Actually, it would help. If everyone knew how to properly use a gun and when to use it, then there would be a lot less crime. Who really wants to fuck with a bunch of people with guns?

Who wants to live in fear of everyone around them?

The crazy people would not be crazy if people just took the time to think of what is making them crazy. In most cases it is trauma from their peers or parents. That utopia part is what is the problem. We do not live in a perfect world, so not everyone is nice. So, I guess this kind of thing will just keep happening until people stop being assholes to eachother.

You're over simplifying a very complex problem.

This whole Texas man's story just aggravates me. It's vigilante justice plain and simple. The only reason bullshit like that goes unpunished was because it was Texas. If it was defense of his neighbors children, then I would welcome him a hero. But what was he saving, his neighbors TV and lawnmower? There is no justification for shooting someone for stuff.

@Max: I'm right with you. I'll be honest and say that in the past I would jump and argue with the rest of them, but this one hit home for me. I don't have anything to argue with. All I know is that if I had had the opportunity to meet the bastard up front before he took his cowards life, knowing what he had done, I wouldn't want a gun to deal with him.

it wasn't his property. he did not give them warning at all. technically is a cop-out term used when people are hard pressed to defend their argument with logic and fact.

he walked outside, said something and then you hear two shots go off. he gave them no warning or option to stop what they were doing. what he did may not have been illegal but it was incredibly unethical and senseless. every person should have the right to a fair trial even when they are unquestionably guilty and since when is burglary a crime punishable by death. even most third world countries aren't that extreme.

Have you actually heard the recording? He said, "Stop or I'll shoot!" They proceded to run and he shot them, and consequently they died. He was defending his neighbor's property. It was in defense of a persons' right to private property. In Texas it is legal to shoot someone in defense of your life or property or another person's life or property.

i never said it wasn't legal in texas, i said it was wrong. in fact i have said that in most of my posts.

in the recording when he is talking to the 911 operator he tells him that he shouldn't bother sending police, just an ambulance, because he is going to shoot them. he had already decided that he was going to shoot both of those men before he even left his house. even if they had stopped he still would have shot them.

i understand the law there and i am not trying to argue that what he did violated it. i am saying that he has some seriously fucked up morals.

i also think that your location explains a lot about how you argue.
