My first OU Team attempt

This is my first attempt at making an OU team, so any helpful criticizm is greatly appreciated.

Aerodactyl@Focus Sash
Jolly
252Spd/252Atk/4Def
-Stealth Rock
-Taunt
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake

--- This seems to be a pretty good lead, Taunting many other leads, allowing me to set up freely, safely getting Stealth Rock up. Plus, I've been able to get him back in a few times after switching out, allowing me to get Stealth Rock back out after getting Rapid Spinned away.

Starmie@Leftovers
Timid
136HP/140Def/232Speed
-Rapid Spin
-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Surf

--- A pretty decent Rapid Spinner, it can also spread Paralyze around fairly well. In addition to that, Thunderbolt and Surf are fairly powerful, and allow it to leave a dent or KO big threats like Gyarados and Heatran. Having a bit more bulk to it rather than power should be fine, since it should be able to wipe out what it needs to without more SpAttack.

Gyarados@Leftovers
Adamant
156HP/72Atk/96Def/184Speed
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Taunt
-Bounce

--- Once again, I don't really know what item I should use. I was thinking Life Orb, but that might weaken it a bit too much after getting hit by SR, if need be. I dunno, maybe it's not necessary to worry about that. Anyways, the idea is to set up DD and leave a nice mark on their team. With this bulkier set, getting set up should be much easier.

Electrivire@Expert Belt
Mild
36Atk/252SpA/220Speed
-Thunderbolt
-HP Grass
-Cross Chop
-Flamethrower

--- Formerly a standard Choice Band Ttar, I was a bit wary on giving up Ttar, but this Electrivire certainly shows much more promise as far as team synergy. Sand Stream didn't really help any of my other team members, and Ttar just felt kinda thrown in for more raw power rather than well thought out.

Scizor@Choice Band
Adamant
252Atk/252Spd/4Def
-Bullet Punch
-U Turn
-Superpower
-Pursuit

--- Ah, Scizor. This baby has been mainly used for revenge killing. I had a Life Orb, but switched to Choice Band to allow it to easily finish off anything I need it to. With its massive attack, coupled with the Choice Band, Scizor should now have no problem wiping out whatever it needs to.

Heatran@Choice Scarf
Naïve
252SpA/4SpD/252Spe
-Flamethrower
-Earth Power
-Explosion
-Dragon Pulse

---Formerly Skarmory, Heatran added some much needed coverage and provides me with an excellent switch-in for Scizor, which I should've had in the first place. Choice Scarf seems more appealing than Life Orb, mostly because I like the idea of being able to outrun nearly everything that is going to be thrown at it.

I've done a couple Ladder battles on Shoddy to test it out, and it has done fairly well. I feel like I should probably include Heatran or something with a good fire-type attack, but that's just me. For all I know, this team could be completely useless and horribly flawed, but hey, that's why I'm here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

One big thing, you made all the sets(Skarm aside) the 252/252/4 thing, which doesn't make each of the sets the best it can be. Plus your item choices are somewhat odd.

Your lead is fine. We'll leave him alone.

Starmie, you should run THISset with Starmie as it is a better set. You can keep T-wave>Recover if you prefer.

Gyarados, generally speaking a Bulky DD Gyara is best, so use THIS set as it is superior to your current set.

I would suggest switching Tyranitar to Electivire because of its great synergy with Gyarados and it adds an Electric immunity to your team. I would say probably a MixVire set would be best such as THIS one.

On Scizor, switch the item to Choice Band and Superpower>Brick Break. He serves as a much better revenge killer that way. Although losing the ability to switch moves.

I would suggest switching Skarmory for Heatran due to its synergy with Scizor and it's ability to tear through unprepared teams. I would say the Choice Scarf or Life orb set would be best. Those can be found here

I've edited my team a bit, and it sure looks much better. The team synergy is something that I felt I needed, but was a bit hesitant to add for some reason. I had a feeling my EV spreads were a bit stale, especially Gyara and Starmie's. Personally, I feel like Thunder Wave would be more useful on Starmie than Recover, but with this bulkier set, Recover certainly wouldn't hurt.

Thanks dws93rd!

I have a very small suggestion. Your Scizor doesn't need max Speed. Bullet Punch kind of makes up for Scizor's lackluster Speed. Added durability is usually preferable on CB Scizor as it allows it to switch-in on more attacks with ease, which enables it to repeatedly come in and U-turn.

Try using a spread of 248 HP | 252 Atk | 8 Spe instead. 248 HP is used over max HP for the following reason: Max HP is a Stealth Rock number, which means after switching into Stealth Rock with 248 HP EVs, you're on the exact same amount of HP as you would have been with 252. After switching in twice, you're 1 HP better off, etc. Look at this article for further explanation. You still retain power with max EVs invested into attack, so give this spread a try!
