Project Next Best Thing: USUM UU (Week 45: Jellicent - Submissions)

Krookodile @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Snatch
- Earthquake
- Power Trip
- Pursuit
Gonna go make some shitty Snatch Krookodile memes. So if you don’t know what Snatch does it lets you steal your opponent’s boosting move on the turn that they use it. However, Z-Snatch puts your speed at +2 while stealing any possible boosts. So basically the idea of this set is that you must convince your opponent that you are a Scarf Krook. You Pursuit trap their Lati, Chandy, Gar, etc. so then they bring in their Terrak or Coba thinking that you are locked into Pursuit. You then click Z-Snatch and boom you steal their Swords Dance as they think they can set up while gaining a Speed boost. Now Power Trip is basically a physical Stored Power that’s a Dark type move and with all these stat boosts, your Power Trip should be at 100 BP that’s also boosted by Swords Dance. But yeah this is a very situational and memey Krookodile set that should sweep when done right but tbf I’d be surprised if anyone somehow does well with this set.

Krookodile @ Groundium Z/Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Taunt
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
This set puts real damage into fatter teambuilds. Its pretty cut and paste, set up Bulk ups, and start launching off attacks. Use taunt to bully passive mons like Pyukumuku and Hippowdon that rely on support moves to mess with Krook. The choice of nature is up to you. Adamant gives your +1 Tectonic Rage a good chance to KO physically defensive Altaria-Mega with minimal chip, while Jolly lets you outrun Moltres. So it fully depends on which one of those mons gives you more trouble on a stall. Which item you use is also dependent. Groundium Z lets you break past certain defensive checks like the aforementioned Altaria Mega and others like Alomomola, but leftovers ensures your longevity against physical attackers you set up on. Intimidate is the recommended ability here since Intimidate + Bulk up actually lets you set up on a number of physical attackers comfortably. Choice locked Scizors, some other Krooks, Muk-Alola, Doublade if you're careful enough. Aggron and Hippowdon are also important to note as setup targets here since you not only shrug off their physical hits with the intimidate + Bulk up combo, but you can taunt their status moves as well.

Krookodile @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Knock Off / Stone Edge / Beat Up
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

This set combines parts of the arguably two best sash leads, that being Azelf’s taunt and Mamoswine’s decent bulk which allows it to do things later. Taunt is crucial, given that you outspeed the vast majority of all rockers, and can deny rocks, whilst setting your own. Earthquake is here for obvious reasons, that being its the main stab move allowing you to get crucial chip on the likes of Cobalion etc etc. Knock Off lead is pretty good, given you can remove Choice Scarf from Scarfers that people commonly lead without much drawback, and set rocks later. It also lets you beat down Defog Latias without fear if your Focus Sash is up. However, Stone Edge lets you pressure Moltres and Crobat, who otherwise Defog freely on you. Lastly, Beat Up is a niche option to beat down Azelf, ensuring that no Explosion shenanigans occur.

Krookodile @ Rockium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

This set makes a great lure for Togekiss, Moltres, and other flying types. Stone edge is almost never seen on rocks Krookodile and Scarf can easily be bluffed in the early game allowing you to get a surprise early kill on an unsuspecting togekiss thinking you are locked into Earthquake or Knock Off. I have found this set works particularly well with Mega Sceptile which appreciates having pokemon like Togekiss, Rotom-Heat, Moltres, and other flying and fire types removed. Plus Rockium-Z Stone Edge is quite a bit stronger than Scarf Stone Edge (not to mention 100% accurate) ensuring an OHKO on bulky Togekiss and Rotom-Heat after Rocks something that Scarf Stone Edge cannot do.
252 Atk Krookodile Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Togekiss: 294-348 (78.6 - 93%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Krookodile Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 248 HP / 212+ Def Rotom-Heat: 260-306 (85.8 - 100.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Give me your fat mons. All of them. Huge fan of trappers in UU right now. This bad boy traps Alomomola/M-Aggron/Blissey and 1 v 1's them. The 236 HP + 72 Spdef is to not be 2HK0'd by Mega Manectrics Hidden Power after rocks. The speed allows you to outpace Nidoking and with no investment you do 100 min so didn't think attack is worth. I prefer toxic to 1 of the stabs and eq is nice for the mons mentioned above.

4 attacks set I tried during the Venu suspect test that's relatively unappreciated on Krook because it has some interesting coverage options that it can really take advantage of. Lures the fuck outta togekiss (and mega alt too), and if it hard switches into Knock, babiri berry won't save it. Opponents thinking they can switch Scizor freely into Krook? That's where Fire Fang comes in and gives them a big "fuck you" :).

Intimidate Offensive AV Krookodile

Krookodile @ Assault Vest
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Superpower/Fire Fang

Intimidate is the preferred ability, as it lowers foes' Attack stats, which allows Krookodile to switch in more easily.
Knock Off + Earthquake are the dual STABs and Stone Edge + Sperpower are there to have the maximum power possible.

Assault Vest, alongside Intimidate, complements the defensive capabilities of Krookodile very well on its weakest side of the spectrum. This way you can scout the opposite moveset with a little more ease than usual.

Calcs:
252 SpA Celebi Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Krookodile: 186-218 (56.1 - 65.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Krookodile: 264-312 (79.7 - 94.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Houndoom-Mega Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Krookodile: 169-201 (51 - 60.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Krookodile: 277-327 (83.6 - 98.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latias Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Krookodile: 220-259 (66.4 - 78.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Please vote for up to two sets, and may the best Krook steal the show!

I'll vote for aim's set.

Cake, I know you asked for 2 sets, but I feel the Power Trip set, while underrated, no one is using it towards it's full potential as it must include Bulk Up in order to take advantage of the power boost to aid Power Trip in it's sweeping ability. :]
