My first RMT ^_^

Hi, this is my first RMT and post here. I've only just got back into pokemon after a few year break, and I decided to try my hand at competitive. But enough rambling, onto the team. It's kinda built around U-turn, as it's my 1 of my favourite moves in the game. :P (Changes to the team are in Blue).

Rhyperior (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Ice Punch

Rhyperior takes away the glaring rocks weakness I had before. He can set up stealth rocks, and hits hard with earthquake and stone edge. Ice punch has actually worked wonders on grass types who switch in. His Ev's are for max HP, since it needs to stay alive and wall things, and SDef because it was pitiful before, and could take very little special attacks.

Zapdos @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Heat Wave

I use Zapdos to apply pressure (Not just the ability, lol), as it can threaten a large variety of targets. Not too many pokemon that don't resist electric can happily take Zapdos's thunderbolt. Heat wave hasn't really been impressing me, so I'm looking for alternatives. Hidden power grass takes out stupid ground types who think they can take my attacks, as well as anything that resists my thunderbolt. U-turn is for the momentum, and quite a few people don't expect it. Roost is now there instead of U-turn, as now I have Life orb, I need to recover some of the damage. Life Orb makes it a lot more dangerous, and can cause several switches, allowing me to get of the roosts.

Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Roar
- Scald
- Toxic

Instead of Xatu, I have Blastoise. Rapid spin gets rid of rocks/spikes/t-spikes, and with Toxic he can really stall out. Scald for an actual damage move, and it can get off a burn. Roar is for Baton pass teams, as well as Pokemon that attempt to set up (Get off swords dances, etc). Blastoise has however made my team very weak to ludicolo.

494.gif

Victini @ Choice Band
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- V-create
- Brick Break
- Bolt Strike

I had a special line breaker in the form of Zapdos, and I needed a physical one. In addition, I have never used Victini before. Also, It can learn U-turn. :P Choice band just increases it's already high attack, with U-turn for an easy switch. V-create just straight wrecks some pokemon, and brick-break just breaks (no pun intended) Porygon2. Bolt strike gets rid of water pokemon who attempt to KO it.

319.gif

Sharpedo (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Protect
- Zen Headbutt

Physical sweeper. Speed boost allows it to outspeed and take out the remainder of my opponents team with it's 2 STAB moves, and protect gives it a free turn to get a free speed boost, which usually gets it faster than the opposition bar choice scarf users. I'm considering using focus sash, since it's paper-thin defences can get 1HKO by scarf users. Life orb is for added destruction, since choice items do very little when I need to change attacks.

197.gif

Umbreon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Foul Play
- Toxic
- Protect

Umbreon do work. Lots of work. With Wish, Toxic and Protect it can successfully stall out quite a bit of the Pokemon I see in UU, and is Incredibly hard to deal with if you don't have a fighting type move. Ev's for HP and SDef makes my wishes really large, and SDef because I already had a physical wall in the form of the giant turtle with cannons. ^_^ Foul play is needed just as a straight damaging move, and can take out a variety of opposing pokes.

One thing I have noticed is that this team is weak to Lucicolo. It is super effective against 2/3 of my team, and I have nothing that is X2 back. Any suggestions for him?

Given up pokes:
207.gif

Gligar (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Earthquake

Gligar is my lead. He has eviolite instead of leftovers because I felt that leftovers didn't do that much, and the defence boosts have certainly helped. Roost is basically for stalling, stealth rocks pretty much speaks for itself. Earthquake can be useful with roost, as long as the opponents poke can't do more than 40% with 1 hit. U-turn is for taunt leads, since it will do nothing and I'll be able to hit a lot harder with another pokemon.

178.gif

Xatu (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 240 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Psychic

I love magic bounce. It's just funny. Also, I didn't have a rapid spinner, and at times this can be even better. U-turn - Momentum. Thunder wave is useful for slowing things down before I can get off a U-turn. Roost is for stalling out, and goes well with thunder-wave. Originally I had toxic instead of psychic, but thunder-wave turned out to be more useful, not to mention making toxic worthless. So psychic is there because I didn't know what else to put, and I wanted an attack that didn't switch me out.

469.gif

Yanmega (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Protect

One of my favourite pokemon ever. Useful, since it's a very good special sweeper. Protect for the same reasons as Sharpedo, and 3 coverage moves which allow it to take out most types. Everything to do with speed both applies here, as does life orb.

Read, rate, review, and all feedback is welcome!

Cool team, but like all teams, it needs work.

