Seriously?
Still no comment on my counter kiss set? :(
You can at least try it.

I am not making a new set till some comments are made on my counter kiss.

The choiced u-turn glitch is still not fixed on shoddy. :(

I don't see the point of Charm on something that is supposed to take a physical hit. Also, why Counter when you can just kill that Lucario with Air Slash?

This is Chris is me's signiture: "C&C dudes, "creative set" people: Don't go looking to innovate, especially if you haven't played the game inside and out. Let the sets come to you naturally; don't force innovation for the sake of it or you get horrible gimmicks."

- Just some useful advice. You don't have to make a new set.

Another set I have been raising in Pokemon Diamond:
Golem @ Yache Berry/Focus Sash
Suicide Lead
Stealth Rock
Sandstorm
Explosion
Sucker Punch/<filler>
Relaxed/Impish/Sassy/Careful
252hp/?

need help here - a lot of it, but...
Turn 1: Set up sand/sr to survive special attacks better or do extra damage, or attempt sucker punch on Frosslass. Blow up when you're done.

1234gjy, change your avatar soon. Please.

Wow, people complain a lot about the avatar.
Fine, I'll change it.

Charm is suppose to reduce the damage done to you. But counter still does a lot even if the damage was halved. Air slash may be unreliable against Luke, it can't be flinched due to inner focus. Even if you do t-wave it, it can SD on that turn, CC you the next while surviving the Air Slash.

Counter doesn't limit to Luke and Mence and Gyra. It also work on bulky tank/wall that hit from phsical side e.g. Pert ect.
I guess Counter is a bit gimmicky, but it's quite the effective way to deal with those phsical attackers.

Edit:There, I changed it, better?

1234gjy, if you use charm, they'll switch out. it's not like they're just going to stay in thinking "oh well it's too bad luke got charmed." they're going to switch to something scary that'll force your ass out. also, i would run air slash over hp ground and run dugtrio on your team. magnezone/heatran are taken care of and you get stab (very useful when you're not running spatk evs) on a move with an epic flinch rate. =)

This is not a moveset, nor is it creative. However, with it, Infernape becomes the ultimate SD Lucario check/revenge killer. It is the use of Vacuum Wave or Mach Punch, which isn't as common as it could be.

Hasty 252 LO Vacuum Wave on 0/0 Lucario: 72% - 84%

A KO after LO recoil from 2 or 3 Extremespeeds/Crunches/Ice Punches. Not very reliable, no. But...

Hasty 252 LO Vacuum Wave on -1 SpD 0/0 Lucario: 107% - 126%

After using a single CC, Lucario is done in one hit. Mach Punch, of course, does comparable damage on physical sets.

The best part is Lucario will always stay in to Extremespeed you, before being outsped and KO'd.

Other calcs, to show how Vacuum Wave could be useful.

Hasty 252 LO Vacuum Wave:

vs -1 SpD 0/0 Infernape: 50% - 59%.
vs 4/0 Scarftran: 49% - 57%. (If you Nasty Plot on the switch, guaranteed OHKO with SR)
vs 4/0 Tyranitar: 59% - 69%. (If it gets a couple DDs)
vs 40/0 Weavile: Easy KO.
vs 4/0 Porygon-Z: 61% - 72%.
vs 4/0 Dugtrio: 46% - 54%. (Probable OHKO after a Nasty Plot and SR)

If you want a reliable way to finish off a healthy, SD'd Lucario, as well as pick off a number of weakened, threatening scarfers, Vacuum Wave is a great option.

This is just a set I made, looks good on paper.

Mantine @ Leftovers
Calm, 252 HP, 252 SpD, 4 Sp.atk
Surf
Toxic
Protect
Aqua Ring

Not the best of sets, but this makes use of Leftovers and Aqua Ring. Toxic is to wear the opponent down, It's best to use Protect and Surf to gain and destroy as much HP as possible.

I'm pretty sure someone else had that moveset before on another water pokemon (probably Vaporeon or something). Dive can go in place of Surf for more toxistalling and leftovers + aqua ring recovery.

@1234gjy: Like others said, Charm clearly does not work well with Counter (it'll either cause a switch, or Counter's damage dealt has just been halved), and neither does Thunder wave. Thunder wave itself is devastating for a fast sweeper. There isn't much need for counter. An attacking move (like Air Slash) would be better. Also, Thunder Wave also has that chance of full paralysis, which also renders Counter useless. I think Thunder Wave and Charm are viable moves for a defensive Togekiss to have, but they certainly don't go well with Counter.

