NEE - Not Entirely Evolved

Lairon used Rock Polish.
Lairon used Head Smash.
Rhydon used Earthquake.
Wow.....I couldn't have said it better myself. lol

RP Head Smash Lairon is actually pretty clever.....But Monferno and Rhydon especiall spoil your fun.

Dragonair/Leftovers
Adamant 252HP/252ATK
Ability - Shed Skin
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
That set is even deadlier knowing Lairon, Metang, and Magneton are the only steels here.+ Shed Skin might wake you up.

Great, you completely understand, because that is the entire point. It's especially nice because Magneton can deal some great damage to alot of them.
EDIT: On a seperate note, it looks like Dusclops can stall out most of the metagame...

Would anybody be willing to play a few NFE battles later today over Shoddy Battle? There is only so much theorymon can do. We should get around 8 people and do a little tournament to test out what is broken and what isn't.

I think we should just call it NEE, like the title suggests. I'd be more than happy to help test this out. I'll be on shoddy on and off for the rest of the day, so...My name is Mukkuru on Shoddy (It wouldn't let me use Rein for some reason, so now I have an account for shoddy and smogon). I'll obviously be on smogon's server.

As interest in this topic seems to be fading, I have another interesting point to bring up - At what level should battles be held?

Obviously, level 100 would be the easiest as we are all familiar with the effect of EVs (4 EVs always = 1 point) and IVs, but this could be made a little more interesting by making the level lower. Little Cup, for example, takes place at level 5. If NFE took place at level 25, it would create a more different and interesting metagame. What are your opinions?

Well, considering you can't get Pokemon until certain levels, it would be odd to have a Lv. 25 Rhydon or Shelgon. Actually, this might be a good way to ban Rhydon :D. But seriously, Lv. 50 would probably be better since you don't have to worry about illegal Pokemon by that point and it's basically right between 5 and 100.

Level 50 seems like a good number to me. Weaker pokemon in general means that you won't have absurd walling from Dusclops or ridiculous power from Rhydon.

If you think about it,
Little Cup-5
NFE-50
Standard-100

:D

No. The compairisons to Little Cup are not based entirely on truth, these two metagames will behave very differently.

Level 100. :/

Basically the only thing that's really different about Lv. 50 and Lv. 100 is that you need 8 EV's for each stat so we might start seeing something like Rhydon running 12 HP/248 Atk/248 Spe, since there might be no reason to put 4 more EVs in Atk and Spe because they won't raise the stat. Note: This is just an example; I don't know if Rhydon would run that spread. Also, I know Choice Scarf Abomosnow can outrun Azelf in Lv. 50 but not Lv. 100, so there's a chance you could see something like that.

I'll be on Shoddy this weekend with the name nee-test. Clauses: Evasion, Extended Game, Freeze, OHKO, Sleep, Species, Lv 100. Offer me a battle if you see me!

EDIT: Grovyle looks like a really potent revenge killer. I'll be using 252 Atk/144 Spd/112 SA Lonely. With 144 Speed you guarantee outspeeding 252+ Rhydon after a Rock Polish. Grovyle has 45 base defense so the nature doesn't even matter. The moveset is HP Ice/Leaf Storm/Pursuit/Crunch. The moveset does seem redundant, but with Pursuit doesn't KO if Haunter/Kadabra stays in, so yeah.

Some calcs:

Leaf Storm vs 252/4+ Solid Rock Rhydon under SS: 122.5% - 145.7%
Leaf Storm vs 252/4+ Pupitar under SS: 140.7% - 167.4%
Pursuit switching out / Crunch vs 6/0 Haunter: 98.3% - 116.4%
Pursuit switching out / Crunch vs 6/0 Kadabra: 135.1% - 159.5%
Pursuit staying in vs 6/0 Kadabra: 67.6% - 80.2%
HP Ice vs 252/0 Gabite: 117.5% - 138.8% (I know no one would use THAT bulky Gabite)

You can only 2HKO Dragonair and Shelgon with HP Ice though.