Team changes-

- Although Gligar isn't weak to rocks, you have 3 other flying types that are. Add in Victini and that makes 2/3 of your team weak to rocks, and don't forget the fact that Yanmega takes 50% damage on switch in. I know you have Xatu, but it's extremely predictable and gets annihilated by things that can hit hard and have rocks, like Rhyperior and Azelf. Also, don't forget that there are rock-type attacks out there, and nothing on your team can take hits besides Gligar, which will eventually wear out, even with Roost.
- Another main weakness is that your team is incredibly weak to ice-type attacks.Sure Victini resists it, but you don't want to have a sweeper switching in with all the entry hazards that exist. Also, Sharpedo has paper-thin defenses, so don't even count that.
- Your team has an extreme weakness to electric, barring Gligar, which takes no damage, but gets annihilated by the HP Ice that Zapdos and Raikou carry most of the time.

Now to move on to the individual pokemon changes-

- Gligar- great, the moveset is standard and Gligar is pretty much useless without Eviolite, so don't switch that out like you mentioned
- Zapdos- I assume you want him to be a sweeper, so drop the leftovers and add in Life Orb. To combat Zapdos' weakness to rocks and Life Orb recoil adding up, you're gonna need to drop a move to add for Roost. (you don't need Roost, but since Zapdos forces many switches, it's easy to pull one off). I would recommend dropping U-turn for Roost, because it doesn't work on Zapdos without him losing coverage. Also, if you want to keep U-turn, change it to Volt Switch. It's an electric-type attack that switches out like U-turn, but Zapdos can do some damage with it.
- Xatu- it's a standard set, and it does its job
- Victini- I would recommend changing his item to a Choice Scarf, because you don't have a scarfer, and the band only provides sheer power, much of which you already have on your team.
- Sharpedo and Yanmega- I put these 2 together because it's not necessary to have them both on your team. You should drop 1, preferably Yanmega, because it takes away so many weaknesses from your team, and add in a more bulky pokemon.

Changes-

I would recommend Rhyperior to replace Yanmega because it would take out an electric weakness, a rocks weakness, and an ice weakness. I recommend using the max HP/ max Sdef set with stealth rocks. It will take the place of Gligar as a Stealth Rocker, which brings me to my next point.

Switch out Gligar for another defensive wall. Blastoise would do the job well, as it would rid an ice weakness, and be able to deal with rocks via rapid spin. Just use that standard defensive set for this one.

Switch out Xatu for another Pokemon. Xatu has mediocre stats, and is extremely predictable. You no longer need his ability because you have Blastoise to spin away the rocks, and the over meh-ness of Xatu doesn't benefit your team. Switching it out would
rid your team of an electric weakness, ice weakness and rock weakness. I recommend specially defensive Snorlax to take over Xatu's spot as special wall. He can sponge almost all special hits, and can hit back with a decently powerful body slam. He can rest off damage, and is overall a good pokemon.

Anyway, consider using some or all of these changes, because your team has a lot of weaknesses. Any questions you have i'll be happy to answer. Have fun battling!

Thanks for the feedback!
I did switch out some of what you said, and did make my team more consistent. But Snorlax never seemed to do much, so instead I put in umbreon. It can successfully stall out with toxic, wish and protect, as well as wish passing on a sizeable chunk of HP to another Pokemon. The changes I made to the team will be in the OP in a few minutes.

Hello, this is a cool team but I have noticed it has a huge weakness to Heracross and Mienshao (and any Fighting in general to be honest), I don't think you should worry about about Ludicolo because it's a very obscure threat that nobody uses in UU (and Umbreon can deal with it pretty well anyway). What I would do to alleviate your weakness to the aforementioned Fighting types is to replace either Umbreon or Sharpedo, which seem the most replaceable members of your team, for Offensive Trick Room Cofagrigus, as it would give you a good Fighting type check that can also act as an offensive threat thanks to Nasty Plot. In case you decide getting rid of Sharpedo, you could try using Snorlax instead of Umbreon as it fits your team much better, applying much more offensive pressure and not making you lose momentum, a Choice Band (or a Leftovers set if you dislike Choice Band) would be a great option.

Sets:

Cofagrigus (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Trick Room

Snorlax (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake

I honestly like your team. All of my favorite pokes in the UU tier put it in to one team. My suggestion may sound weird but refresh on Blastoise is actually really good. With no reliable way of recovery, and umbreon doesn't have heal bell, it's helpful getting the toxic/burn off Blastoise. After all it's going to be switching in potential rocks/spikes/toxic spikes. That set you currently have is great, but I was just giving you a weird suggestion.
