Why is chesnaught on the VR
It’s a generally decent check to some stuff like yard and sball/fblast ghold thanks to bulletproof, it’s also one of the more reliable pon checks. It has good utility with spikes and knock, recovery in synthesis, and a solid stab body press. Overall has a good mu into some solid mons in the tier and can offer some decent role compression.

How is that thing walling yard

The hazard weakness definitely holds it back, pretty similar to other pokemon that have access to it, rocks just really hinder what you can switch in on long term and means you'll lose in longer games, if it'll work it's going to be on some offensive structure with melm/ting but thats probably more niche than anything

Why is Urshifu Single Strike banned but not Rapid Strike? I'd think a Water - Fighting stab is far better than a Dark- Fighting STAB, especially since fairy is such a prevalent type. Is it just that STAB Sucker Punch is so good?

Urshifu-S has a better STAB typing in singles because Toxapex, Slowbro, and Alomomola can all shut down Urshifu-R which Urshifu-S doesn't have to worry about. Choice Band Wicked Blow is stronger than Hoopa-U's Choice Band Hyperspace Fury last time I checked, which combined with its better speed, U-turn, access to STAB Close Combat to destroy any resists barring Fairy-types, who get hit by Poison Jab anyways, makes Urshifu-S very hard to slow down realistically, without dedicated answers like Clefable and Tapu Fini.

On hyper offense teams it is very capable of overwhelming said Fairy-types with its Swords Dance + Trailblaze set which is even harder to slow down than Choice Band, if it gets going; this paves an easy win for Pokemon like Roaring Moon and Great Tusk, making building balance structures much more obnoxious then they need to be. It's much easier to revenge-kill Urshifu-S compared to, say, Roaring Moon, since its slower, but it has way more immediate power that isn't one-time only (unlike Knock Off), access to Sucker Punch anyways, and can still use Choice Scarf pretty nicely to surprise these faster threats like Mega Lopunny. All of this just makes Urshifu-S a pain in the builder.
