Project [NEW] SV OU Office Hours [BACK OPEN FOR QUESTIONS]

You have stated before you don't want suspect tests at certain times like during tournaments. Do you mind at all if I have that schedule where suspect tests are possible?
Suspect tests happen during tournaments all the time. It’s just retests I don’t like to have overlap due to the ladder being different than the actual metagame.

Will there becs qualified discussion thread for this suspect test? As someone who isn't good enough at the game yet to get reqs I've found the qualified discussion threads educational and informative.

Is there any reason why tournaments don’t count towards suspect reqs like before?
This is a great question and a lot of people supported Tournament Reqs returning back in a PR thread on the suspect process earlier this generation actually.

The long story short is that we received a lot of complaints about tournament reqs not being fair.

The long story longer is: As for team tournaments…people were upset that it wasn’t “equal” footing. While it’s easy to explain this away as a “skill issue” for SCL or SPL as most folks can eventually prove themselves enough to be picked, a lot of people were upset a tournament like WCoP, where certain people were stuck in qualifiers or others were blocked due to bloated regions, could qualify people. I don’t personally think this should be a barrier honestly.

Another big argument was the timeline. If a suspect happened in May or June, which is before WCOP is over, then someone who played SPL in January and/or February, but not touched the metagame since, could qualify while non-SPL players would need to engage with the current metagame. They felt that it didn’t sufficiently qualify people to make current metagame decisions. I personally think this is fair, but ultimately feel a middleground where the some sort of time restriction/common sense can be applied tbh.
