Hello! I’m new to team building (im tired of stealing teams and wanted to build funny stuff) and after a while I was able to get one that I found to work for most matchups (it gets railed by trick room but we don’t have to think abt that) although I would love feedback on the team without replacing roles (speed control, wall breaker ect) unless you think it’s really needed. peaked like right under 1600, like 1590 or something

it’s like a bulky offense hyper offense hybrid, mostly HO

Pokepaste :3

1st: the big maw

Mawile-Mega (M) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Just a funny goober with an ungodly attack stat, with strong priority

2nd: CelestealYoGirl

Celesteela @ Power Herb
Ability: Beast Boost
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Autotomize
- Meteor Beam
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower

normally my lead bc of the incredible amount of good/ neutral matchups it has, and setup from autotomize and meteor beam+Power Herb, Tera dragon covers weaknesses. They also break through walls sometimes with praying that they flinch

3: a good boy

Dragonite (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Ice Spinner
- Earthquake

Just ur average dragonite set, nice to have 80 bp priority

4: of course he’s here

Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Close Combat
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Spinner

You know why he’s here, good all rounder with the ability to steamroll certain matchups with rapid spin boost

5: the funny kitty cat

Meowscarada @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Flower Trick
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

Slightly off normal set with band, used to obliterate def walls, especially due to the large amount of bulky waters (*cough* dondozo)

6: totally normal zapdos

Zapdos-Galar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Defiant
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Stomping Tantrum
- U-turn
- Thunderous Kick

A surprising amount of teams have little to no flying resist and it also works as speed control, been flipping between blaze kick and stomping tantrum bc I have no clue which is better but I think it’s stomp bc it deals with the electric resist

PS: pls tell me how to use the funny little sprites, this is my first post ever
:pokemon_here: so using :/meowscarada: (ignore the slash) would lead to :meowscarada:

This team carried me to 1800, #41 on ladder. Ima make a full on RMT on this, but anyways heres the team.

the dark arts (pokepast.es)

:darkrai:
Pulse+Psyshock is a great combo to beat stall, and z-hypnosis was chosen bc its really easy to cheese stuff out with it. The speed boost lets darkrai beat even booster boulder. NP just abuses sleep turns and overall this is an insane mon that can win games on its own and has so much snowball potential.

:glimmora:
standard stuff, literally just got the set off of smogon.

:zamazenta:
again standard. It can take care of entire teams if darkrai can remove annoying mons like volc and molt and glowking, particularly beating bulky offense teams and such.

:gouging fire:
i opted to run breaking swipe over eq because it lets me get more opportunities to setup. this thing is immune to burn and can be immune to toxic w tera steel, so it's a great physical attacker that can beat even bulkier compositions.

:ogerpon-wellspring:
standard set, lures ferro and dishes out huge damage unless it gets outsped. it's neat because it almost always forces dozo's tera, and darkrai almost always forces clod to tera, which is useful to break stall, and has great synergy with darkrai. I have seen a lot of hydrapple on stall, so play rough is an option. (hydrapple sucks :tangrowth: is based)

:iron crown:
stops the team from losing to scarf lele, and also is a pretty decent wincon on it's own.

There doesn’t seem to be a sample screens team, even tho it’s like the same 5 mons and a flex slot. So here’s my version of screens:
:grimmsnarl::moltres-galar::volcarona::gyarados-mega::serperior::iron treads:
Paste

Rip it to shreds

:rillaboom::ogerpon-cornerstone::hawlucha::heatran::raging_bolt::tapu_fini:

Grassy Terrain BO built around SD Rockpon and Telepathy CM Fini (peaked 1791)

:rillaboom: This should go without saying. Sets Grassy Terrain, knocks off items from its checks, picks off weakened threats with Glide, and pivots out to your threats. Terrain Extender is used over CB here to maximize the potential of Bolt and Fini (more on her later) under Terrain, not to mention the fact that Rockpon is more than strong enough to pick up the slack. EVs here let Rilla live one +2 Superpower from Waterpon after Rocks and outrun defensive Lando-T.

:ogerpon-cornerstone: This is the big hitter of the team. STABs with Superpower at +2 decimate just about every defensive core in the metagame under Terrain, especially with potential Tera Rock added to the mix (Corv drops to Tera Rock Cudgel at +2 after Rocks, for example). Rockpon is used over Waterpon for its ability to break through Grasses and Dragons, and its positive matchups into opposing Bolt and DNite. Superpower also lets you lure Ferro and Kart pretty effectively, opening the floodgates for Bolt and Fini to crazy in the lategame. Sturdy and her natural bulk also give Rockpon some utility into offense, letting her trade positively against huge threats like Valiant, MLop, Ace, and Koko.

:hawlucha: Easily one of the best cleaners in the tier. Grassy Seed and fast Encore actually give it really solid defensive utility into Grounds, Volc, Rilla, Darkrai, or really just any setup mon in general. The given EV spread lets him outrun Scarf Koko and +2 Ceru after proccing Unburden and tank a Rain-boosted Banded Skewda Liquidation after Rocks. Tera Electric has a slew of unique applications here, not only safeguarding Lucha from para, but also letting him set up on Zapdos and Torn-T, stomach priority from Scizor and opposing Bolt, and ground itself in the Terrain while also reducing damage from EQs in the process, effectively giving it no weaknesses as long as Terrain is active.

:heatran: Obligatory Rocker and Do-Not-Auto-Lose-To-Lele button. Not much to report on here; fairly standard Balloon Heatran with Taunt to pin down fat mons like Dozo, Clod, Pex, Dirge, and Glowking. Still provides a ton of utility on top of that too, serving as a decent stopgap against Lele, Kart, and opposing Heatran if its Balloon is still in tact. Tera Fairy with Air Balloon lets him stonewall any and all Gouging Fire variants, letting you easily dispose of it with two Earth Powers or forcing it to Tera, either way dealing with a pretty massive threat to the archetype.

:raging_bolt: The first of your Calm Minders. Raging Bolt actually has an unbelievable amount of synergy with Grassy Terrain, not only benefitting from weakened EQs, but also greatly appreciating the passive healing and giving the archetype a much-needed Hurricane switch-in. Booster Energy lets him deal huge damage with both your Electric and Dragon moves right out of the gate (notably lets you OHKO Lele at +1 with Tbolt) and is generally more conducive to sweeping than Dragonium-Z thanks to being able to run Dragon Pulse over Draco. The given EV spread creeps Gliscor by two points and tanks a Specs Lele Moonblast from full, with the rest going into Defense for extra resilience against MegaSciz, Waterpon, and Ceru. Tera Fairy is generally just a good all-purpose Tera that shields Bolt from the occasional Tusk, Chomp, or Lati twin while also potentially letting you catch a Lele or Weavile off guard if he's healthy enough.

:tapu_fini:Finally, the oddball of the team. Fairly standard moveset for CM Fini, with Scald being self-explanatory, Taunt letting Tapu Fini shut down fatmons like Mola, Pex, and Heatran, and Draining Kiss keeping it healthy while dishing out damage. Fini provides you with a sponge for Weavile, Urshifu, Hamurott, and Heatran - all mons this team really hates dealing with, as well as another beneficiary of Rockpon baiting in Ferro. As aforementioned, this Fini actually uses Telepathy over Misty Surge, which while it may sound strange at first, actually brings with it a slew of benefits on this team. She benefits greatly from the extra healing from Terrain, her Scalds can actually burn (which is huge for letting Fini play the long-game in certain matchups and keep big threats under control), and the EQ damage reduction lets her dominate Ground-types easily, all while retaining her resilience against status thanks to Taunt. The EV spread here lets Fini outrun Gliscor and knock it out from full with a +2 Scald while maximizing its physical bulk and recovery from Grassy Terrain. Tera Poison gives Fini an full immunity to Toxic, grants her important resistances to Grass, Poison, and Fairy while keeping her Fighting resistance, lets her absorb TSpikes in an emergency, and further takes advantage of the Terrain by abusing the advent of weakened EQs to retain a positive Ground matchup.

Made this stuff for LT even though I didn't qualify. Ended up plateauing around 1700 or just in the 1600s for most of the runs iirc.

