Dragapult @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
Dragapult haunts National Dex as one of its most terrifying late-game cleaners and wincons. It sports a superb offensive typing along with strong STAB moves, Dragon Dance, and a Z-Move. Said traits reduce the list of reliable defensive counterplay to the Tyranitar formes and the niche Mandibuzz. Offensive counterplay is even scarcer, owing to Dragon Dance, Substitute, and Dragapult's tremendous Speed tier. A Dragon Dance boost lets Dragapult outspeed every Choice Scarf user, while Substitute thwarts priority users such as Weavile, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Mawile. The Z-Move is crucial to Dragapult's success, as a boosted Never-Ending Nightmare is capable of overwhelming bulky Pokemon such as Clefable and Mega Scizor. Entry hazard support is important for Dragapult to facilitate its late-game sweep and wear down checks. Thus, Mew is a remarkable partner on hyper offense, whereas the likes of Clefable, Ferrothorn, and Heatran work well on balance and bulky offense. Dragapult also enjoys wallbreakers such as Bisharp, Rillaboom, Gliscor, Mega Mawile, and Cinderace that can weaken generally bulky Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Toxapex.
