With the release of Diamond and Pearl and the start of Generation IV, it was now believed the remakes were going to be for the Nintendo DS. Unlike the Generation III era, however, several key pieces of evidence existed, such as a news report on the red Gyarados, Jasmine's appearance in Sunyshore City, the mention of Professor Elm's report about eggs, Cynthia's SecretPotion (which, in its in-bag description, mentions Cianwood City), the Gold and Silver Cards in Pokémon Battle Revolution, and the Park Balls, which are gold and silver in color, with a light blue band across their middle. The definite clue is, however, hidden in-game data that shows the games have the ability to trade with Johto-based games.

Recently, a fake CoroCoro scan has been spread; it erroneously refers to Professor Elm (Japanese: ウツギ博士 Dr. Utsugi) as Professor Rowan (Japanese: ナナカマド博士 Dr. Nanakamado).

Some fans also reason that because the Generation IV games happen contemporaneously with Generation II (according to several references like the "Search for the Red Gyarados" that airs at the start of the game), Gold and Silver will be remade, as the same thing happened with the Generation I games, which Generation III was revealed to be contemporaneous with.

As a side-note, when presented with Oak's Letter, Prof. Oak sates that the White Rock in Sinnoh has a counterpart in Kanto. In previous generations, no such rock has been seen. As Kanto was in Gold and Silver, Kanto's White Rock could be a Generation IV addition that would appear in a remake.

Since Nintendo took the incentive to copyright DuskGold and DawnSilver, it shows they might be considering a remake. DuskGold and DawnSilver seem appropriate, as they have similar meanings to the Ecruteak Towers. The Tin Tower is where Pokémon come to pass on (as dusk is the end of the day) and the Brass Tower is where Pokémon were born (as dawn is the beginning of the day).

I'm more hoping this means that they are actually going to fix and improve the multiplayer aspect of the D/P games. They had massive room for improvement...

FR/LG did the same thing with the return of the other Pokemon, massive changes to movepools and the in game improvements.
 
I think the part in bold is the big clue. It doesn't mean that they are 100% going to make it, but it means that they have the official copyright to start on the project whenever the time is right.
 
I hope they don't ruin the remakes with making Ho-oh and Lugia event only pokémon O__o;; I want a good ho-oh without having to replay colosseum and beat 100 battles in a row...
 
the reason everyone thinks G/S had the best story mode was because you can sweep the entire game with feraligatr alone. i have done that multiple times. just get a moveset of
-crunch (lvl up)
-ice punch (tm)
-hydro pump/surf (i'll just talk about hydro pump the whole time) hydro pump ohko's just about everything on the elite 4 that doesnt resist it. just pack a bunch of ethers if you dont want troubles with the pp
-slash/filler/i actually ran dynamic punch since it always hit in my favor ^^

and you can ohko 3/4 of the elite 4, and 2hko the rest. lance is about the easiest one in there XD

umbreon- you can dynamic punch if you want to risk it, or you could hydro pump which would likely ohko

gyarados- actually the biggest threat in the e4 for feraligatr. just use crunch/ice punch for a 2hko.

now the point to all of this? the whole entire game was easier than any other pokemon game in the franchise. the only remote challenge in this game is beating reds whole team with a lvl 75 feraligatr, but i did use some para and sleep support for that DAMN LAX..

my hopes are that it wont be this easy.
 
I don't think any games have great stories when they're capable of doing so much better.

As for a GSC remake, I wouldn't be suprised.

Not really it was re-introduced in FR/LG iirc to evolve Umby and Espy.

But yeah I agree hopefully they do a remake and this time make sure the RNG isn't fucked up regarding the runners(entei, suicune and raikou) unlike those that were found on the ADV remakes.

Fr/Lg didn't even have an ingame clock ^^;

The ADV glitches are not to likely to be repeated since there's quite a lot of difference between ADV gen and DP gen programming. I assume they'll use much of DP's engine.
 
If there is a remake, i hope they give us a move tutor for the elemental punches so were not forced to breed in emerald. Also some things like rampardos, toxicroak, and lucario might like the addition of punches.
 
Oh boy, I can't wait for this. I just hope there is a Rapid Spin/Curse Tutor. Curselix would be so awesome with 225 BP Gyro Ball+already massive defense, and he could alternately go Spin. I'm guessing the Punches will make a return, making Azumarill's life easier.

This is probably a terminology mixup, but names are trademarked, and not copyrighted. There is a big difference. Copyright cannot be applied to such a short phrase... that is what the purpose of Trademarks are for. (See US Copyright Office FAQ for details)

Of course, that is US copyright law that I'm talking about, but I'd assume it is similar in Japan...

I'm leaning towards "fake rumor" at the moment, unless someone can get me the original article... of course the terms are mixed up often, so maybe the original article screwed up on that part. I'd assume Nintendo of America would register their Trademark to protect their rights... so we should be able to search it.

Unfortunately, I'm not a lawyer and the US Trademark search page is a bit more complex than I thought it would be. Someone who knows more about this stuff should see if this claim even holds true.

EDIT: Okay, I tried searching the US Trademark dictionary and...

Nothing found. I don't see any proof that Nintendo of America has even attempted to register the name yet. Of course, the US Trademark and Patent office may be processing the trademark application... but regardless, I don't see any evidence for "DuskGold" getting registered.

EDIT2: Of course, Nintendo of Japan might have trademarked the names, I only know a tiny bit of Copyright / Trademark law, enough so that I know that I should go to a lawyer to cover my own ass in the future. So don't take every word from me as golden. But as far as I can tell, using the wrong name in the article (using copyright instead of trademark) and further that this trademark doesn't exist as far as I know it..
 
I so hope that this is really going to happen! I too hope that there will be a tutor that teaches elemential punches, because I'm just sick of trying to endure the Battle Frontier (my lack of AR hurts in Emerald...) just to get Ice Punch or ThunderPunch on something.

The names are pretty fitting, too. I won't hold my breath for this until I get some real proof (real as in a Corocoro Magazine scan that's not fake in any way at all whatsoever), though.

But in GSC, the screen colour changes, as does it in DP. In FR/LG, it didn't change colours as far as I can remember.
 
I REMEMBER SOMETHING!
In GSC, the IVs of shinies were fixed. Does this mean that they will be fixed again? Will shinies you already have have their IVs altered? Or will it stay as it is? Discuss :P
