Wait you want to defeat non refresh malt without waiting too long for toxic to kick in while punishing scizor, steela and amoongus hard? well paralysing them is enough, as slowing them down while a 25% chance of being unable to move makes us have an easier time, the latter being much since with hippo it's likely you are playing a long game anyways, denying loads of progress that's made.

With a landslide vote on Curse, congrats to GiyuForPresident for winning this week's round! Your Submission will be added to the Hall of Fame shortly.

Cycle 16: Rotom-Wash

Even disregarding the long history of Melmetal's presence for a while now, Rotom-Wash's excellent typing that allows it to pivot into many threats in the tier and huge utility movepool continues to keep it at the absolute forefront of the defensive metagame. Can you discover its next best set?

Oh no Swampert uses washtom to get rocks and toxic off, while pump doesn't do a lot back. Slowking teleports out since volt switch doesn't do a lot + i want to punish opposing washtoms regardless of it's sets. well fear not as toxic cripples all of them relatively hard. Protect amplifies the effect while also increasing leftovers recovery. Also helps to scout choice locked mons intentions, notably scarf zarude. Extra speed makes sure toxic gets to land on opposing washtom before volt switch.

With a majority vote on Nasty Plot, congrats to GiyuForPresident for winning this week's round! Your Submission will be added to the Hall of Fame shortly.

CB Aegi is quite an effective lure/breaker. It can OHKO Zarude and non Chople Krook, and easily 2HKO Scizor. It also 2HKOs Celesteela. The other reason to use this is it provides decent priority, CB boosts Shadow Sneak to a level where its damage is slightly less pitiful. CB Aegi struggles with most physical walls (Skarm, Buzzwole, Amoonguss), but the domination of special sets means these rarely attempt to switch in.
You know this mon is good when there are 6 (six) banned sets

Just try to do as much damage when you have the chance, king's shield is sometimes exploitable so we have sub here instead, catches something like a predicting bisharp using SD and unlike with king's shield, you invalidate amoongus. Oh and also it means that rude can't just click u-turn