:Tapu Koko::Hawlucha::Landorus-Therian::Heatran::Ogerpon-Wellspring::Dragonite:
First team I used, built it during the Zamazenta suspect but it's really nice at getting out of the low ladder quickly. I really like Hawlucha in NatDex and wanted to build with it since it lets you win a lot of MUs really quickly and its not super difficult to setup either. Once the Zapdos start appearing then you can try to lure it with Lando or remove it alternatively with SD Pon or Offtran. Air Balloon on Heatran is to help me deal with opposing Lando, SD Garchomp, and Clodsire. Ran Tera Fire Dnite last since stuff like Iron Valiant and Corv can be hella annoying for me and its also generally good for farming noobs because of #Terastal.

:Darkrai::Slowking-Galar::Landorus-Therian::Alomomola::Serperior::Heatran:
Clicking with Specs Darkrai is always funny to me so I just paired it with a lot of pivots that happen to deal with the Darkrai revenge killers. Double Para core with Glowking + Serp is also great synergy with Darkrai.

:Diancie-Mega::Hawlucha::Ogerpon-Wellspring::Darkrai::Iron Crown::Tapu Koko:
Essentially similar idea to the above Lucha HO, but this time I wanted to just load a bunch of mons that mog stall and then let Lucha be the main offense check with Crown. During the run I didn't really have a use for Fightium-Z on Darkrai so I switched it to Darkium to nuke some random shit while still being threatening vs Spdef Heatran and Ferrothorn. This team has Toxic Koko because Raging Bolt is annoying

:Toxapex::Clodsire::Blissey::Weavile::Corviknight::Dondozo:
Fairly wonky stall but Vile makes it work through its flaws. Was a good pick in order to cteam some of the really annoying HO and Offences (The Iron Crown and Mega Medicham ones mainly) without needing to burn my Tera.

:Charizard-Mega-Y::Raging Bolt::Blaziken::Landorus-Therian::Ferrothorn::Slowking-Galar:
This is a heavily modified version of a team I made for somebody else, but I liked the idea of turning it into a semi-sun. Blaziken made for a nice cleaner although not the most easy thing in the world to setup so dropping Z for Tera helped a lot with that.

:Corviknight::Landorus-Therian::Iron Moth::Kartana::Dragonite::Tapu Koko:
Now this is just an offense with Corv over Iron Crown because the ladder really liked fuckin with Excadrill and Grasspon to an annoying extent.

:Hawlucha::Ceruledge::Iron Treads::Tapu Koko::Ogerpon-Wellspring::Dragonite: (Sample Sub)
My last team I used before calling it quits. Reverted back to Lucha HO but this time I had a more clear idea of what I needed to prep for in order to maintain some level of consistency. Booster Treads is a nice catch-all to beat most of the other common HO leads and also lets me get some great chip against Gliscor and Rillaboom before going down. Toxic Koko is still a nice way to punish Bolt so I ran it again on this team. Also figured that Fire Punch Dnite + Lucha + Ceruledge was enough means to beat Ferro so I opted for Encore on Wellspring to punish Defog Corv and Dondozo to secure my stall MU (also helps to troll Raging Bolt more). Dragonium Z on Dnite helps break through threats like Slowbro, Toxapex, and Zapdos for Hawlucha. Sash on Ceruledge is to act as an emergency out against opposing HO but also is good to deal with Darkrai and Excadrill. A lot of the Mtars on ladder stay in on Ceruledge asw so Close Combat helps lessen the trouble this team could have with Sand.

Weavile has a good stab move in knock off offering good utility whilst having ice shard for priority and triple axel to 0HKO Sash suicide leads. nidoking is also there to break physical walls for weavile. they are both paired with an effective 4 mon stall which can check most common threats

Hey Guys. Its Rantox back again and this time with more hyper offence teams.

The first one is Mega Gyarados + Salamence combo. Peak 1678
https://pokepast.es/26a6f90ceb98bff4

I went with dual screens Grimmsnarl, but with foul play this time. Landorus-Therian is the the rocker with electric immunity and can wall break with SD + rockium Z. Mega Gyarados is Taunt + DD with dual stab and has mold breaker which is vital for stall. Volcarona is standard quiver dance offensive with 3 attacks. I juggeled between Flamethrower and Fire Blast for stab and then went for psychic because screw Toxapex and Giga Drain for beating fat waters. Iron Crown is the double dance sweeper with booster energy making it a potent threat under screens. It has focus blast with tera fighting which is frustrating but it is what it. Lastly we have Dragon Dance Salamence with moxie and with Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake and Tera Blast. I went for Tera Blast Electric to give it a paralysis immunity which means it can set up and with a kill, it can snowball effectively. Dual Wingbeat albeit with frustrating accuracy is crucial for breaking sashes.

My other teams below are built around my favourite water starter Feraligatr. With Tera Dark Feraligatr.

So I made 5 different screens teams with it and reached often above 1625 with them. You can see the elo of them in the replays.

With Mega Aerodactlyl (Grimm screens) https://pokepast.es/7dc963693ee1604b
With Mega Pinsir (Grimm screens) https://pokepast.es/15904a79aaf7fec5
With Mega Pinsir (Koko Screens) https://pokepast.es/33814d624b99180f
With Mega Scizor (Grimm screens) https://pokepast.es/824169b5b942cd9d
With Mega Charizard X (Koko Screens) https://pokepast.es/d3342f7cb642be98

The first 2 teams with Mega Aero, Mega Pinsir had Iron Treads for rocks, spinning and earthquake and ice spinner for coverage. It was a lead mon basically with booster and I rarely switch it out. Grimm Screens is standard with taunt and foul play. I went for Feraligatr in all of my teams with a simple 3 attacks + DD with Liquidation, Crunch and Ice Punch. Sheer Force packs a punch when it hits neutrally or super effectively. The evs were to outspeed iron valiant with a booster at +2 speed. With Screens its possible often to get to +2. Tera Dark for strong crunch and helps in avoiding future sight. Haxours was SD mold breaker with tera electric, scale shot and CC and loaded dice to hit 5 times and break sashes. Mold breakers messes up stall so unaware mons are on their knees, when they say Haxorus and are forced to tera. Volcarona is a standard set in all but I went for Flamethrower in some of them.

My Mega scizor team. has Latios as the special sweeper with agility calm, weakness policy and stored power. Double dance with tera speed can make him a dangerous win con towards the end. This is for my mega scizor team and for all the above Koko screens. Mega Scizor was SD, dual wingbeat and CC with adamant to hit as hard as possible but also packing strong priority. 216 speed evs outspeed base 70s, 252 evs in Attack and the rest in HP.

Mega Aerodactyl was with 3 attacks + DD with wingbeat and edge quake. After a DD, its the fastest mon in the game. Only weather sweepers outspeed after a DD.

Mega Pinsir is typical SD Return + Close combat + quick attack for priority. Hits pretty hard after an SD.

Zard X is jolly with Flare Blitz, Earthquake and Outrage to do as much damamge as possible. Can Win depending on match ups.

Latios followed suit on my Koko screens. Revaroom was an interesting mon with Gunk shot, High Horsepower and Temper Flare with Firium to fuck over corviknights. Adamant for max power possible and hits hard. Excadrill was the suicide lead of choice on the Koko teams due to toxic, mold breaker and tera ghost to block spin and rapid spin to remove our own hazards and Earthquake. Koko was a standard set on screens and Koko offered preventing dozo rest with pivoting moves. Here are the replays with the Feraligatr team

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2152699174 - Mega Aero sweep

I used Mega absol on the Koko screens structure but didnt post the team as I just used it in mega slot where it wasnt effective unfortunately.

Mega Sceptile + Blastoise HO with Koko screens

https://pokepast.es/425fb3e2883eb09e

I wanted to try Mega Sceptile with SD under screens but it wasnt as good and I had a better experience with Mega Sceptile in Nat dex with a 4 attacks special or mixed Earthquake or sub seed. But I wanted to try as Sceptile is my favourite Grass stater and my favourite mon of all time. I used SD leaf blade, scale shot and earthquake. It took me a while I managed to get some work out of Mega Sceptile later after testing. I wanted to try shell smash Blastoise with Electric terrain and tera blast to lure pex, corv and annoying fat water shit. It needs Hydro and modest as its not powerful enough and Ice beam is for grasses and Landos. Latios was double dance and often key against stall and bulkier teams. Revaroom is powerful with firirum z for corv and high horsepower and temper flare make for good coverage. Excadrill is suicuide lead with toxic, spin and tera ghost and Koko is stanadrd dual screens. My peak is 1633 with this. Some replays here

Overall, all these teams are fun to use and can work provided you are good in predicting. Have fun with them, if you want to try it out and if you like something different. The stall match up was tough without Haxorus teams.

