Original ruling: We have pre-defined price brackets with set amounts of players that go in each. 2 for the max, 3 below that, 4 for the next two, etc. We then use the Wilson Formula on their records from the 2 most recent MPLs to determine the order and placing them from the top down.
New ruling: Instead of the pre-defined price brackets, we have decided to try out a modified version that results in a price without having to rely on who the other managers are. The formula we decided on still uses the Wilson Formula but we multiply the score by the player's Win %. This is because the Wilson Formula will naturally give players with more games a higher score so multiplying by the win % should help alleviate the issue. That results in a number between 0 and usually 5000 at most. That is not indicative of a price so we plan on continuing with placing these numbers into a range. The range is:
0-500 = Minimum Pricing
501-1500 = Second Lowest
1501-2500 = Middle Pricing
2501-3500 = Second Highest
3501+ = Maximum Pricing
This should help give concrete answers when managers ask for their price that way they know well in advanced and it is a more dynamic way to make sure each player is more-or-less worth what they should be based on the previous two MPL records.
Worth noting here too that we are going to drop each price from the previous MPL by 2.5k each! So the pricings, in order of the ranges above are as follows: 12.5k, 15k, 17.5k, 20k, and 22.5k.
In a similar vein, players who did not play in either of the 2 most recent MPLs will NOT be the minimum pricing. It's been agreed upon that they will be in the "Middle Pricing" bracket instead as we can not objectively give them any other pricing to keep things fair.
