Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Echoing NeoFred a little here. Calibration in that manner is completely unnecessary. Use the default timer settings, aim for a seed, find out what you hit and update the timer with that delay. You will be calibrated almost immediately.
So all I need to do is search for the seed and attempt to hit it?

Now here's another question: I have the Excel file with all the Shiny Seeds with good IVs. Can I use these seeds or do I have to find my own? (If I have a choice of both, which one is better?)

Either works in 4th gen. Keep in mind that you'll probably want to search for your own if you want something shiny. Which is better comes down to personal preference, really. I like to just get my own.

Alright, thanks.

One more question before I start doing things myself, it seems my RNG reporter won't reset back to the default Delay settings. what are the default delays?

It's up to you really. I like to hit around 600 but if you want ample time shoot around 800-1000.

I have a question regarding TID/SID abuse in Diamond. I've done TID/SID abuse successfully before on my heartgold game but diamond has been giving me trouble with the seemingly random results when I input my obtained TID. My questions are:

1. What delay range should I be aiming for in Diamond? (I was aiming for 5500-6000 in HG)
2. At which scenes should I be pressing A when the first and second timers end? Right now, I start the first timer when I configure my DS clock. I enter the game from the main DS menu when the first timer goes to 0. I go through all the intro stuff and pause at the last sentence Rowan says (that's where my ID/SID is generated right?). I press A at that spot when the second timer goes to 0. Is all of this right? I've been getting way off results. Also, I noticed that there is a "start" screen when you enter the game, where it prompts you to press start to go into the intro scene. Should I be pressing A to end one of my timers there?

Thanks for the help!

Ok so I attempted a Suicune RNG on Heartgold (30/9/30/30/31/31 HP Grass 68 Gold was the best I could find so I settled on this)
I found it with the Time Finder set on Method K, Stationary legends. with the min.delay set at 600, max.delay set at 1000. The min.frame is 1, max.frame is 300. The year is 2011. I took its seed (0F0A029A, its Frame is on 28) and pasted it into the Time Finder. the Time Finder says my Suicune is at Frame 28, as I stated. I input the same seed into the Seed to Time Function, which I then checked off the "Seconds" section and typed in 50 in its box. I then put down my year (2011). I clicked generate, and numerous times come up. I chose the one that I liked the best (10:59:50, on 6/27/2011) with the Delay 655.
I then took this data and started to input it into the EonTimer. I kept the Calibrated delay @ 500, I put down the calibrated seconds @ 15 (it was @ 14), for my Target Seconds I put 50. My target delay I put at 655 as I found in the time finder. I started my DS Clock at 10:58:00 (as stated in Bearsfan's videos, he told me to start my DS Clock a minutes before my desired time) and the EonTimer at the same time. I went into the game, and soft reset as the first timer went down to Zero. Then I pressed continue as the other Timer went Zero. I entered into the game and called Elm 9 times to see what I hit, I recorded these results, then I searched for them in the Seed to Time function. The Reporter tells me it cannot find a result for my Elm responses.
So I can only guess that I'm not hitting my Time right at all. As I press A at the continue screen and soft reset, I seem like I'm about 30-40 milliseconds off. Is this my problem, or is there more to it?

You set your ds clock to the number of minutes ahead of the actual game based on what EONTIMER tells you (it will tell you underneath the clock), not always 1 minute ahead. Also, if you haven't calibrated before (and going with the standard 500 delay, 15 seconds), you may need to expand your parameters in the seed-to-time window in order the get results the first couple of times. The 30-40milliseconds is irrelevant.

Underneath the clock (which says minutes before target) it says 0. This means I don't have to set my DS at a minute before my target time, right?
What do you mean by expanding the parameters? The Min and Max Delays and Seconds? What do I set them to?

Yes, you don't have to set your DS a minute ahead. That was your problem.

Put min/max delay as +-50 and seconds as +-1 and when you are more used to your calibrated stats, you can tighten those parameters

I've done ID/SID abuse in Pt, so I'm not sure about Diamond but I'm going to assume it's the same.

1.) In Pt, I think a delay of 6100 - 7000 is good, because it takes a while to get to where you need to be.