Here is a teamdump of the teams I used or considered to use for invitational. There will be some teams before the tour I think still work as well. I’ll also explain my team choices for each week and my thought process for them since I stole teams / used seemingly questionable teams. The teams I used that were made by other people will NOT have the pastes shared, just thoughts on why I think the teams are good and why I played them. Teams will be sample submissions if they are highlighted as such.

Pre-invitational
:Primarina: :landorus-Therian: :raging bolt: :Darkrai: :Scizor-mega: :iron valiant:- Sample submission

You all know I like prim, so here’s the team I liked the most with it. Although Zama is gone and its defensive utility has diminished a bit, it’s still useful at checking stuff like heatran, Darkrai, and Urshifu. It’s also a great early game breaker, doing well against a myriad of balances in the tier and allowing mzor or Val to clean late game. Lando is not so self explanatory this time, being a more defensive variant instead of being a lead due to gaining the team more opportunities for momentum as well as doing normal lando things, like checking gouging and mmedi while also helping against raging bolt which is nice for prim. The team has many shared checks, allowing for them to be overwhelmed easier and for the team to break better. For example, Prima helps overwhelm stuff like Ferro and gking for stuff like bolt and ival and generally makes the other sweepers able to win easier due to its early game breaking and trading capabilities, furthered by the custap berry. Ival is cool here because it’s basically like a second prim, just for cleaning late game against its weakened checks that it and prim share.

:Serperior: :Darkrai: :landorus-Therian: :iron crown: :lopunny-mega: :gouging fire:
Serp is a cool guy, being able to cheese stuff with glare and literally be the most consistent cheese mon ever, and it should rise on vr. Anyway, this was some slop I made with it and it’s not the best build but it gets the job done. Serp helps check stuff like Glisc and pon while also providing para for rai and gouging. Serp can also be Tera blast ground if you want to further pressure heatran. Darkrai takes care of stuff like the latis and gking while also giving immediate power off of the pivots like crown and Lando. Crown Lando as a core is pretty obvious, just keep pivoting while also doing stuff like checking lele and bolt. Mega lop is cope speed control for not being able to run zama but it works well as such lol. Gouging helps take on stuff like Volcarona and yard and provides a general fire resist for the team, plus drag z can autowin some mus.

:Serperior: :Diancie-mega: :victini: :Darkrai: :great tusk: :kyurem:
More Serp stuff, although it’s just cheese and mu fish this time lol. Serp takes on a supporting role, glaring stuff, denying fog and hazards (and other annoying stuff) with taunt + fog, and giving a water resist against rain. Mdia is standard lead, and combined with serp essentially completely denies hazards for kyurem and victini. Z Cele victini is a good choice against Lando lele / val steel teams. DD subpressure kyurem is pretty funny but it can be a cool wincon at times, stalling out stuff like heatran and potentially snowballing given you don’t get 2 ispear hits. Rai and speed booster tusk act as speed control / ground for the team. Just don’t load into Stall and you should be… somewhat fine. Overall I don’t like this team because I’m not a believer in non Lando offenses and it’s mainly cheese.

Invitational teams / reasonings
week 1: VS. Thebestever543

G1: :Ursaluna: :Tyranitar-mega: :tangrowth: :slowking-Galar: :Tapu Koko: :Corviknight:
Now on the sample teams, so it has to be good right? I was wondering if Mmx would play the celebi game with me like how he did with hidin in wc, bringing stall when he knew Hidin wouldn’t load pon / Mmedi because of the threat of celebi. So I decided to cover both possibilities of him loading stall / fat and celebi / some kind of lele balance with pursuit by loading mtar + steel + gking along with big breaker in Ursaluna. Luna gets opportunities from Koko’s pivoting on gking and heatran (since this Ursa is max speed) and Koko also provides speed control for the team since we have to cope with Zama being gone as speed control. Tangrowth is for pon and sd glisc, and with pwhip it does that well and doesn’t let pon set up on it. Hp ice is for sd Glisc, especially since Corv can’t beat it long term. Worry seed with hp fire works just as well though, and frees up the fthrower slot on gking for like fsight. Very solid team imo

G2: :Torkoal: :great tusk: :Alomomola: :raging bolt: :gouging fire: :Corviknight:
Not going to lie, I was just inspired to load sun because of music I was listening to despite the team not being the best to load into mmx. This is the sun that I saw when Hidin posted some full sun once and made some little tweaks here and there (I’m posting the paste because the original team was posted in a chatroom iirc). Bolt + gouging make sun… well sun, without them the team would be pointless to load. Mola helps against tran and rain while also providing pivot support. Corv is for lele and a ground immune while also being a useful fogger. I think I was eject button on the original version but I deleted that for some reason. Scarf tusk is for speed control out of sun while still being a decent cleaner and surprise control factor. IMO it’s not bad on sun teams or even teams with yard because speed control can feel like doodoo water at times.

G3: :landorus-Therian: :iron moth: :Scizor-mega: :Primarina: :dragonite: :Meowscarada:
I wasn’t confident I could build a good ho that I wanted to use to exploit the offbeat balances I saw in mmx’s scout, so I used my resources of being a helper on U.S south and saw a team by pdt I was intrigued by, so I stole the team and made multiple changes, like adjusting some evs and whatnot. I won’t share the pastes because it is made by another person after all, but I heard from a little birdie that moth apparently burnt down those balances mmx uses and it did just so in game once positioned correctly. We have lead meow (these things were shown in the game) which gives early game knocks and sets spikes for stuff like moth and prim. Besides that nothing else is too special that happened, moth broke early game and dnite won when shifu came in.

Week 2: VS. Seth
G1: :Sableye-mega: :chansey: :Volcarona: :clodsire: :Dondozo: :Corviknight:
I was playing wc champion and a prime Seth here, so I decided that the only way I could win was doing a mu fish that I hoped would work. Turns out it didn’t, but hear me out. I was looking through old smou pastes and saw bug z Volcarona stall that was used in SPL I think. The objective of that team was to exploit vanilla balances / offenses by being a more aggressive stall, as well as have bug z Volc nuke mainly Mtar teams. Volca in general was for a potential landocrown team or Mtar / Weav + fairy breaker team I was expecting. We trade Glisc and pex for a more proactive stall structure, which doesn’t always work out but can be in the right mus. Besides that, everything else is regular stall stuff. The standard unaware core and chansey + corv cover a large swathe of the meta defensively which helps out the more aggressive msab and Volc stuff. Overall don’t load this team, no Gliscor stall is pretty bad LOL

G2: :mawile-mega: :victini: :iron valiant: :landorus-Therian: :Ogerpon-wellspring: :kyurem:
Another pdt team so no paste. I liked the core of Victini + pon + kyurem into Seth’s scout because I was expecting some Lando Ferro stuff and wanted to capitalize on that. I put in prough pon last second which worked out for mu but I got an unlucky miss against the kommo o. Kyurem also feasts on standard stuff like the balances seth loads and I wanted to test out scale shot kyurem in the game thinking it may come in handy for a scarf lando which I was expecting as well. Mmaw is there in case he loaded stall for some reason, but it’s also just a good wincon in general and could’ve been nice into a gking Ferro team.

Prep teams: :Venusaur-mega: :Volcanion: :Corviknight: :Tapu lele: :Garchomp: :Meowscarada:
Wonderful frog week, it seemed. Team was made to cover for any pex / pon stuff Seth would load while also being good into rain and Lando + Ferro stuff with Volcanion. Good team but we didn’t go to g3 so this was left in the dust. Lele is good speed control, and meow clicks knock and gives momentum for Volcanion and Garchomp. Toxic on volcan was there because I didn’t want to give any free setup turns to a potential thugnite load. Garchomp with rock z is actually rlly nice at keeping rocks up unlike drag z which is cool. Btw make the mvenu actually have spatk invest it has more of a presence that way, I guess I was just super worried about pon.

:iron valiant: :Ogerpon-cornerstone: :iron crown: :dragonite: :landorus-Therian: :Volcarona:
This was going to be a g2 team but I last second chose the pdt team. Wanted to experiment with sd ice punch val to catch the standard lando gking steel stuff off guard as well as Rockpon exploiting Seth trying to guard against waterpon too much. 3a booster cm crown is a set by Hidin and actually cooks teams like that too and has great breaking capabilities along with being good speed control. Besides that there is nothing else to cover rlly.

