New Hypno Moveset

I've been using a Belly Drum Hypno, and, although it's a novelty set at best, it does seem to have it's usefulness. You see, Hypno's Attack is equal to his Special Attack, so the only real problem is no STAB moves.

Here's how it goes.

Belly Drum
Brick Break
Shadow Ball
Return/Body Slam

@ Leftovers

I used this set, and OHKO'd a Blissey, Regice, and Snorlax in one battle.

If this set gets published, let it be known mysteryman inspired me originally to think of this.

EDIT: For EVs, I maxed out his Attack and Defense, since his Special Defense is already high, and I gave him an Adamant Nature, if you wanted more details.

Definitely worth the read if the set gets published. I really like this idea personally. The topic also supports additional suggestions to the set.

Yes, because Blissey loves to switch into Pokemon that are known to be common Belly Drum sets.

Sure, Snorlax can do it, but that's sometimes expected. Clefable can do Belly Drum, too, but Hypno's faster.

Granted, there are pokemon who can do this better than Hypno, but the pure surprise factor is there, and Hypno still manages to do it decently. I think it should be a viable option.

And to CasMat, I'm not sure what they were thinking. :lol:

It's novelty so it'll end up in the "Other Options" section if any of us do add it. =/ But it's definitely not set worthy imo.

neutral to everything, you regain the health you lose by drumming and can switch out. Hypno is still UU/BL

Definitely want wish on it. Wish the first turn or on a switch, belly drum, recover, and sweep. May want to do it with a Salac berry.

I dont know if thats a competitive set which most of the sets on smogon are in the dex. But I think it should definately be listed in other options since it is viable and would do a lot of damage just based on the suprise factor alone.

Because Hypno is too slow to get a Sub in before getting hit.

The point is to not let the opponent break/hit the sub.

IE switching in on a weak CB brick break or so. if the sub fades, it doesn't matter if you get hit before. You will get KOed after the drum anyways.

The thing is, Hypno doesn't have a lot of things to switch in to. Zard always has CB EQ/HP bug.

Although if Hypno gets in, the opponent might switch in fear of Twave. Then he gets set up.
Can Hypno get to 396 with salac?

Yes he does get baton pass but the moves together are illegal.
