no match for the elm responses. And another question, I'm viewing bearsfan's video for shiny eggs/iv abuse, and do you have to do the shiny egg thing first before the iv abuse or can you just skip the shiny eggs part?I'd really appreciate if you guys could help. thanks.

The catch rate of the pokeball is a fixed number, you can know the average number of tries it will take using THIS page and a scientific calculator. The pokeballs multipliers can be found HERE, the catch rate of legends is 3, but you can see for yourself at serebii's, psypokes' or bulbapedia's pokedex. However, I'm pretty sure that the seed affects in one way or another the number of tries it will really take for the capture to be successful.

As for a good catcher, may I suggest you take a flawless Jolly/Adamant Technician Smeargle to...
... the Old Chateau and scketch a Gastly's Mean Look (DP)
... the Victory Road and scketch a Lapra's (Lv. 43) Safe Guard (DP)
... the Cerulean Cave, use Safe Guard and scketch Parasect's Spore (HGSS)
... the Bug Catching Contest, use Safe Guard and scketch Paras' Spore (HGSS)
... the Bug Catching Contest (Thur./Sat.) and scketch Nincada's False Swipe (HGSS)
... Move Deleter, delet Safeguard - Move Tutor, remember Scketch
... And
... the Bug Catching Contest (Thur) and scketch Dustox's Moonlight (HGSS)
... Or
... the Sendoff Spring and scketch a Bibarel's (Lv. 43 or above) Super Fang (DP)
... Or
... Route 10 (Hoenn Sound) and scketch Linoone's Odor Sleuth (HGSS)

Super Fang takes 50% of the current HP, no matter what (though it kills if the target has 1 HP)
Odor Sleuth makes Smeargle hit ghosts
Moonlight recovers HP

Ugh... I kind of went into a Smeargle spree yesterday... *hides*

Hi guys, Im trying to IV breed a (near) flawless HP Ice Infernape using RNG abuse in Platinum, but I seem to mess up every time. I consistently get the same second and my delay is narrowed down between 594-612.
I cant even seem to get the egg PID right.
Here is what I do every time, hopefully you can find the mistake that Im missing
1) Reset minute on DS (sinc to outside time source)
2) Quickly put in AR and manually select codes (IV Checker and fast hatch)
3) On new minute I start Platinum and mass my way through to load the game
4) Take note of starting time and catch a wild pokemon
5) Check IVs and find seed
6) With seed in I generate a list of egg PIDs with desired nature (rash)
7) I do the Poketech taps
8) [this may be the mistake] I then run up and down until the daycare man has and egg
9) Save in front of him the take egg and check nature

and its wrong every time...
Can you help me out please?