Week 3: VS. ARTYMASION
G1: :landorus-Therian: :iron crown: :Hawlucha: :Tapu koko: :Medicham-mega: :Ogerpon-wellspring: - Sample submission
This is a remake of the famous Xtra ho from smou. I knew arty could’ve thrown some curveball offense but also knew he liked to load fat, so I decided to use a team with something that does well into offense (Hawlucha) and fat / stall breakers in Mmedi and Waterpon. We obviously replace Av gear with Av crown, but in place of kyurem black we put Ogerpon-W, which has just as much breaking power as kyub did in the old days. Prough is for a potential dragon because my Scout was full of pon and I was expecting bolt / kommo o / mtias or mtios. Because of that we can put on z move Koko which is much better than specs nowadays. Unfortunately I got goobed by webs and an Tera steel lele which I was not expecting. Overall, this structure has definitely held the test of time I would definitely recommend using it.

G2: :Darkrai: :samurott-hisui: :landorus-Therian: :lopunny-mega: :raging bolt::iron crown:
This team is by hidin so shoutouts to him for giving me this team. Won’t give out the full paste again, but the thought process was that I could overwhelm any balance structures arty would load with spikes from hsam and a nplot rai which has little to no defensive checks. Unfortunately I literally loaded into the worst mu of all time (ting-Lu + scarf shifu) so it didn’t rlly get to do much. besides that, lefties bolt is for shifu / pon stuff and the z move was already being used on rai. Mlop is good speed control and consistent and breaking down offenses / ho. Lando crown is one of the best pivoting cores in the tier so that’s self explanatory.

Prep teams: :Swampert-mega: :pelipper: :Manaphy: :Ferrothorn: :tornadus-Therian: :Archaludon:
This is the sample smou rain remade. Looking back on it, I don’t know why I prepped rain of all things into the guy who literally loads gking on all of his balances and is kyurem’s strongest soldier, but I was more expecting some balanced offense with Rotom wash as his inconsistent water resist and I wanted to also have good fat / stall mu so there is a Manaphy. There is Tera dragon on ferro / arch to bait yard and waterpon, 2 guys rain rlly does not like. Knock on peli also helps to free up twave on ferro and helps to be more proactive into pex and gking.

:Diancie-mega: :landorus-Therian: :iron moth: :iron crown: :dragonite: :samurott-hisui: - Sample submission
I would’ve probably brought this to g3. This team was meant to be a teamcomp team but I also liked it because arty never loaded pex and abused the fact that he uses gking > pex usually. It also did well in testing. I went more in depth when I make my teamcomp post, but Diancie and moth have good synergy, with Diancie breaking down stuff like gking, dnite, and Mtias for moth and providing mbounce support for it. Moth in return helps to beat steels like mzor and crown more easily on top of wearing down stuff like pex with Tera ground. Dnite helps against pon, and there is standard Lando crown. Scarf hsam is speed control, more easily takes advantage of gking, and gives spike support to help out against mdia / moth checks like Mtar and crown. (https://pokepast.es/0658eabe3cf04131 here is a shifu version which is probably better because scarf shifu is broken, use this as the sample sub. I only kept the original team and description because that’s what I prepped for against arty).

:mawile-mega: :Garchomp: :Zapdos: :Urshifu: :Serperior: :iron crown: - Sample submission
Funnily enough, I took inspiration from a smou teamdump that arty gave me once when building this. Anyway, wanted to exploit fat by using one of my favorite mons in mmaw. There isn’t anything too special about this team and it’s relatively easy to pilot. Building mmaw is kinda hard to do in this tier so I’m happy I came out with a build I liked. I was comfortable with this kind of team so that’s mainly why I considered using it, and I decided to go with that approach because I thought you couldn’t rlly prep for arty so I had this team on deck.

…And that’s it! It was a fun ride. Thanks to Sealoo, isza, and Kyo for considering me for an invitational of all things despite me in all honesty not being qualified for it. If anyone needs me to help build / scout / suggest teams for NDPL, I’ll be there! :heart:

After reading through this thread, I went down the nostalgic rabbit hole and browsed through some of my tour games from the past year or so. Unfortunately many good replays were lost but I’d like to share some of my favorite teams from this format.

Round 1 NDOU Trio vs Elfueson
:Iron Valiant: :Tyranitar Mega: :Heatran: :Rotom Wash: :Celebi: :Landorus Therian:

https://pokepast.es/f9eabb4901eea855

After all the major bans in early generation 9 NDOU, the tier was very fun at the time. I remember specifically feeling very attached to Choice Scarf Iron Valiant and these CeleTran and CeleTar cores. That stuck with me today and still has a big influence on my view on building today. I think this team represents the best of me, I was willing to take more risk and I was more comfortable when playing at my own pace. I’d like to note that this was the debut of my Smogon tournament career. And lastly, this team was created over a year ago and a lot of things have changed since then. If I get anything incorrect, please correct me. Let’s get into the sets!

:Iron Valiant: Mixed Scarf, I’m running dual stab with specific coverage options. Knock Off was added to force progress early because Tyranitar did not have access until DLC 2. Furthermore, Gholdengo was still roaming the tier and was a huge metagame influence in these days. Gholdengo could be seen as an easy switch-in to Valiant, especially once MB is revealed, so being able to threaten it and revenge it on low was very important. Thunderbolt was good coverage for Corviknoght because pressure would stall an uninvested IV’s Close Combat fairly easily. It also hit other Pokemon that would otherwise have an easy switch-in like Toxapex. Scarf Tera Fairy MB was an amazing late game cleaning option, I genuinely thought this Pokemon was ban worthy for a very brief time. Lastly, I do recognize this team has no other speed control! I think it had to do with my obsessive nature of over optimization on ladder.

Moving onto the next team member! :Tyranitar Mega:
As stated earlier, Tyranitar did not have access to Knock Off yet, and Crunch was a mediocre option at this time because of Kingambit and Great Tusk. Both of them resist it’s stabs and threaten to OHKO it back, Great Tusk can even come in freely to remove hazards. A popular set for Tyranitar at the time was, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Pursuit and Earthquake/Ice Punch. It’s possible Dragon Dance existed too but I have no recollection seeing it used in tournaments. With that being said, Fire Punch was used to hit both Ferrothorn and Kingambit. Tyranitar’s typing and ability to pursuit Celebi’s checks was a core part of the strategy to setup and win with Defensive NP Celebi.

:Heatran: I love me a classic stall breaker Heatran set. Pretty standard stuff, I’ll note that Tera Flying was used to trap Clodsire. I was adamant about Flying>Grass because of Iron Valiant, Moth, Great Tusk etc. In hindsight, Grass would have been better but I didn’t want to make any changes to my original team.

:Rotom Wash: A consistent Kingambit check, always threatening to Will-Wisp. In addition to checking a variety of physical attackers and granting a better match up verses rain, Rotom-Wash formed a strong Volt-Turn core with two trappers. There are no Wall Breakers on this team so it wasn’t the main strategy of this team. Last thing worth noting, Rotom-Wash checked Pokémon like Tornadus-Therian that gave Celebi many issues.

:Celebi: Functioning as a mid-game Pivot and late-game win condition, Celebi was an important part of this teams success. In all honesty, I don’t remember what purpose the EV spread served. I felt that in this time of the meta, Psychic was more important to have than Giga Drain because of Sneasler and many other relevant Fighting types running around. Psychic also allowed Celebi to hit Flying types like Zapdos harder and Bulky Pivots like Toxapex who could come in and slow progress. Aura Sphere was specifically for Kingambit but had the added benefit of hitting Heatran and Ferrothorn too. Covert Cloak to setup on Gargancl, prevent flinches from Greninja and SpDef drops from Dragapult. Tera Fairy could offer Celebi a more consistent defensive typing to setup on specific targets or check opposing Pokemon like Walking Wake and Life Orb Battle Bond Greninja for example.

