I think that since Magneton gets an analyis, and Kakuna too, I think that one thing that I would like to see more often is Grotle. That thing could work in UU.

uh ... isnt torterra the evo of grotle? for the love of god i hope you were kidding since you can use torterra in uu

I must say, endulge on the fact Blastoise is in UU. It makes a tremendous wall. It takes unboosted attacks pretty well, it has a dynamic move, hence Rapid Spin from the vast amount of Stall Teams in UU. A variety I must say, or an assortment of moves to mix around with this turtle. Yawn, Rapid Spin, Toxic, what can I say? it makes a great wall.

Must I say that Marmgar, (Nice try Magmortar, no glory for you), is one of the greatest Mix Sweepers in UU? Try it out explore, research, what ever it may be experimental use or what ever, try our Magmar it is a staple to a team whenever you need a mix sweeper.

Blastoise is actually quite good. I have no idea why people put him down so bad. Like Hitmontop, he can spin on them using Foresight, though he has a moveslot syndrome. He can also defeat ghosts with Mirror Coat. Roar and Haze prevents set up. And he has access to priority moves in Fake Out and Aqua Jet, for what it's worth.

I liked Electabuzz in that role you put Magmar in Namz. Don't ask why though, but yeah, I kinda like Electabuzz.
Speaking of prevos, anybody looked into Seadra lately? Such a shame he didnt keep Swift Swim like his evo...

Thank you kindly! You've been the most courteous smogon member too me providing me with a distant memory of another great mix sweeper in UU. Both Electabuzz and Magmar play a similar role, one has quicker agile legs, hence Electabuzz granting him top notch speed to be a fantastic mix sweeper. I myself don't need the agile legs, I have a slight resemblance to Magmar, hot, fortified and not too fast. Let's make it short and say Electabuzz has most speed than attack, Magmar has more attack invested in speed, might you need forget though, both are excellent sweepers in their field.

Unfortunately, Mirror Coat Blastoise sounds good in theory but lets look at the 3 most common Rapid Spin Blockers... Spiritomb, MissMaggy, and Rotom. Spiritomb at the moment is a 50/50 shot of him being physical or special. If it he is physical than you may come out on top. Hardly unlikely though since his move will probably be... WoW, Pain Split, Pursuit, Filler. Meaning your likely to sacrifice you Blastoise just for 1 spin. If it is the common Calm Minder then Mirror Coat would be worthless because Tomb is Dark/ Ghost... immune to Psychic attacks. MissMaggy on the otherhand commonly uses Substitute + Calm Mind. Which will beat any thing Blastoise can use against her aside from a lucky Toxic Hitting or if Blastoise uses Waterfall. Rotom's nowadays are generally the Bulky Version and a well timed Mirror Coat can generally handle them. I think I may have jumped the gun on this but.. I think this would be a viable moveset for Blastoise..

Blastoise@ Lefties
Waterfall
Forseight
Rapid Spin
Haze

I'll start play testing that soon..

I swear by this moveset for Blastoise. It has always pulled its weight on every team I have ever used, OU or UU.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
252 HP/148 Def/108 SDef
Calm (+SA, -Atk)
~ Surf
~ Rapid Spin
~ Toxic
~ Mirror Coat

It does have problems against Missy (SubCM only), but Spiritomb doesn't like Toxic unless it's the Restalk version. In any event, since Blastoise can take all kind of hits well, switching it in and predicting the Spin Block is vital. None of the Ghosts in UU like Toxic, and the bulky Rotoms canot OHKO with Thunderbolt (much less the Ghosts that lack STAB).

Do always use Surf. Waterfall Blastoise gets horribly walled by anything if it gets Burned. Rotom in particular always focuses on physical defense.

Well, that's true, except Haunter doesn't mind Toxic. :)

I agree that Blastoise is really underrated, I personally use:

Blastoise@lefties
Bold
252 HP/252Def/6 Spe
-Surf
-Counter
-Roar
-Rapid Spin

Counter is really great to take out physical attackers, especially some SDers not named Gallade/ Sceptile, and take them out. Also survives unboosted thunder punches and OHKOs. Roar over toxic, as I already have some toxic support on my team, and Blastoise is a very sturdy roarer, roaring out ghosts that block his spin and racking up SR damage

I use a Blastoise on my UU team too. He's so sturdy and his Rapid Spin + Roar combo is such a utility that he can also fit in on my OU team. If you're going to use him as a Rapid Spin + Roar utility, however, then make sure that is his primary purpose. Surf is a staple on any set because of STAB and being more powerful than Waterfall. The last slot is really down to preference, but Foresight, Counter and Mirror Coat are too situational for a utility like Blastoise.

The problem with Blastoise, is that he cant properly fulfill the role of "Bulky Water" on a team, which is sort of the only place he fits.

Blastoise gets wrecked if it switches into common threats like Blaziken, Typhlosion, Houndoom and especially Magmortar. Milotic and Slowbro are the safest switch ins for this, with a combination of them+another Special Wall. Blastoise cant even wall the Fire Attacks. It also lacks a recovery move.

Blastoise is a great spinner, but you have to make sure you have other ways to deal with those pokemon.

I just added Jynx to a Hail team I built. It's faster than Glaceon, and is in a generally good speed tier for UU, and can Calm Mind up to do some good damage, helping make up for the power difference between it and Glaceon. In the Hail, 100% Blizzard after a Calm Mind causes some damage. It mops up at the end quite well. I haven't used it much yet, but it shows promise.

The trick with hail teams though, is to use only the "broken" ice pokemon, and the rest useful utilities/resists/sweepers. Abomasnow/Froslass/Walrein+3 is the standard, adding Jinx could make you extra weak to Rock/Fighting/Fire attacks which are very important resists to have for hail teams(which i hate if you forgot, so im going to stop talking about them).

In other news, if you would like to read my very interesting invention(i dont think its good enough to send into the analysis, though i have some of those ready as well:D). I posted it in the Creative Moveset thread, its really fun, and it works. Try it out or post a comment or two!

Depending on what you use Froslass for Jynx can go over Froslass. Jynx can sweep better, Froslass fulfills more utility, it depends on what you need more.

Generally true, but Snow Cloak makes the easy spikes way too easy to pass up. I'd obviously respect someone more who uses Hail for a well-built team and for Blizzard Powerups rather than exploiting broken pokemon, so Jinx is definately an option.

Snow Cloak, while a plus and awesome to abuse with Sub/T-wave/Confuse Ray, isn't something to bank on. Lead Froslass is great for getting up too layers, or possibly taking something out with Destiny Bond, but I don't like suicide leads. Personal preference. Besides that, it's a good Spiker because it's fast, not because of Snow Cloak.

Is there anyone using Sceptile?Man,this thing is a great(among the best for me)revenge killer which gets great speed and power(fact is,a Specs Leaf Storm is powerful even without Overgrow activating, and the speed is great).

Before,it was BL,doomed by the OU nice typings and all,but now he gets a chance in UU,and it's doing great for me