EDIT v2: Band Rhydon 2HKOs max/max+ Dusclops with Stone Edge %100 of the time =O (56.3% - 66.9%)

I would have challanged, but I can't go on the main server. It slows my computor to a crawl. :/

Still, I managed to come up with a compitent Trick Room team that ALMOST managed to beat an NFE team (He had Hippopotas) in the end. Porygon2/Dusklops/Rhydon/Shelgon/Marshtomp/Magnaton is pretty cool.

I have a maths exam on Monday and Geography on Wednesday, so not me. I had time today though, and I laddered in OU with my NFE team :P My win/lose ratio is 16/11, and my CRE is something around 600-700, heh. Not that bad.

LO Electabuzz is pretty good actually, I reckon it'll be a pretty good anti-lead and a decent Pokemon in general.

Taunt/Sub/Roost/Poison Fang Golbat is such a bitch. Well, until a steel switches in, but there is only Metang in NEE, no?

Chansey is... Chansey.

I've personally found switching Rhydon in really hard in OU. IDK how it's gonna fare in NEE though.

Specs Combusken is actually better than Monferno. It has Vaccuum Wave to target Rhydon's weaker defenses. It also has higher SA.

CB Piloswine is also really good. Those dragons have to think twice before Outraging. Solid defenses and reliable priority in Ice Shard.

Will 1st stage/baby Pokemon be allowed?

Theres Metang, Magneton and Lairon actually. I'm going to be making an NEE stalll team. I'
l'll be expecting challenges :D

We wouldn't only be using second stage pokes, right? Scyther, sneasel, gligar and munchlax are more than potent stage ones.

The point is to only use second stages. Delibird and Farfetch'd are terrible Pokemon but they aren't allowed in LC.

Specs Combusken isn't better than Monferno. It has seven more base SpA, but it also has significantly less speed and a much worse movepool, missing out on things like Grass Knot.

I'll be around on Smogon and CAP this week.

HP Grass hits most NEEs stronger than Grass Knot anyways. Speed doesn't matter much when you'll mostly be using Vaccuum Wave.

Except Rhydon, and I THINK Graveller and Pupitar. Which is a lot.

I'll be on next weekend, but ONLY ON CAP (Since my computor can't handle the main server. :/). Be very careful of my team.

So far, there have been plenty of people testing, it seems...

I think we should begin posting the results and see where this is standing and if Haunter/Kadabra/Rhydon really need to be banned, etc.

I can't really post any results myself yet, though, because I have only done about 2 battles (still having trouble finding people).

Just offering my two cents here, but I think that some single-stagers in NU (Shedinja, Farfetch'd, Sableye, Minun, Illumise, etc.) should be allowed. It would greatly increase the number of viable Pokemon, at the very least.

Ya, I mentioned that earlier, too. But we would still have to restrain that list because a lot of those Pokemon can handle themselves in double battles, ubers, etc.....Juts not OU because Mence + T-Tar and not UU b/c Blaziken + Rhyperior, and a lot are just crippled by the over common SS and SR in singles....a lot of those Pokes will become UU when Shoddy 2 comes out w/ doubles.

Luvdisc should have entry, though. Seeing 95 Speed is the only thing above 60 and it's attacking move pool can't be utilized because 45/45 attacking stats, and no support despite good speed, because Agility and Sweet Kiss is about it (Maybe, Aqua Ring, but no where near Bulky enough). I am curious to see if it has any chance of holding up here at least.

FINALLY after 3 tiers (OU, UU, NU) Pikachu can finally shine.
lol....Me and several other people mentioned banning Pikchu b/c that good speed + Light Ball boost is actually pretty good when SR and priority aren't around...Pikachu has been used in OU/UU.

I'm pretty sure that Pikachu will be banned. Assuming you run a +Speed nature, Pikachu can have either 418 Atk or 398 SpA with Light Ball. That's respectable for even OU Pokemon... yeah I know priority ruins him, but he's like Deoxys-A. He's going to hurt something.