Last but certainly not least… :Landorus Therian:
No need to get into detail, I chose Landorus for this team to punish U-Turners and also outclassed many other defoggers at the time due to Gholdengo. Tera Ghost… I don’t know remember or understand why, maybe to block spin?! Not very good in hindsight hehe.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I would love to do more if people are interested. There’s a few other teams I’d like to share. Thank you for your time and attention.

hey figured i'd just make a big dump for my ndlt poffs and invitational run so i could just retire for a month

Invitational
R1 - vs hidin
:Urshifu::Slowking-Galar::Landorus-Therian::Heatran::Scizor-Mega::Raging Bolt:
:Darkrai::Landorus-Therian::Ogerpon-Wellspring::Dragonite::Iron Moth::Great Tusk:
I used the third team in w2

G1 team was an old ndwc team option I found in my builder that I ended up really liking, made a few tweaks and it worked, g2 is just a very standard ho that felt good, this is the week I had the least to work with as it was the beginning of the tour and it was a brand new meta w/o zama.

R2 - vs Soulking0
:Medicham-Mega::Samurott-Hisui::Landorus-Therian::Kartana::Darkrai::Slowking-Galar:
:Ogerpon-Cornerstone::Great Tusk::Diancie Mega::Iron Crown::gouging fire::serperior:

G1 team is the third team I had prepped for w1 but I slapped on hp ice on lando > taunt, then I wanted to use serperior so I built the other team. I have no clue what the third team was, I prob just recycled it for next week

R4 - vs Suzuya
:tapu koko::hawlucha::medicham mega::iron crown::darkrai::landorus therian:
:lopunny mega::samurott hisui::landorus therian::heatran::darkrai::slowking galar:
:scizor mega::landorus therian::ogerpon wellspring::darkrai::gouging fire::iron valiant:

I tried making kokolucha and ended up p much just remaking xtrashine ho, other two teams are very standard. I mega choked g1 and then g3 i just did not expect taunt samu which lost me the game

R5 - vs Luthier
:hatterene::cresselia::ursaluna::mawile mega::sinistcha::stakataka:
:charizard mega y::gouging fire::landorus therian::kartana::alomomola::jirachi:
:diancie mega::dragonite::ogerpon wellspring::darkrai::iron crown::iron moth:

My boy darkness told me to load tr and helped me build it asw and it looked really good into the scout, then I wanted to mix it up a bit and brought sun and then some bad ho that is 6-0d by rocks that I have no clue why I brought.

Lt playoffs
R1 - vs Kyo
:urshifu::darkrai::tapu koko::garchomp::corviknight::heatran:
:glimmora::great tusk::iron crown::kommo-o::ogerpon wellspring::ceruledge:
:medicham mega::ogerpon cornerstone::dragonite::samurott hisui::iron treads::iron moth:

This week I finally recognized my 99% landorus usage so I switched it up and used a chomp team, then some glimmora ho bc tspikes looked amazing into the scout, sub crown is an insane tech that is meant to beat ferro and twave gking, notably beats gking and pex so heavily punishes attempts at removing tspike, third team is just spikes + medi + other guys.

R2 - vs seth
:kartana::urshifu::scizor mega::iron moth::landorus therian::raging bolt:
:ogerpon::samurott hisui::primarina::tapu koko::landorus therian::slowking galar:

Z kart looked good into 100% lando/gliscor usage, taunt bolt is a very underrated tech that helps vs stall and stuff like ferro/scior, its supposed to be tera fairy but it fucked up and loaded tera dragon in the game, second team is the same idea, lum pon lets it set up on lando gliscor pex and ferro very consistently, also wanted to try out primarina and it fit this team p well. Third team has a forbidden tech that the world is not yet ready for.

overall i am extremely dissapointed in my performance these past two tours and I think a short break from mons is long overdue. Tier is p shit to play, darkrai mean you cannot run anything besides offense bc he has 0 defensive counterplay, hopefully we ban him and resus pon before ndpl so the tier can be in a p good spot, ik the latter is extremely optimistic but the former should have already happened a while ago.

Shoutouts to my bros Darkness 789 Tempo di anguria Mrbanana45 for helping me all throughout both of these tours

This is a team dump for my ND Invitational run. I was surprised I got invited for this in the first place, but I'm thankful for the fun experience. Underneath the team pastes will be a minor yap session where I go over my thoughts during the prep (if applicable) and team explanations if necessary.

W1 vs SULO
G1: :Iron Valiant: :landorus-therian: :slowking-galar: :darkrai: :ogerpon-wellspring: :garganacl:
G2: :salamence: :scizor-mega: :pecharunt: :darkrai: :landorus-therian: :dragonite:
I really didn't have any new teams at this time so I picked whatever looked solid enough in my builder.

G1: The idea was to let ival clean up with super-boosted hex's. Landorus-t and slowking are relics of the zamazenta era, they can easily be changed to eq and 252 hp/128 def/128 speed bold and for slowking to move sptk to spdf. Ogerpon and darkrai are flexable wincons and garganacl is the stealth rocker and lele check if tera'd.

G2: Leads are quite flexible for a HO, darkrai can lead off with some attacks or hypnosis if you expect lando against lando and lando works against teams where you want rocks up asap. Salamence is on the team is because its one of my favorites as a kid and it dumpsters mola/gking/gliscor cores and acts as a back-up ogerpon check. Scizor is nice as the only weavile counter on the team and provides nice priority and offensive presence. dragonite and pecharunt both show the teams age, but they function as a nuke/priority/pon check for the former and a bulky wincon for the ladder.

W2 vs Tempo
G1: :blaziken: :tapu lele: :landorus-therian: :iron crown: :samurott-hisui: :iron valiant:
G2: :pelipper: :tornadus-therian: :archaludon: :swampert-mega: :ferrothorn: :manaphy:
G3: :gouging fire: :ogerpon-wellspring: :landorus-therian: :iron crown: :mawile-mega: :latias:
To be honest I didn't think I would win this week, the other times I fought tempo I got rolled. I chose the first two teams because I felt comfortable with them as I used them a lot before and they are straight forward to use. But I felt I really needed something unexpected to give me an edge, which is where the third team came in.

G3: This team was created from an idea from the ND room. The idea behind bulwark gouging fire was to punish attempts to chip it down and to scout any scarf revenge kill attempts to gauge whether it is a smart idea to tera or not. EV wise I went for the magic numbers of 405 hp and 271 speed (outspeed lop at +1) with the rest dumped into attack. The weak attack stat is somewhat mitigated by the booster attack. Next is ogerpon, which is there to ease up the rain mu and serve as its own breaker and or sweeper. Landorus is the resident rocker and I brought back z-fly because nuking opposing grounds to make it easier for gouging fire and mawile to clean house. Crown is the spdf sponge of choice and completes the volt turn core, though I would recommend changing the ev spread to 252 hp/20 sptk/240 spdf modest as I messed up the spread. I wanted a second intimidator and ground smasher so maw was my pick. Idk why but I became ORAS pilled and shoved all the remaining utility (and hwish) to base latias, which in the game died immediately but I hope you all can fulfil its designated role of sponging ogerpon and fires while fogging, tricking and dying.

W4 vs Crying
G1: :gouging fire: :iron boulder: :landorus-therian: :serperior: :scizor-mega: :dragonite:
G2: :kyurem: :slowking-galar: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :kartana: :landorus-therian: :lopunny-mega:
G3: :darkrai: :volcarona: :ogerpon-wellspring: :tapu lele: :landorus-therian: :iron crown:
Didn't expect to win here at all. First team i prepared was a straight forward HO with an urshifu-living-lando, nothing more to say about it. Ill give my thoughts on g2/g3 teams below.

G2: I got greedy and thought I can get away with a team like this. Its a pivot heavy team requiring maximum kyurem opportunities, but my skill level was not good enought to execute the gameplan well. Kyurem is a cool set, with tera ice blizzard after a slowking chilly being a cant miss nuke, though you need to play extremely aggressively to make use of it properly. Slowking, urshifu and landorus were the pivot core used to cover special sponging, revenge killing, and hazards respectively. Kartana was the fogger and pon check while lopunny was there to clean up.

G3: Another HO, but focused around a tech I liked in ou which was roseli berry darkrai. This item lets you be greedy against Ival and lele and twave them in return without having to give up tera. It may seem a little misplaced because I already have an av crown and a moth but the insurance is nice occasionally. Rest of the team is also a little weird with overlapping defensive roles like sub volc + lele and a slower crown and lando on HO in general. Team is quite good in testing regardless due to the strength of HO in this tier.

