Utada Hikaru - Exodus '04

I like the Indian music playing in the background, pretty good song on a pretty awesome album. The songs about leaving home and supporting yourself, doing what you want to do... An exodus (departure) from your roots to experience the world. 10/10

I actually bothered to bring this up when reviews of the songs started being dumb like "This song rocks!" but nobody cared so I just assumed the np thread revived the old posting format.

np: dredg - Sanzen

A four minute song, Sanzen's one of El Cielo's best works, the vocals are amazingly well done in a melodramatic way, the guitar is very enjoyable and the percussion is very fitting to this song, an overall easy to listen song. You should definitely give this song a go.

The lyrics are some of the best I've heard, they really contribute well to the leitmotif of this album and this particular song.

I've never really listened to much Slipknot, but I just love Corey's singing in it and can't stop listening to it >_<

The third verse really is somthing special. i think at the bridge they lose it a bit, but overall i really enjoy this album.

Fightstar - Amethyst

I'm new to Fightstar but so far Alternate Endings and Grand Unification are being really awesome. They were categorized as "Screamo" at some point so I was a little skeptical, but I'm glad I decided to give them a go.

Amethyst in particular is a great song, it starts out softly with the guitar and bass standing out, and eventually drums, the vocals are pretty good, the harmony produced by these instruments is really great. The chorus brings out more aggressive vocals along with faster paced instruments, they highlight this song.
