My First Competitive Team: Final Thoughts.

OU, Changed the Whole Thing Up!

I'm re-doing the whole team. It's a FULL OU Team now.
Let me know what I can do to improve it.

Anyways, here we go:

466.png

Weavile @Choice Band
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
-Night Slash
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Pursuit

Weavile's Choice Band lead. Pursuit for all the switchers (especially Gengar Leads, etc.) His other basic move coverage.

453.png

Lucario @Life Orb
Evs: 252 ATK / 252 SPD / 6 HP
Adamant Nature
Ability: Inner Focus
-Close Combat
-Swords Dance
-Extreme Speed
-Stone Edge

Hardhitting SDCario. Close Combat is just amazing on him, after an SD I'm crazy. Extreme Speed to hit the frail but fast sweepers and Stone Edge to hit flying and some dragon types.

477.png

Gliscor @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Atk
Impish Nature
-Earthquake
-Roost
-Aerial Ace/Stone Edge/Ice Fang
-Knock Off/Stealth Rock/Taunt

My defensive wall. Obviously a Hera Counter. I can't decide between AA/SE/IF and I also can't decide between KO/SR/Taunt...

350.png

Milotic @Leftovers
EVs: 148 HP / 228 Def / 132 SpA
Bold Nature
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Recover
-Hypnosis

My Bulky Water, Mix Wall. Hypnosis to get those sweepers to sleep. Recover over and over and over again. Surf and Ice Beam for coverage.

373.png

Salamence @ Choice Specs
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Hydro Pump

You all know that SpecsMence is deadly. Draco Meteor is scary, Dragon Pulse to finish the weaklings off and Flamethower/Pump for coverage.

471.png

Electivire @Expert Belt

EVs: 4 HP / 252 ATK / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Thunderpunch
-Cross Chop
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch

Basic Electivire set, Physical beast with great coverage. He uses Expert Belt since he has a good chance of super effecting anyways. Life Orb seemed kinda dangerous on him with all the Rock/Spikes around.

OR

Infernape (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 24 Atk / 232 Spd / 252 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot
- Close Combat

MixApe is a second option, instead of Electivire. I like the Electivire sweeping but if I need to, I'll use the MixApe to kill walls instead.

So yeah, tell me what you all think.

What benefits does psychic give you that makes up for the ability to outspeed weakened sweepers that outspeed lucarios mediocre speed?

Also, you need someway to get rid of stealth rocks or keep them off the field if weavile is forced to switch out by bronzong or yanmega (or something else)

Please put Vacuum Wave over Psychic. Allows Luke to revenge kill weakened sweepers, or things w/ x4 weaknesses to it (hi Weavile and Ttar). Also Psychic's coverage is abysmal, you really won't miss it.

Alright

- Your team is severely weak to Garchomp. While I understand that you have Weavile to stop it, remember that it takes a huge chunk from Outrage/Earthquake (will die if CBed) and it's weak to Stealth Rock as well. Although this may not completely solve the problem, Ice Beam over Thunderbolt on Starmie will lessen the weakness (still can't switch into a CBOutrage and survive, but if he does that you can go to Weavile and Ice Punch while it's stuck)

- I'm baffled as to why you have Choice Specs and the Spinner set on one Starmie. Use one or the other, but not both

- Consider Hidden Power [Ice] > Dragon Pulse on Lucario. This way, Lucario is not walled by Gliscor.

- Inner Focus > Steadfast on Lucario. As a hit and run Pokemon you do not want to be flinched.

- Your team is at the mercy to Electric attacks. Still trying to come up with a solution

My Team has been completely redone working with Jibaku+.
Tell me what you think.

Electivire was just added in place of Infernape.

I'd say it's a pretty solid team, good work gang!

Just a suggestion though, it might be interesting to try taunt on Weavile instead of brick break. This would keep stealth rocks off the field, and also stop slow sleepers like bronzong(you also have nothing to deal with sleep). Life Orb would probably replace Choice Band, though you could conceivably keep choice band, since weavile would have to flee on most of the most of the pokemon it would be taunting. But if Brick Break or .2 xtra damage make or break weavile, then just ignore my suggestion.

umm, a mixvire would benefit you more than all-physical vire

the set is
Electivire @ Life Orb
Mild
252 Spa, 76 attack, 180 speed
flamethrower
thunderbolt
hp ice/grass
cross chop

you have no good wallbreakers, and mixvire is much harder to wall than all physical

It's either Physical Electivire

or MixApe...

But the reason why I put in vire was because I was weak to electric.

so why not go mixvire?
physical vire doesn't hit hard at all. mixvire would basically be your only way to deal with swampert (you have weavile, so I'd run hp grass for your swampert troubles)

it also kills stuff like bronzong, blissey, empoleon, starmie, and other crap that would get in salamence's way if you didn't predict right.

physical vire is too easy to wall, so they'll prob'ly be able to constantly switch something like, say, hippowdon in against you repeatedly, forcing you to waste any boost that you might get.

I'm not sure a Weavile lead is a good idea right now. Bronzong is the number one lead, and Gyarados is on the rise.

I reccomend a Taunter to start, so Bronzong can't set up Stealth Rocks, or Hypnosis you. Either that, or threaten it right off the bat by leading with a fire attacker, like Infernape, or your Salamence. Having Stealth Rock on your side of the field, AND losing something to Hypnosis is generally a bad way to start the match.

actually, a mixape looks good, though I'd go with hp ice over nasty plot.

I'm not sure if Mixape is a good idea there. His team is run over by Electric attacks, and he needs something to stop it. I didn't recommend EVire, though, but it's up to him.