W6 vs Weaselfie
G1: :gouging fire: :iron crown: :diancie-mega: :meowscarada: :dragonite: :urshifu-rapid-strike:
G2: :tapu koko: :iron crown: :ogerpon-wellspring: :garchomp: :landorus-therian: :mawile-mega:
I got lazy this week in the prep department. No practicing and using teams which on paper are "good enough" but are unproven until I played the set. Definitely could have given a better performance as the match ups were pretty even, but my ego made me think I can autopilot against a proven player. Teams are still fine though.

G1: Another dual lead hyper offense, idea was to stack two substitute users (not counting diancie) to take advantage of toxic spikes wearing down their grounded checks like lopunny, and scarf lele/urshifu. At the time the idea made sense, but after revision spikes would be superior outside of HO vs HO scenarios. The lead off is flexible, leading diancie into non urshifu teams and leading the cat vs the bear. Use the sweepers in whatever way you wish to overwhelm the opponent.

G2: Watching some VGC put the idea in my head of using specs koko as a walmart miraidon with a team focused on overwhelming the usually solo ground, unfortunately in game there were two grounds, a gking and mega latias, so it didn't work out. The offensive synergy is quite good on the team, though the ogerpon set can realistically be superpower as the last move. Gotta be aggressive in order to make the most out of every turn and aim for a koko or chomp clean up.

W7 vs Luthier
G1: :darkrai: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :landorus-therian: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :slowking-galar: :scizor-mega:
G2: :gourgeist: :gouging fire: :great tusk: :diancie-mega: :iron valiant: :dragonite:
I'm disappointed with the prep process for this week, only managed to build one competent team which was untested at the time and was piloted really poorly. The other 'team' came from the thought of "it would be funny" and a half assed punish to urshifu speed control on bulkier teams only to have a 0-1000 mu into the other common speed control option (scarf lele). Don't really know what happened here because I really wanted this MU to win it, self sabotage at its finest.

G1 : Another idea I stole from ou, 4 attack rai. Dark-Z is so strong that you can get away with running one extra coverage slot for ice beam which can snipe kommo-o, gliscor, raging bolt, great tusk and dragonite with no need for set up. Ogerpon cornerstone was also another mon who I think is really cool and would work well with 4a rai because it can smash through the special walls which darkrai would lack the breaking power for. The last 4 slots do work for the team, lando rocks, urshifu is speed control and slowking/scizor provide special walling and a secondary win con as well. Main issue is no hazard removal for cornerstone which can be fixed.

No explanation for g2 team is ass.

My most successful NatDex team yet. Of All Time. featuring The Sub Endeavour Mega Diancie set Xeeted by Smogon's Twitter
https://pokepast.es/37e379787f14b6a9
Mega Diancie is EVd to have 301 HP, meaning I can set up 4 subs with 1 hp remaining letting me click endeavour
It's a HO team, all the mons' roles are self explanatory, Encore Valiant and Taunt over Encore on waterpon because I run into a LOT of status spreaders and/or players who think they can tera and click status. Taunt and Encore are godsends.
I had psychium z on darkrai but found it fishy and inconsistent. Lorb better, focus miss hits mega ttar and tinglu and 1 more mon im forgetting
Gouging fire is the sample dragonium z offensive smogon set, eq can be swapped for recovery moves idc
It's a good team I swear. Enjoy

THE BOP AND DOP BUILDER DROP ™

hello everyone! this is my first ever teamdump that i've made since starting competitive mons and i have to say... it has been a lot. i think i've grown a ton in my teambuilding skills and i want to share some that i think have worked exceptionally well.
furthermore, as of Aug 8 '24 i will have to change devices, and that means my cookies r wiped and i'll start with a clean slate. in return, i think it's time for me to share some of the squads i've made myself during that time

SAMPLE SUBMISSIONS (4):

all of these teams have been tested and used by me and other players and i think they're the highest quality teams i have rn

Swords Dance Cinderace + Choice Scarf Hisuian Samurott Offense
:cinderace: :raging_bolt: :landorus_therian: :samurott_hisui: :scizor_mega: :slowking_galar:
this team revolves around the offensive core of sd cinderace/scarf hsam/cm bolt
:cinderace: defo an underrated setup sweeper as of now, it has a decent speed tier and boasts one of the strongest and most consistent Z moves imo, being able to throw off +2/+0 STAB 200 BP breakneck blitzes, effectively dispaching alo, pex, lando, gouging, chomp, and any other bulky threat. pyro ball is a very strong generic fire STAB option, and hjk puts heatran out of commission alongside being, again, a high BP coverage/STAB move.
:raging_bolt: the water resist and pon check of the team, cm bolt has consistently been proved as one of the scariest wincons in the tier. thunderclap is mandatory as its priority move and a primary reason to bolt's success, alongside bullet punch from mega scizor forms a double priority core that helps deal with faster threats like darkrai(ban bro). it appreciates cinderace pressuring treads and ferro, and it also likes the spikes that hsam sets to more easily pick off speedy foes.
:landorus_therian: the GOAT. it gives us a ground and electric immune which is extremely valuable to this team. fast taunt rocks on offense is easily one of the most annoying and effective landorus moveset, being able to shut down gliscor and corviknight while almost guaranteeing rocks versus a lot of the metagame's defoggers(opposing slow lando, glisc, corv) also is able to uturn off of said corviknight/ferro, introducing sd cinderace and putting on a ton of pressure.
:samurott_hisui: a lot of people think that scarf hsam is a pretty bad set, but i think it has its applications on offense such as this. it acts as effective speed control, immediately pressuring mlop and darkrai with sacred sword, bulky grounds like ting lu with its water stab, and its dark stab in ceaseless edge does great general damage while setting passive spikes, which further pressures their defoggers(which, of course, invites cinderace). knock off can be preferred over sacred sword. flip turn adds onto the continuous momentum generation alongside landorus and gking.
:scizor_mega: respective ice resist and knock off absorber. another great wincon that i think is slept on recently. offsciz 2a with close combat can easily lure corviknight and heatran, one being a defogger and another pressuring gking and chipping down bolt as a wincon AND being annoying to cinderace w/ tera. geniunely a great set in itself and i think it works really effectively here as a blanket defensive piece and offensive wincon.
:slowking_galar: fairy resist, lele check, fsight setter, twaver, momentum generator, just does a ton for this team. fsight allows samurott to break through toxapex and corviknight easier, alongside being a general progess making tool. sludge bomb and chilly reception are standard. twave can help cinderace/hsam against boosting foes like volcarona

