This is pretty much the standard set except for Fling and...TR71? Let me explain: TR71 makes Fling an impressive 130 BP and still activates Unburden, which quickly becomes a threat to the opposing team. Adamant still allows you to outspeed Jolly/Timid Mew and you always live Mew's Ice Beam. The ideal setup is to use Swords Dance and then Fling at +2 to OHKO Mew. Fling also helps against Slowbro, Reuniclus, and Tapu Lele, as none of them can switch in at +2.

  • +2 252+ Atk TR71 Hawlucha Fling (130 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mew: 490-578 (121.5 - 143.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • +2 252+ Atk TR71 Hawlucha Fling (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 332-392 (84.2 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

With 20 Spa EVS, HP Fire always OHKOs Kartana. Furthermore, Kartana can only OHKO Ferrothorn with Banded Sacred Sword (6% chance) or with All-Out Pummeling, meaning that you wouldn't be forced to predict Kartana's switch-in in most situations.

Frustrated, Slowbro decided to embark on a journey to Cinnabar Island, where they started a rigorous training regime. They eventually stumbled across the TM Flamethrower and returned with a triumphant smirk. Who's in hot water now?

Glowking definitely has its niche as a special wall, and this set still allows it to do, and retaliate against some dark type attacks. The ev spread is for it to be able to survive U-turn/Volt Switch plus +1 Knock (crit/band). You can run both Focus Blast and Flamethrower if you have trust issues, but having slack off is nice because of the loss of assault vest.

Everybody gangsta until the meat shield pulls the uno reverse card on you and proceeds to miss focus blast.
