It was a great game, but the refs were fucking high. I wish the Nuggets luck against the Lakers. :)

About LeBron, I really think that he only plays for stats. Sure, he has assists, but I think that's only because every team out there double/triple-teams him. The Cavs are a great team, and LeBron is an excellent player, but I think that if LeBron exerts less of that excellence, the Cavs as a team will become excellent.

NBA admits Refs make a mistake, still suck ass.

Yeah it was a foul, but I also blame Wright for not "selling" the call. I mean, it was just a small bump and for a player with Melo's strength, he is hardly going to budge. Just grab him or his arm, that's what usually happens anyways =/

rockets are cursed

honestly they need to stipulate in yao's contract that he NOT play for china or something

it has to be something other than bad luck

he's logging too many minutes

yeah it was a pretty shitty call but in the big picture all it did was speed up the inevitable. there's not a chance in hell that dallas was taking 4 of 5 from the nuggets.

that said, bennett salvatore is one of the most incompetent shitfucks to walk the earth...no wonder he referees nba basketball

All shit refs. The same guys that reffed Brent Barry's attempt 3 vs the Lakers were on this squad, so its easy to smell blood.

EDIT: Darkie wont appreciate this, but - Game 1 WCF 2003 Spurs vs Mavs -

Mavs shoot 50 free throws, 20 in the 4th to seal the win. Thats just far too much. My good friend Joey C was reffing that game, and you better believe he reffed other important games for the Spurs, and just as with this game, the Brent Barry no call was deemed a mistake.

Im totally venting here, but F the refs.

Also, in game 2 of the same series, he ejects Don Nelson AND Del Harris, your two best coaches.

That may be the case generally speaking, but it certainly wasn't the case in game 3. For the second half LeBron was dictating the course of almost every single offensive possession, and doing it damn well. After he got into his zone and started completely dominating throughout the third, he FINALLY got serious double teams, and he wasn't selfish with the ball whatsoever. He didn't rack up that many assists that way either, he'd get double-teamed out by half court, and two or three passes later the Cavs would get the open shot. It seems to me exactly what a great player should do; dominate the game against an opponent who can't guard you, force your opponent to commit at least two men to stop you, and then get the ball to the open player.

I really thought LeBron's play in that game was one of the most fantastic performances I've seen in the past few years precisely because he wasn't forcing things in the manner that, say, Kobe does when he's trying to rack up a big scoring night. Hell, even the atlanta fans were chanting MVP.

Lol it didn't sound like they were chanting MVP Nate, they were more booing intensely.

Yeah LeBron dictated shit really well, it frustrates me the way that the refs call fouls if you even breathe near a superstar but credit to him for really igniting the Cavaliers offense today. I do reckon his stats were sorta artificially inflated though, teammates would leave unopposed defensive rebounds that they'd normally gobble up so that LeBron could get double figures in boards.

Also Josh Smith needs to fucking learn to shoot one of these days, for fucks sake Zydrunas Ilgalskus, a 7'3'' centre outshot him from midrange (although tbh I was suprised at how well Ilgalskus shot). He would be a really good player if he could just add that midrange jumper (and non retarded free throw shooting) into his game. Flip did well, and so did Johnson and Bibby, although they were forced into bad shots at times due to Cleveland's awesome half court D. In my opinion, if Atlanta even want a chance of taking a game off them, they need to keep running the floor, they have such a fast and athletic team and if it turns into a half court slugfest, they will lose by 20 every time.

Josh Smith needs to accept he is a PF with the ability to defend SFs, not a small forward who plays from the perimeter.

And he needs a real coach that will develop his game; he really hasn't progressed in 3 seasons or so.

yeah this is terrible news.. and with Mutombo out as well we have no more big men to guard Gasol or Odom. The Rockets are pretty much screwed but we'll see how bad after todays game.

He only did before the summer when he got surgery
EDIT: Are you guys seeing the rockets rape the lakers without yao?

yes the rockets are 'screwed'. even though the lakers are down 18 in the 2nd, the rockets will lose series + game. [/sarcasm]

Its funny to see the Lakers go down this way..

Adleman was a very offensive coach, so I suppose hes using his teams now found speed to run and shoot more 3s. When they go down hes a genius, when they miss they look like my Spurs all this year.

EDIT: This reminds me of when CWebb went down and Peja looked like an MVP during 04'.

I'm a Rockets fan myself but yeah losing one of the best players on your team in a heated playoff match definitely got me thinking that they lost their chance. I like your confidence but I'm sure everyone thought the same when they heard the news of Yao being out. Rockets stepped up though, I'm really excited.

You can blame the refs if you want, but that wasn't much of a foul. Everybody knows the foul calling for lack of a better work is discretionary, especially when the game is on the line. The rule of thumb is you gotta foul the guy so he can't get the shot off and the player clearly didn't do his job.

True dat.

If Wright wanted the foul he should FOULED him, bumping a big dude like Melo is gonna do jack shit. He should have just grabbed him as soon as he touched the ball or something...