Scarf Enamorus + Adamant Mega-Medicham ParaSpam
:enamorus: :ferrothorn: :slowking_galar: :landorus_therian: :medicham_mega: :zapdos:
SHOUTOUT sluGGy, he gave me a ton of input and helped with testing alongside major edits to the team in its beginning stages
this team revolves around spamming thunder wave in order for mega medicham to break
:enamorus: a pretty interesting mon to say the least. i had the interest in this when hidin mentioned how he built with it or something. anyway, its our speed control here alongside main tera hog. moonblast is able to threaten ival, shifu, and mlop while being our consistent STAB option. earth power is a great coverage move that can catch heatran lacking, while also denting slowking, pex, and crown. tera blast stellar is what makes enamorus our tera hog, as its one of the few and niche abusers of tera stellar by taking advantage of contrary and giving itself raises in its offensive stats. this allows enamorus to become a very late game sweeper, but it should be kept in mind that tera blast stellar is relatively weak and requires a lot of chip on its checks like slowking. healing wish is able to fully heal a lot of members on the team that lack recovery, such as ferrothorn and landorus, alongside giving medicham a second chance to wreak havoc in the occasion that it cannot switch in due to hazards, or is crippled due to para or burn. this also significantly improves the stall match up as all chip from potential rocky helmet/stray scalds or waterfalls/hazards are negated.
:ferrothorn: one of the para spreaders of this team. ferro is the water resist, psychic resist, and gives us waterpon cplay, while also being our stealth rocker and is able to annoy foes like landorus with leech seed. thunder wave can be used effectively on foes like volcarona and gouging fire trying to use ferro as setup fodder, while also crippling foes like darkrai, iron crown, and tapu lele. power whip can be replaced with knock off, but it isnt reccomended.
:slowking_galar: the secondary para spreader of the team. fsight makes automatic forced progress with medicham's cc being absurdly strong in conjunction to future sight even on resists like slowbro. sludge bomb and chilly reception are standard. thunder wave is able to cripple a lot of threats in the tier, as at full slowking is exceptionally bulky and can consistently take hits like urshifu's ss once and twave it, allowing mmedi to freely close combat. another fun interaction is against pivoting foes like tapu koko; it's inevitable uturn/volt switch allows slowking to throw off thunder waves against whatever switches in.
:landorus_therian: again, goat of the tier. respective flying and electric immune, you know the drill. however, it also serves as a partial fire resist here since we do lack a consistent one, being able to blanket check fire type physical attackers like gouging fire effectively alongside having tera water as an emergency backup in dire situations. the set that we're looking at here might seem a bit strange, but its worked phenomenally in practice. fast toxic defog landorus is able to cripple a lot of defensive pieces, such as opposing landorus, zapdos, alomomola with toxic, alongside being able to defog away opposing stealth rock and forcing them to take toxic chip or pivot out, generally being super annoying vs some common stealth rockers like landorus and chomp.
:medicham_mega: i've been wanting to use adamant double priority mega medicham for some time now, and i think it has a good amount of application here. fake out and bullet punch is able to severely chip a lot of fast foes and even pick them off with few repeated switch ins, against foes like darkrai, mega lopunny, waterpon, tapu koko, iron valiant, etc. close combat/zhb is the standard STAB of choice, and us being adamant allows us to break through landorus therian much easier, even without ice punch, especially with future sight support from slowking. adamant as a nature here gives us a huge power boost at the cost of a crucial speed tier, but as paraspam a lot of foes in that category(yard offenses, for example, are shut down w/ slowking tera into tw) makes up for that lack of speed, and the cleaning potential of double priority is generally super nice for a team like this where the speed control is pretty niche. adding onto that, the stat gain from an adamant nature allows us to break 600 attack, which alongside fsight support allows us to break even dual resists such as tera psychic toxapex on stall and slowbro.
:zapdos: THE guy on paraspam. zapdos is our secondary physical blanket check alongside passively paralyzing threats with static, and also is able to paralyze grounds like great tusk and landorus, which the other twave users cannot. volt switch acts as our electric stab of choice alongside a pivoting move on foes like opposing slowking-galar and heatran, which medicham has free leeway to cause more destruction. heat wave here is an interesting coverage of choice, but otherwise it makes bulky msciz extremely hard to play against and also threatens ferrothorn without having to risk medicham switching in. hp ice here dents landorus for mega medicham, and also takes care of gliscor, and being able to chip grounds in general. roost is mandatory.

Grassy Terrain HyperOffense
:rillaboom: :hawlucha: :ursaluna: :iron crown: :gouging_fire: :raging_bolt:
this team revolves around rillaboom's grassy terrain supporting/enabling various sweepers
this squad i havent actually used in a while, and is in general a pretty old team, but i think it's well functional regardless
:rillaboom: the enabler and lead of the team. it sets grassy terrain which pretty much benefits every sweeper of the team by giving passive recovery alongside weakening eq for gouging, crown, and bolt, and also activating hawlucha's seed. choice band gives us immediate power here. grassy glide gives us strong priority late game, and wood hammer as our secondary nuke that can blast soft checks like toxapex/lando. high horsepower here equally hits foes like crown and gking as koff would, but also surprising heatran and chunks opposing gouging fire.
:hawlucha: Sneasler 2. the guy is much less bullshit than sneas but is scary regardless. fly+fight coverage is really good into the meta, and swords dance with an adamant nature and tera fly to further boosts its power allows hawlucha to become a ridiculously strong and fast sweepers that can overwhelm teams very quickly. substitute further allows hawlucha to set up, giving it opportunity against toxic landorus and gliscor.
:ursaluna: the best trader in the tier and really likes the recovery rilla gives it. im sure you all already know ursaluna's breaking capabilites, and can very easily steamroll through its limited counterplay, often trading 1:2 against a lot of threats. tera dragon here allows us to shatter ogerpon and urshifu, alongside remove our weakness to fighting against mega lopunny and darkrai and give us a valuable defensive typing.
:iron_crown: demon crown is one of the scariest wincons in the tier, often snowballing extremely quick and having the capability to easily crush through teams that dont prepare for it quick enough. stored power hits extremely hard in conjunction to its two set up moves, and it in its own right can break through slowking galar alongside having coverage in focus blast to hit mega tyranitar, ting lu, and steels like ferrothorn.
:gouging_fire: IRONM0NK3Y808 has echoed his thoughts about dragonium z gouging in the NDOU room several times, and i can confirm that with grassy terrain it becomes a very powerful threat that can easily take games. with weakened earthquakes, landorus does limited damage to gouging fire, effectively losing the 1v1 as gouging fire at +1 ohkos landorus with devastating drake. its one of the most potent wallbreakers in the tier due to this, and its consistently one of the best partners for rillaboom as the respective fire resist, switching into heatran and yard.
:raging_bolt: bolt alongside rillaboom is a great offensive core in itself, with rillaboom activating terrain for bolt, eliminating its earthquake weaknes and giving it passive recovery. in turn, rillaboom can uturn on resists like corviknight and zapdos, which bolt can easily take advantage of. calm mind with booster energy in conjunction with tera is very hard to stop, and becomes extremely strong with its very high 137 base special attack. +3 booster energy can break through its checks like ferrothorn, and if you give it that time to set up it can thunderclap through faster threats and blast through the slower defensive pieces.

Choice Specs Tapu Lele + Mega Venusaur Balance
:samurott_hisui: :tapu lele: :gliscor: :heatran: :venusaur_mega: :dragonite:
SHOUTOUT my buddy Gottycatcheymall helped me make this which is awesome, and he also wrote the description for this team below. he also wrote way too much which is the primary reason why this is a sample submission.
samurott hisui- scarf hsam provides a way to get up spikes, speed control, as well as a way to gain momentum with flip turn hsam is especially good at cleaning up late games and works well with mega venusaur as mons like urshifu rapid and ogerpon that can beat hsam 1 on 1 are walled by mega venusaur the dark typing is especially helpful vs mons like glowking and iron crown.
tapu lele- tapu lele is used as the primary breaker of the team dishing out massive damage with psychic and moonblast, lele synergizes well with bulky mons like physical def venu and special def gliscor as they are easy to switch into as glisc can beat common checks like heatran and iron crown and mega venusaur can beat faster physical attackers like mega lopunny.
Gliscor- gliscor is used over lando due to the special bulk it provides as well as having a more reliable recovery so it can beat iron crown and other strong special attacking mons more easily, being able to dish out Toxic is important on this team as it allows for the toxiced mon to be potentially stalled out by one of the many defensive mons on the team, however glisc is mainly used as a reliable defogger who can toxic sr setters like lando t and mega tyranitar as well as pressuring mons like mega diancie and heatran with eq.
Heatran- Heatran provides a reliable switch in to mons like lele as well as helping vs stall by trapping tera blissey and setting rocks. its a solid mon on this team as magma storms can provide reliable damage to switch ins like ferrothorn that can allow lele and hsam to clean up games later. tera grass provides a rewliable way to beat most teams that are built around mega charizard y alongside emergency defensive coverage to its water weakness.
Mega venusaur- Mega venusaur is used as a physically bulky switch in to mons such as heatran, ogerpon, urshifu, and mega lopunny, this is useful on this team as most other mons are specially deensive like gliscor and heatran. mega venusaur can use its 3 attacking moves to kill mons like heatran with earth power as well as stall out hp from gliscors and heatrans toxic. however, mvenu noticably cannot touch corviknight, which is what the team intends to overload with specs lele and hsam.
Dragonite- dragonite is used as a bulky wincon that can set up dragon dances and use the coverage of ice spinner and eq to sweep through teams while also providing defensive utility as a secondary shifu, tran, and pon check. tera steel is very useful here as it provides a toxic immunity that can allow for games to be won easier. The combination of roost and multiscale allows for dragonite to stall out mons and set up dragon dances more reliably which can help vs offensive threats.