Aqua Ring is a very poor move, as Hitmonlee will probably come in on you as you set it up, forcing you to switch out and lose your Aqua Ring boost. It's pretty terrible 100% of the time.

First attempt at anything particularly custom, so here goes:

493.png

"Gyaradozer"
Cresselia
@ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 28 HP / 188 Def / 40 Spe / 242 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power Electric
- Moonlight
- Psychic

I created this set after finding that I had little to counter DD Gyarados and probably worse still Kingdra. Kingdra would probably still romp this so I might have to work on that, but in the meantime this should work on Gyarados, either bulky or offensive. Calm Mind + HP Electric should (theoretically) out race a Dragon Dancer. Psychic is for the STAB against Kingdra, but I think King would overpower with Outrage. In any case it can take a nice chunk if Kingdra has to set up. I'll point out that this is was built in a certain context ie. I didn't want to change my team lineup, but needed something to step in on the likes of Gyarados and come out on the other side.

Please, be gentle.

Specific reasons for the EV spread please.

I hate to bump a set, but it even got quoted without a real reply.
Please..?

Uh, the golem set can get rid of SS for Stone Edge, u probably won't be fast enough to set up SS and block the special atk.
If it's for uu, i would use earth quake over SS to hit stuff like the nosepass and steelix. Or you can go gimmick and put in a fire blast.
252hp for sure, other evs you can decide on if you want to KO certain things by trying different stats on a damage calculator. That's what everyone does.

BTW, is my avatar better now? No complains?

I usually switch in this Dusknoir against Heatran which it usuallly kills if they don't run and Infernape leads when they try to Close Combat my Heatran.

Dusknoir@Leftovers
Adamant 252 HP 252 Sp.D 4 Def
Will o Wisp
Pain Split
Earthquake
Sucker Punch

It does what the normal wall does but the attacking moves seem to be not standard. Sucker Punch beats weaker ghosts and psychics along with giving it a chance against the Rotom forms. Against Pokemon weak to earthquake (Heatran and Magnezone in particular) it inflicts a lot of damage and can sucker punch to finish them off. (Opponents don't usually expect that combination of attacks. It has maximum special defense because of Will o Wisp.

I've explained why it's useless. THEY WON'T ATTACK YOU IF YOU CHARM THEM!

And if they do, Counter will probably not KO, and your surprise is up. So please, stop asking for critiques because it will all be the same.

3HKO against a DD Gyarados, which is a 2HKO vs HP Electric. If I recall correctly, the spread gives stats of 388 HP / 355 Def / 216 Spe / 248 SpA.

I'm thinking I might switch the speed stats to defense becuase they're probably not needed on a tanking-role Pokemon like this. This would give me a slightly better chance against Kingdra if I play my recoveries right.

I like your new avatar a lot.

Thanks for the help. I originally wanted SS to support my Shuckle. The gimmick wouldn't work too well (come on! it has 55 special atack!!) And I don't think anybody uses Nosepass anymore, they use Probopass. I'll work on it.

@uno cerami: This seems like an interesting set. You may want some more defense EVs though.

A new set i made and is in testing process

Mi-LO-tic@Life Orb
This thing is made to use LO, it even have LO in it's name!
116hp/44def/252sp.atk/92spe
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Hp electric
-Ice Beam
-Recover

The evs given can have it survive against Adamant CB T-tar's Stone Edge without marvel scale! It also outspeed adamant max speed tars.
The rest is pour into sp.atk.
Hydro Pump or Surf is up to u.
Ice beam and Hp electric for bolt beam combo.
Recover to heal off LO damage.

Hydro Pump can score a up to 32% on blissey.

BTW, what happened to competitive battling, it's so easy now.

it looks like an inferior LO starmie to me. Starmie can be EVed to have the same physical bulk, better special attack, and better speed than this set using a Modest 60 hp/252 def/198 spA spread, it also has the advantage of being able to use tbolt instead of hp electric. Really, the only advantage Milotic has is higher special defense.

EDIT: For some reason I thought you said Milotic outran jolly ttar, so I used timid when making starmie's spread. So yeah, because of that, the starmie spread I made has lower special attack. But if you were to move those hp evs into special attack then they would be equal, but starmie would be slightly less bulky than Milotic.
