Basically you get free turns agaist quite a bunch of stuff like Skarmory, Hippowdon, certain scizor sets, non fire blast malt, tang, amoongus, slowking, etc... by either starting to setup with Meteor Beam, either weakening your own checks such as electrics or melmetal with sub leech. The spread allows you to outspeed 0 speed Moltres, and make your substitute able to always live Slowking's Scald. We go for a modest nature here because it is the most optimal spread able to do the above while having some SpA investment.
