I have never had a name change, I posted in this thread a while ago asking for this change to be made but it was denied at the time because I didn't have enough posts

Requesting name change to be “The Hootie”, haven’t used my current account name since I was a kid and all my other socials in the VGC community are tied my name Hootie. If I join smogon tournaments it’ll be under that name.

Hi friends,

I am inquiring about what, if anything, I would be able to do to acquire the Smogon profile username Nate. Please allow me to summarize my predicament:

I currently own the Pokemon Showdown username Nate. I am globally voiced on this username. My current Smogon username matches my former Pokemon Showdown username. Ideally I would be able to match my Smogon profile to my Pokemon Showdown username, primarily for the sake of tournament tags.

However, there was a great Nate that came before me. Smogon user Nate has 800+ posts and a pair of alumni badges. They have notably been inactive since 2016, a little short of what looks to be the most restrictive 10+ year threshold.

I've read the guidelines regarding eligibilities, and I think my request may fall short on a few elements. I was aware of what I was getting into when I requested my Showdown username change, I completely understand if this is unattainable. If so... any suggestions for something close enough to help out my tour host friends?

I am requesting to have my name changed to JP.

I wish for this because it is the username I am best known by, since that is my Discord username and similar to my Pokemon Showdown main alt.
It is also the name I am most comfortable being tied to, because it has a personal meaning for me.
And it is also less corny than my current username that I created when I was little.

This is my Discord name, the names of the accounts I use on PS, and is somewhere on most of my other social media too. Currently my smogon username is my Minecraft username and it's a Minecraft reference, and I no longer wish to use it on a Pokémon forums. It's also annoying to tell people that my forums name is different from literally all my other social media. Also if I ever host a tournament then people get to call it PLPL.
