Porcupine Tree - Feel So Low

Blew me away first listen and still doing that. Porcupine Tree never cease to amaze me with whatever they've put out. I dig each of their last five albums (now that I also have Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun.) This is my newest obsession by them, but I dig almost every PT song. I'm so glad I found these guys in April. They've been a part of my daily listening routine ever since then.

10/10 without doubt

Findlay Brown - Losing The Will To Survive

Relaxing song, in my opinion and my first time listening to this. Nothing outstanding but for chilling out this acoustic music does wonders.

7.5/10

louis armstrong-blueberry hill one of my favorite songs by him next to its a wonderful world. just everything about it is amazing 9/10

Gröûp X - Schfifty-Five

The drums/bass duet is really awesome, and the vocals are pretty great. This is like those joke bands that many people don't know, read about them here. Also the lyrics to this song are pretty retarded.

8.5/10

Leonard Cohen - Famous Blue Raincoat

Okay, I've been on a big Cohen kick lately, but eh. "Famous Blue Raincoat" seems out of place musically (just a totally different sound, not the least because it's basically the only piano piece on the thing) compared to the rest of the songs on Songs of Love and Hate, but that doesn't change the fact that it is one of the saddest and prettiest songs he's ever done. I know Tori Amos or someone did a version, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original.

Rating: 8.5/10, incredible imagery, haunting piano background, but doesn't have the raw intensity of many of the other songs on the album, even if this is one of his more popular ones

Modest Mouse - Teeth Like God's Shoeshine

Lonesome Crowded West is one of the most original alternative rock albums I've heard in forever, and Teeth Like God's Shoeshine is not only a strong opener, but an incredible and, surprisingly, epic song. Clocking in at almost 7 minutes, it starts fast and then goes into several different changes of pace. When I heard "Here's the man, with the teeth like God's shoeshine, he sparkles, shimmers, shines" I have an eargasm. Everything about this song is great. Sorry DM...

10/10

!!! - Bend Over Beethoven

My favorite track from Myth Takes, this song is really awesome, the chorus is riddled with instrumental stuff that I honestly can't tell apart, and the vocals are just awesome, there's no down-side to this song, it's just that awesome. Like you'd expect an 8 minute spectacle. I recommend this if you're willing to discover new bands.

10/10

Act Appalled - Circa Survive

Fantastic song by them, probably one of my favorite. Some people complain about Anthony Green's voice to be to whiney, but I love it.

9/10

Daughters - The Ghost With The Most

Pretty crazy shit. My favorite Daughter's song by far. I think what gets me is the hard hitting drums, and the almost whiny guitars near the end.

8/10

Village Of Dead Roads - Between Grace And Delusion - Dwelling in Doubt

One of my favorite Post-Metal songs. It has a real feeling of emptiness and distance.

Brian Eno - Sombre Reptiles

I must confess, Brian Eno is probably in the top 5 list of people who impress the fuck out of me musically, but for some reason I rarely pop in one of the several CDs I own. Just popped in Another Green World for the first time in probably at least a year, and I'm reminded by how much I love this guy. Even simple tracks like this one are so haunting and perfect, in a very subdued way.

***/10... I really hate rating songs, especially songs like this. It's a good song from a good album (Another Green World), so listen to it, 'kay?

Graf Orlock - Hauser

Really fun band to listen to, the audio samples from movies they use extensively give them a different mood compared to other hardcore/grind bands. Add to that excellent riffs and drums, there's nothing exactly bad about this band. The last few seconds are especially loud and crazy. edit: forgot to mention that they are on Level Plane which is an excellent label, they really do no wrong.

8/10

Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches

Awesome track, really funny. I get it stuck in my head all the time. If you dig electronic stuff at all, listen to this! This is the best song on the album, in my opinion.

9/10

Switchblade Symphony - Soldiers

Switchblade Symphony are a Darkwave band that mixes their music with trip hop elements. I can't say much else really. What caught my attention in this songs were the chanting moments one of the vocalists.

Stars - Personal

This is my first listen through this album. It's pretty underwhelming so far.

Captain Jack - "(My Angel Is a) Centerfold"
(Note: DDR SuperNova Remix edition)

I love this song. It's one of the few upbeat songs I have, and is kind of funny. I'm not good on rating by numbers, but if I have to rate it I'd say 4/5 (8/10).

Beta Wing Gamma - Mr. T goes on a Holiday - Canadians in Spacesuits

A crazy local band that sounds like the sick lovechild of Machinae Supremacy and Weird Al. They always play in fighter pilot suits (even wearing helmets) and use aliases on stage. A strange but amazing song with clever combinations of synth and piano.

Pantera - No Good (Attack The Radical)

Bit standard Pantera fare, but it's from their good era. Prefer Rise and Walk to this, though.

7.5/10

Sea Wolf - You're A Wolf

Not something I'd pick up judging by the first listening time. A pretty basic song and I'm generally not a huge fan of indie pop.

5/10

Hella - Cafeteria Banana

Cool song, makes me laugh every time. Sounds a lot like monkeys in a cafeteria room throwing banana's at each other. Well thats what I envision anyway XD

7/10

The Bled - Porcelain Hearts and Hammers for Teeth - Pass The Flask (Re-release)

A beautiful raging song from The Bled. Every time I hear it I feel the rage in James Muñoz voice.

9.5/10

Kiss Kiss - Satellites

I still can't really judge this band because I still haven't been able to get my hands on the entire album, but the bits and pieces that I have heard i really like. As for this song, it's different from what most bands are doing lately and not just for the sake of being different.