NON SAMPLE SUBMISSIONS (3):
the team explanations from here will be considerably smaller bc they arent sample submissions

Demon Crown + Swords Dance Iron Valiant HyperOffense
:iron_crown: :iron_valiant: :dragonite: :great_tusk: :volcarona: :landorus_therian:
fairly standard 6 here, just a landorus hyperoffense i made
demon crown and sd val make a good core since sd val tends to lure spdef pivots like slowking, while iron crown usually forces pex's tera which ival really likes. z dnite here is a standard set, eq hits steels, fire punch hits ferro corv, z nukes everything you dont like. bu taunt tusk is a tech i borrowed from resident goat Oculars , crazy set just steals games. volcarona is our fairy resist and another sweeper, standard qd 3a set. landorus is our suicide lead, sets rocks, does boom

Choice Specs Kyurem + Mega Lopunny Balance
:kyurem: :slowking_galar: :lopunny_mega: :ting_lu: :corviknight: :volcarona:
choice specs modest kyurem is an idea that i first got from IRONM0NK3Y808, because who doesnt like losing a crucial speed tier for big numbers. this set is 3a ice, which is fdry for waters, ib for generic STAB, and blizzard for damage. ep hits steels like tran while also sniping gking and dealing decent damage to msciz. gking is the quintessential partner to kyurem as it sets snow which boosts kyurem's defense while also being able to switch into the fighting and fairy moves targeted at kyurem. mlop is here for speed control, and also pivots from alo pex lando to gking. ting lu and corviknight form a good defensive core in lu corv gking, which has hazards in rocks from lu, defog from corviknight, and gking bc gking is goated. volcarona here punishes contact from msciz, gives us a fire type for foes like ferrothorn, and gives us a wincon(bulkarona is broken).

Mega Lopunny + Swords Dance Spikes Garchomp Balance
:lopunny_mega: :garchomp: :garganacl: :toxapex: :corviknight: :darkrai:
mlop is imo one of the best speed control options out there, outpacing koko and having fake out and having uturn and having perfect neutral coverage in both STABS. generally lopunny can be checked from foes like lando, corv, pex, which is what sd chomp here aims to take out. swords dance with hazards is able to force switches and set up one layer of spikes, but also has the potential to swords dance on defoggers like corviknight and easily take them out/severely chip them with continental crush, which mlop really likes. garganacl here sets rocks while also being a broken mon in salt cure, being able to rock against foes that mlop pivots on like alo and pex while chipping down other checks like lando. pex here is pex bc its a great physical blanket check. corviknight for a defogger and for a good core in corv/pex. darkrai here gives us a psychic immune for the specs lele mu alongside stopping crown from being super annoying, and also gives us immediate power in choice specs boosted dark pulse. i hope darkrai gets banned tho. u can prolly replace it with hsam or some other breaker

and.. i think thats it. every other build that i had in mind looks like poo in retrorespect so i think thats all the teams i will be showcasing. thank the NDOU room and all my friends for being great companions
RunicPower413 Ineros sluGGy Solaros & Lunaris Wildfiree Spookcooke Lupla IRONM0NK3Y808 Oculars theres a lot more but im forgetting them. cool cya bye

The Moment Walt Becomes Heisenberg
hey, lightniong(wolfgame.mp3 as a moderate amount of people know me as) here, just dumping teams because I feel like I cooked with these, also, it’s been a little more than a year that I’ve been actually taking this competitive Pokémon thing seriously, and I think I’ve gotten better since then because that‘s how improvement works you put effort into stuff you try and try and eventually you’ll get better anyway let’s get into the deep part even though there’s only 2 teams but I’m proud of these 2 teams

Oh yea both of these are sample submissions btw

(DAMN.) Mega Banette + Pivot Ogerpon-W Offense
https://pokepast.es/5a875b515feac9fd

So, I’ve seen a lot of people talk crap about mega banette, including me, and deservingly so, but I thought for the first time in my life, “I think I should actually try it instead of dissing it Without experience, so yea I concocted this while on my internship in Long Island for 2 weeks because I was bored
:Banette-Mega: The main star of this team, this is just really here to just disrupt the opposing team and to deal as much damage and hopefully destiny bond something on the way out to enable other teammates to sweep and stuff, also poltergeist does a lot and will 2HKO most non-resists, and shadow sneak to finish off stuff so it can continue going to town on the enemy, also, NEVER sweep with Mbanette, and you probably want it to die most games anyway.
:Slowking-Galar: I need pivot to bring Mega Banette in to go to town on the enemy, so I feel like the slowest pivot is galarian slowking should do the trick, also chips down stuff with fsight to enable the 2 big sweepers on this team and flamethrower cause you need to deal with Ferrothorn somehow.
:Landorus-Therian: Another pivot to bring Mega Banette and friends in, but medium speed this time, chips stuff down with stealth rock and stops it going up with taunt, allowing the 2 big sweepers to go to town and stuff, also deals with a ton of stuff that mega banette just blanks into, like Mega Tyranitar, so it can continue breaking.
:Ogerpon-Wellspring: The most Off-beat choice on this team, as it has spikes and U-turn, and as the fast, offensive pivot of the team, it’s goal is not to sweep, but to break and stuff, cause even without a boost, Ivy Cudgel and Horn Leech still hit hard. I also put spikes on this because chip is very important which can allow other Pokémon to pick up ko’s thst they woudn’t have had, and with the offensive pressure of the team, unless the have corv, hazards are staying up.
:Kartana: The main win condition of this team, and the speed control of the team, you mostly wanna keep Kartana healthy so it can sweep late game when everything is chipped down so Kartana can just hit stuff with leaf blade and continuously gain attack boosts, and it can snowball pretty quickly if not respected by the opponent.
:Raging Bolt: The Z user of the team, as I believe that most successful offensive teams should try to make room for a Z-user, also big big wallbreaker That can easily rip through the opponent to help Kartana sweep. Also, in matchups where Kartana would have a hard time sweeping, Raging Bolt will be your win condition, so keep it healthy in that case where it has to sweep.

(Pink + White) U-Turn Gliscor + Double Priority Mega Medicham BO
https://pokepast.es/e8c207ea54991bbd
This is really the main reason why I bothered to make this teamdump in the first place, I’m just so proud of this team that I just had to share it, you know about that internship at long Island that I went to and built the first team in, yeah I made this team immediately when I returned, the premise was pretty simple, hazards + big breakers = switching = hazard damage = chip down = getting into Ko range by big breakers = win
:Medicham-Mega: The first big breaker of the team, and the main main speed control of the team, as double priority can snipe people thinking they’ll live the fake out and just sweep and win. Other than that, it’s what you’d expect a mega medicham to do, which is just deal big amounts of damage, forcing the opponent to switch, which will rack up hazard damage, which would chip down the opposing Pokémon, allowing to mega medicham to catch the ko eventually.
:Gliscor: The main spiker of the team, Gliscor is just reliable and will probably get at least 1 layer up every game it’s in, even if the opposing team’s running Mono-Ice, because it’s just that bulky, and it heals so much with Poison Heal, also slow U-turn because mega medicham’s pretty frail and kinda needs to be brought in against a weak attack. Overall, it’s a pretty good anchor against a lot of Pokémon.
:Ferrothorn: Special wall and obligatory steel type of the team, this Pokémon also sets up stealth rocks to help with the Mega Medicham pyramid scheme, and can also wall stuff pretty well, also chips down stuff with leech seed and knock off’s always good to remove hdb to enable the pyramid schemecham.
:Raging Bolt: The 2nd BIG BREAKER of the team, and also a wincon, raging bolt does raging bolt things, does big damage forcing the ground out in most cases, and in most cases, the ground takes big damage thanks to Draco meteor, which wpill allow another Pokémon to take it out I just helped you with your game plan youre welcome.
:Alomomola: But in order to set all of these hazards up, we need to keep the team healthy, and Alomomola helps with that perfectly, as it can keep Ferrothorn healthy to leech seed and stealth rock and knock off and all that jazz, and can also heal Gliscor in a pinch if you can’t find an opportunity to roost. You can also toxic to get that sweet sweet chip so Mega Medicham and raging bolt can capitalize on that profit.
:Tornadus-Therian: I needed a defogger, and I needed a Z-user, and I needed a fast Pokémon, so i took torn t into the squad to do all that and hurricane and knock off the sequel, and to u-turn into the 2 big breakers cause mega Medicha is very frail, also torn t has defog which is very important because the 2 big breakers, especially raging bolt cause of Ogerpon can easily get chipped down by hazards.

And that’s it, special thanks to the NDOU chatroom for being the goats and special thanks to boppydop! for giving me the motivation to make my own team dump and to be honest I just basically copied the format, so thanks boppy for allowing me to steal from you. Anyway that’s all listen to Blonde by Frank Ocean bye
