Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Sorry, I just don't see why you'd try to explain something you've never used to someone who uses it all the time. Ok for real though, joking aside, I've glanced at pikatimer and it looks pretty much the same. Does it just adjust the timers so you're button mashing like you used to have to while breeding? It's been a while since I bred anything, but my calibrations were always around something like 14 seconds 600 delay for platinum. Does it use that so you're basically mashing buttons but for any other delay that you want?

Actually I do use it because my pikatimer doesnt work properly. Also, I wasnt explaining anything to you but to Champloo. And you could've left it alone after I said nevermind.
EDIT: Resolved

Steven Stone's starters all advance by 1 if I recall correctly (pretty sure here).

Professor Oak's starters advances it kinda weird. My Squirtle was 4 I believe...(it was maybe 5...I don't recall it being that, but 4 is close enough, lol, and Kaphotics seems like he'd know).

Victory! I just abused my ID / SID on my platinum game, now I get to play thru and get either Timid or Bold shiny legendaries 31/14/31/31/31/31 with HP Dragon 70... Special thanks to Riski, Wild Eep, mingot, and the many others I lurk on this thread on a routine basis... Now to play thru and claim my legendaries!

I keep changing my DS time to an appropriate time for me to get the seed on time, but something keeps going wrong (I keep getting a time of 6:11:14..so I've been setting the clock to 6:10:00 when a new minute comes up and I'll click the Pokemon Heart Gold Icon at 6:11:00) because when I hit "Search Elm" and input his responses I always get "No match was found for your Elm Responses". I thought I was doing everything correctly. FML.

Hitting your seconds is just one part of it, you have to hit your delay as well. 1second = 60delays so yeah, it can vary quite a bit. Using pikatimer would help you hit both the second and the delay.

In any case, for "Seeds to Time" when searching Elm, make sure the min/max delay box is set to 99 (this increases the chance of you landing on something). And adjust the seconds value to min/max 9 too to see what you're hitting.

Im trying to get a shiny HP electric 70 tentacool egg. Ive gotten my shiny egg confirmed, and i've saved in front of the daycare man. Now im trying to RNG for IVs. Everytime i change the delay in the "time finder" and click "Generate", RNG reporter crashes... Any solutions? Please.. I've been searching all day.. If you have any ideas, please please contact me..

Try searching for one particular delay, 888 for min/max values for example. Keep the min/max frames low as well, 11-15 for instance. It'll help. If it still crashes...then :(

It's been my experience that RNG Reporter crashes when it has been told to generate but something in a field has not been put in to let it do the math. So recheck that all the necessary fields have been filled in correctly.

Yeah, narrow down min/max delays. That's a very large range that you're making it search through. I found that if I get anything more than a range of 20 or so it'll crash or take forever for me. The best bet is just to pick one delay for both max/min values.

If you're abusing for IVs, then always go for flawless! ^_^ Why not when the work is the same :) The only exception here is if its a physical spread, then of course SpA isn't important so leave it blank (same for special spread, just vice versa).

Other than that, it looks fine. If it still doesn't work, then huge bummer :/

Thanks so so much for your help! i set the min/max delay to the same number, and its working perfect now! (i feel so nooby, but everyone has to start somewhere!) now im just going to search through all of these and see what i can find :) thank you once again for your time and help!

Ok I'm on the part of the poka timer and no all can say is that I'm so frickin confused
I tried youtube videos, threads
can someone simply explain it to me =)

Okay. About the Pikatimer..If I calibrated a delay of 503, what would I want to put for "wanted delay" ? Also, if I calibrated a total of 14 seconds, what would I put for "wanted second"? After all the correct information is put into the Pikatimer, when should I be starting it up? What's the overall point of the first timer? I believe the second timer is for the amount of time you should be taking to hit "a" on your pokemon file, right?

Boss_TJW:
Pikatimer - it follows everything you've learned in the RNG process. Whatever your calibrated delay and seconds are you enter it into the designated area. The wanted delay and wanted seconds can be determined by what is shown on RNG Reporter. Usually the wanted seconds is the same as your calibrated if your wanted delay is close to your calibrated delay.

letsgocraaaazy: Wanted delay is what you want, lol (not trying to be mean or anything). In Time Finder whatever you search for your delay is what you'll enter into pikatimer. Wanted second works the same way :)

The first timer is when you Enter the game (or soft reset). The second timer is when to hit continue off the continue screen.

Wow..Lining up the clock with the pikatimer clock and external computer clock is making me want to tear my hair out. I keep getting the seconds off. Apparently I have a wanted second of "10" (I finally got an elm match, which was 2/26/10 with a time of 6:58:10 and a delay of 455), but I just keep screwing things up by a second or two. What do I need to adjust, and by how many digits/seconds/whatever???? >:(

If your using pikatimer why do you need a clock? Why do you need 3 clocks? I use the first set of the countdown to set the time so I dont need to synch anything else to it.

Eww, don't just do that for fun, haha. Do that so once you get it, you can get a reward (shiny egg, perfect IVs).

Once you have your calibrated delay/seconds down, just jump right into RNGing.

Well, I was having trouble understanding the overall use of the timer, so I suppose I wanted to make sure it was on the exact second. I've been hitting start on the timer as I've been changing my DS clock to match the proper time (I've been setting it to 6:57:00 to be specific. that way I'll have a good minute before I enter the game).

My bad, by "fidgeting" I just meant that I'm trying to get a proper seed (in this case by trying to get that matching seed over and over and over again(only to fail)), that way all the calls match up and I can start the steps for advancing my frame (which is 9, in this case).
