Votes are being counted.

Oh yeah, Staraptor is definitely going to get banned. Say hello to Fighting types!

I think it's hilarious that Wobbuffet got more ban votes than Staraptor, but at least it's gone. Less happy about Chansey, but at least it got a majority vote this time. Hopefully with two of its main counters gone people make up their mind on it this next round.

Will edit in/post more observations later.

Yeah results are in obviously: Staraptor, Espeon, and Wobbuffet are banned. Chansey is automatically a suspect at the end of the next round. Victini and Mew are unbanned rookies. I'm not going to start a new round topic until I hear something about when the server is going back up, so until then talk about the new changes here.

I'll miss Staraptor, he's been on all of my UU teams since the tier started. He was obviously broken though.

Espeon and Wob being banned is good news too.

Now come on with that server! Can't someone else make a temporary refuge for Smogonites to test in an enviroment without Staraptor flying everywhere?

I'm glad Victini wasn't banned. Sense sun left uu it seemed kinda obvious that there was no point in letting victini go.

Espeon go the boot but that was a no brainer. It'll likely be OU instead of BL. I do wonder how smash passing will be affected by this. It wont be the same as before espeon had its egg moves simply because you could actually use Espeon then. Smash passing will lose a main abuser in UU.

Durant is completely walled by Steels.

Like what, Cobalion? Steels arent that common in UU.

Thats pretty great! Staraptor was definately too strong, but I can't believe Chansey isnt gone :( (F*CK chansey)

Espeon gone will feel much much better, smeargle isnt a problem to me anyway.

What's dropping from OU?

This metagame is going to get better and better, i'm so happy Staraptor is banned. I need to find a replacement now. Oh, and no more smash pass, simply awesome.

I would expect Chansey to shoot up in usage now. Staraptor's insane stranglehold of the format is probably the biggest factor to why Chansey started disappearing (I noticed a lot less chanseys this round, I don't know if that is consistent throughout the tier). I also expect with Wobbuffet gone, another way to deal with it (aka tickle trapping) means there is no reason you shouldn't be running chansey, and I see no reason why chansey won't be back to its annoying self of pretty much walling the entire special side, short of Psyshock Azelf (maybe) and about half the physical side.

The problem I see with snorlax is that the standard curse set is really hard to set up with Mismagius, rotom, and scald burns running around, while the rest/ST version lacks the coverage of 2/3 moves + curse. Any fighting type can pretty much frighten him out as well.

However, snorlax still makes an awesome late game cleaner if you take out any potential threats to him.

Holy cripes, you guys were that serious about Espeon? I wasn't even expecting a majority, let alone a 96% supermajority. Mother of Mary.

Victini and Mew went about as well as expected, but I still think they both have broken potential. One round at a time, I suppose. At the very least, they aren't Staraptor, which puts the fear of God into you with one set.

The only major thing I think will change next round is a dramatic decrease in Rhyperior usage. There was very little the metagame could to to adjust to Staraptor outside of using him, Rhyperior, or both, so nothing's really going to come out of hiding that we didn't already know about. Azelf, maybe?

Does the Wobbuffet ban mean we won't see his ass in RU either (usage stats show he could even end up in NU)? I really hope so. Honestly Wobb is a fuck tard and his presence as a cheap fix for anything was only harmful to a competitive strategy game.

As for Staraptor, I'm positive Fearow will fill the role. He has the same base speed and Drill Run can do a mean 28% to Rhyperior if he has a Life Orb.

In all seriousness, there won't be a replacement for Staraptor because there aren't any other Scarfers that can outspeed anything without a scarf and 2HKO neutral hit walls with either of twin STAB moves. That's pretty much the role Staraptor filled, so moving on will be more than a matter of replacing Staraptor with a slightly less powerful counterpart. It's hard to tell how the metagame will shift, but it may be that all the "kill staraptor and sweep with your own" teams start to suck once the metagame adjusts to the lack of everything being outsped and OHKOed or 2HKOed by the same mon with the same move.

I may have continue to lad to prove that Espeon is just a little plus for BP. Smash passing is cheat even with dragon tail. They didn't lose a " main abuser " there is different kind of smash passing team.

Don't understand why people didn't vote about its ban :(

Mew, Mew, Mew

I love him and i will definetly abuse him this round, chansey will really be incresing in usage this round with Raptor and Wobbuffet no longer around

I'm happy to see Raptor, Espeon and Wobbs all gone.

I'm horrifyed that Chansey was allowed to stay, however. Especially as the majorities for 'Raptor and 'Fett were so large, and those are two of the few things in the teir that can get past Chansey.

Staraptor could break Chansey with raw power, while 'Fett could trap it, and Tickle it, so that it was forced to switch out against any physical set-up attacker, giving a free setup. Which, against Chansey, is about the best you can do without Knock Off.

Meh, I guess walling about 80% of the teir to kingdom come isn't enough to be seen as outright broken.

Predictions for next Round:

Smashpassing falls in popularity, as Espeon is no longer around to go 'LOLNOPE' to WW, Roar, Taunt and Haze. It'll still be around, but actually semi-manageable. I wouldn't be shocked if every team had a Pazer/Taunter now.

We'll start seeing more things carrying Knock Off, because now Raptor is gone, Chansey is probobly the biggest threat in UU. Especially as it's an Auto-suspect. [See the Thunderus Syndrome in OU, where all of a sudden, Thunderus, and his checks, have all risen in use]

Mew may end up suspect again. 'Raptor outsped it and dealt massive damage with Brave Bird, and 'Raptor was everywhere. However, I might be completely wrong, as stuff like Honchkrow might keep Mew in check. Either way, certainly gonna be messing about with the million and one Mew sets.

I think the opposite of what many people say, I think Rhyperior useage will go DOWN. Rhyperior was one of the few 'Raptor checks before, and, before that, did a number on Sun teams - and Victini.

-----
Random Sidenote:

Also, I might give Klingklang a go... Base 100 STAB, and a +1/+2 move avaliable isn't that bad... especially as Steel/Electric [Wild Charge] isn't exactly bad coverage. It only misses out on Lanturn, Shedinja, Ferroseed and the Magnemite line...
