Cracking the Whip - In Me

As of recent, my favorite track from them. I am so eagerly waiting for their new album (release date this spring).

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Damn Regret

My friend has been terrorizing my playlists with this pop-punk stuff. The worst part is, I'm actually starting to like some of it. :P

As They Breed They Swarm by The Ghost Of A Thousand

Great hardcore punk band. I just got to know about their existence and I've already fallen in love. Such bash-your-head-through-walls music should be more common in terms of actually being good music. Most hardcore punk is absolute garbage in my opinion but these kind of diamonds should occur in my Winamp more often.

8.5/10

hell yes, thats my favourite song by them too, though there are alot of contenders in daydream anonymous!

i just discovered this french artist called emilie simon, and have been listening to her stuff for a few days now, I really like Il Pleut and Ice Girl, and strongly recommdn people check her out!
she has a really lovely french voice ^_^ and there is some really good guitar, as well as some excellent synthy sounds but theres also alot of a quiet, glockenspiely mood vibes.

Fate's Warning - A Pleasant Shade of Grey

Only an experience if you listen to the entire album. I am a progressive-metal junky lately, and this is probably my favourite album. Although I'm sure you've all heard it before. 10/10 in my books.

Oh yeah, that's a goody. FWX has some good tracks too (Left Here, Handful of Doubt). Those are about the only two albums i like by them though.

God is an Astronaut - Fire Flies And Empty Skies

Fuck the naysayers about post-rock, who claim the genre is too long, too boring, too drawn out, and too torturous to listen to. It is, at times, but not this album. God Is An Astronaut are everything I love about post rock. They are melodically inclined, they work climaxes very well, they are instrumentally adept, and they are excellent songwriters. All Is Violent, All Is Bright is probably my favourite post-rock album, and that is why.

Thursday - As He Climbed the Dark Mountain

I really like their new album although I'm kind of disappointed they didn't stick with the post-rock sound they had on their split with Envy. Either way they're awesome.

And Altmer, God is an Astronaut's fucking amazing. I really can't choose between The End of the Beginning and All is Violent, All is Bright though.

For a three piece band they certainly are massive and I certainly love that particular song myself. Best band to come out of Ireland imo.

Anyway..

Mr. Bungle - Desert Search for Techno Allah

This very track is, in my opinion, exactly what GIAA is about. They don't go with the standard post-rock style of being slow and boring but they bring out some power in the genre. Their style is unique and that's that I love about them.

Shit, didn't know the album came out already. I gotta get my hands on this one. Didn't bother with split album but since it's been credited as great too, I might want to get that one too.

Escape Pod For Intangibles by Hopesfall

One of the best hardcore bands out there because they mix their hardcore with space rock. I mean, how awesome is that? The space rock breakdowns between crashing drums and loud vocals make me want to melt. This track is just plain space rock though, which is also cool because when a band can do two genres well, it makes them a lot more approachable. The Satellite Years has grown to be one of my favorite albums I've listened to in the past few months.

I have only heard the s/t and All Is Violent as of now but I will definitely invest in the other two sometime.

Cynic - Evolutionary Sleeper

2008 marked the return of this legendary technical metal band and fuck is Traced in Air the album of the year. Some sickeningly amazing musicianship, some great fucking songs, and a unique style... damn. could listen to this all day.

also seen them open for Opeth and that was wicked.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Believe

This album is going to be awesome, roll on February 3.

np: Latterman - Mumbled Words And Ridiculous Faces

Very energetic punk rock song, but I was sad to find out that this band broke up in 2007. :(

Personally, I like "The Space For This". This album is great. My favorite new metal band.
