National Dex Pokebilites AAA
What is National Dex Pokebilities AAA?
National Dex PokeAAA is much like the base tier, where a Pokemon can have all of its native abilities active at the same time, plus one additional chosen ability, much like in Almost Any Ability! This time around, we have the full National Dex to play around with!
Ruleset and Banlist:
Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
Evasion Clause: Evasion abilities, items, and moves are banned (e.g. Sand Veil, Bright Powder, Double Team)
Sleep Moves Clause: Bans all moves that induce sleep. This excludes self-inflicted sleep.
Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot intentionally prevent an opponent from being able to end the game without forfeiting.
Ability Clause = 2: There can only be a maximum of 2 of each ability on a team. This does not apply to base abilities granted by Pokebilities.
Regenerator > 2: No more than two Pokemon per team may have the ability Regenerator.
Z-Move Clause: Bans Pokemon from holding Z-Crystals

Gameplay:
Q. How do the abilities get added to the Pokemon?
A. In the teambuilder, select your "chosen ability" in the ability slot. Your Pokemon will have its regular "base" abilities added in battle.
Q. Where can I play National Dex PokeAAA?
A. National Dex PokeAAA is playable via challenge code and room tournament, using the codes in the next section. Feel free to request National Dex PokeAAA tournaments in the OM Mashups subroom!
Tiering:
Q. Why is Regenerator Clause in effect?
A. Without it, Regenerator cores consisting of multiple base users and an AAA user dominate the metagame and are able to (effectively) infinitely stall other teams that cannot break through their cores.
Q. Why are Pokemon with banned abilities, like Garchomp and Magnezone, not useable at all? Can we disable that specific ability instead?
A. Per Ivy's post in the Pokebilities thread, modifying the mechanics of an Other Metagame to provide leeway for otherwise broken Pokemon goes against the spirit of Other Metagames. Other Metagame Mashups do not mechanically deviate from their Other Metagame counterparts except for occasions when mechanics must be modified to be functional. HiZo has outlined the arguments here.

Pokemon Formes:
Q. How does Ditto work?
A. Imposter will copy all of the opponent's abilities. Ditto's chosen ability does work, but is overwritten by Imposter upon activation. The only relevant ability is Magic Guard, although Intimidate and Weather/Terrain-setting abilities do activate and might have some niche use case. Additionally - if the copied Pokemon has an ability that announces itself (Pressure, Sword of Ruin, etc.), Ditto will not be able to scout that Pokemon's chosen ability.
Q. How does Ash-Greninja work?
A. Ash-Greninja is a separate Pokemon from regular Greninja. Greninja cannot use Protean and Battle Bond simultaneously, it must pick between having Protean and Torrent as base abilities, or Battle Bond as a base ability. Battle Bond works as normal and Ash-Greninja can use a chosen ability as well.
Q. How does Eiscue work?
A. Eiscue's Ice Face is not affected by the mechanics of Pokebilities and will behave as normal.
Q. How does Meloetta work?
A. Meloetta-Pirouette retains its ability after the forme change.
Q. How does Mimikyu work?
A. Mimikyu's Disguise is not affected by the mechanics of Pokebilities and will behave as normal. Magic Guard will block the damage from breaking Disguise.
Q. How does Morpeko work?

A. Morpeko's Hunger Switch is not affected by the mechanics of Pokebilities and will behave as normal.
Q. How does Palafin work?

A. Base form Palafin will have its chosen ability active. If Palafin is holding an Ability Shield or has Zero-To-Hero in the ability slot, Zero-to-Hero will activate upon the second switch-in as normal, but Palafin-Hero will not have its chosen ability active. Without Ability Shield, Zero-to-Hero will not activate. It is reccomended to use Zero-To-Hero as the chosen ability, as Palafin gains little from having its base form use an extra ability.
Q. How does Terapagos work?

A. Terapagos's chosen ability will be active on switch-in (similar to Ditto). Terapagos will immediately transform into Terapagos-Terastal, which will only have Tera Shell active.
Q. How does Zamazenta-Crowned work?

A. Zamazenta-Crowned's chosen abilities will not activate.

Ability Interactions:
Q. How does Trace work?

A. Trace copies a random ability.
Q. How do Lingering Aroma, Mummy, and Wandering Spirit Work?

A. These abilities only affect the opponent's chosen ability. If a Pokemon with these abilities makes contact with an opposing user Lingering Aroma/Mummy/Wandering Spirit user, it will also have its chosen ability replaced with Lingering Aroma/Mummy/Wandering Spirit.
The following interactions are what happens when a Pokemon uses these abilities on the same set:
Protosynthesis and Quark Drive do not stack, and the affected stat will only be boosted by 30%
Poison Touch, Stench, and Toxic Chain do not interact with Sheer Force
Corrosion allows Poison Point, Poison Touch, and Toxic Chain to poison Steel and Poison types. Toxic Spikes are unaffected, even if they were set by the user

Guts and Toxic Boost stack if the user is Poisoned or Badly Poisoned
Plus and Minus do not interact with each other in Single Battles

When Pokemon with a Weather/Terrain setting base ability select another competiting Weather/Terrain ability, the chosen ability will activate first before being overwritten by the base ability.

When Zebstrika is hit by an Electric move, Motor Drive activates instead of Lightningrod

Bisharp's Inner Focus stops Intimidate's attack drop, and Defiant will not activate

Magic Guard blocks the damage from Disguise, Dry Skin, and Solar Power

Inner Focus prevents Flinching, and Steadfast will not activate unless the opponent has Mold Breaker

Gale Wings does not boost the priority of Aerilate-boosted Normal moves
Certain moves interact with abilities unconventionally:
Gastro Acid and Worry Seed will only affect the chosen ability

Steely Spirit boosts the power of Doom Desire, as it is technically an ally's Steel-type move
Skill Swap will only swap the chosen abilities. It will still fail if a Pokemon has Protosynthesis, Quark Drive, or other untransferable/unsupressable abilities as either base or chosen abilities.
Niche vanilla mechanics that aren't often seen in competitive play:
:corviknih

If a Libero/Protean Pokemon uses an -ate ability, clicking an -ate boosted Normal move will change its type to Normal. Weather Ball becomes a Fire/Water/Ice/Rock move under Weather Conditions, and will change a Libero/Protean user into that type.
Magic Guard does not prevent the self-damage from Clangorous Soul or Fillet Away.

A Mold Breaker user attempting to status an Immunity, Limber, Oblivious or Water Veil user will succesfully status them, and Immunity/Limber/Oblivious/Water Veil will immediately cure the status condition.