2.) You're doing the first part correctly, but you need to press A at the last sentence of the tv screen at the end of the second timer (I'm not sure in Diamond, but in Pt the first sentence on the tv is the last sentence. You might have to get through a few sentences, though).

Ah I see! You mean the TV when they talk about the Red Gyarados right? I'll go try it now, thanks so much!

Another quick question XD. Are all starters in Diamond method 1 with frames 1 or are they on different frames? o.O

Method 1, and yeah, starting frame of 1.

Although, iirc, in Diamond there are no NPCs. You'll have to use a seed that has a method 1 frame of 1 because you can't advance the frame that early in the game. If I'm wrong and there are NPCs in Diamond, then you'll have to use them to advance your frame.

Ok I'm having serious issues.

I can't seem to hit my delay at all. It might be my time but I dunno at this point. I search for my Elm responses and it brings upa delay up in the thousands (I am trying to hit 655, but the delay i hit on this attempt is 1198 somehow)

Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong? Or better yet, does someone have a step by step guide to help me through this? I can't seem to get it down at all. Everything is being spit out at me at random it seems.

could you include a screenshot of what you're doing (the timer and the seed to time function)?

To be clear you have to abuse your ID/SiD for those spreads to be shiny, the IVs will be the same though.

I just abused my diamond cart(pain in the ass) I ended up using 6500-7500 as my range, granted my name is 4 letters and I'm a decent masher, the key I found is to have enough time left to just sit at the TV screen and hit A when the second timer runs out.

Please save your self time and DL PokeRng from the first post. it searches seeds faster than RNGReporter. Also since you're using a timer don't be afraid to open up your delay range to 2000.
Yes, you don't have to set your DS a minute ahead. That was your problem.

Put min/max delay as +-50 and seconds as +-1 and when you are more used to your calibrated stats, you can tighten those parameters
The +/- 1 second isn't really needed since he is using a timer but agreed with +/- 50 delay.
Another quick question XD. Are all starters in Diamond method 1 with frames 1 or are they on different frames? o.O
If I remember correctly they are all 1 but with no way to advance you have to pick a frame 1 spread like PoJ said.

The joy and disdain of Pt NPCs :)

So to be clear you are setting your Ds clock to 10:59 while simultaneously starting Eontimer, when the first timer expires you are entering the game from the DS menu or soft resetting till the resume game screen where you wait until timer 2 runs out you are hitting A to enter the game.

If yes then it could be something simple we are overlooking(screenshots will help solve what it may be)

This is a screen shot of my Reporter and EonTimer.

I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong.
So far I've been setting my DS clock and clicking "Start" on the EonTimer at the same time. I quickly as possible go into the overworld and wait until the timer tells me to soft reset. Then I soft Reset, and wait for the timer to go off so I can press continue.

Don't use +/-9. You're getting a false result. You will not be that far off. Change those to 0's. Use +/- 100 in the delays for now.

Try to adjust your delays: +/- to 99, seconds is fine. most of the time the target second is 1 second off, so you may want to try setting it to 51.

edit: scratch my seconds comment, toast knows more, he developed the timer. :D

Ok I did it again and I'm still not getting any matching Elm Results. This time I set my DS Clock and started the timer at the same time, waited for my first timer to run down to Zero and click A to boot my game from the DS menu. I then waited for the other timer to reach zero and then clicked A to get into the overworld from the Continue screen.

It would me much appreciated if someone could tell me step by step what I'm supposed to do. I've read all the guides and watched all the videos and I can't seem to get it. I need it simplified a bit more if possible.

maybe you need to set your time to a minute before? im not sure, but when i get a timer which is like 2 minutes and something something seconds, i set mine 3 minutes before.

You're definitely doing it right as far as attempting to hit your seed. I'm not sure what's wrong. You don't have the "Odd/Even should match delay" box checked, right? If you do, uncheck it and generate the adjacent seeds again. Then try again and see if you get something. If you already have it unchecked, maybe change your calibrated second to 14? I'm not sure how it would make a diff., but I can't think of anything else :s
