The problem with that is that Gardevoir still has nothing it can do to Skuntank. Which is also sort of the problem with Lapras (Unfortunately...) and a lot of Psychic pokemon like Espeon.

Gardevoir has Will-o-Wisp. Skuntank has to Explode, basically, since it can't kill Gardevoir with Pursuit, it will set up on Sucker Punch and Taunt is almost certainly slower than Gardevoir (this is a really good reason for Voir to run Timid).

But that doesn't change the fact that Gardevoir can do nothing to Skuntank. Outside of boosted Thunderbolts I guess, but Voir doesn't want to take repeated Crunches either.

Wish/Protect/Will o Wisp/attack is a stupid set with an Expert Belt. Actually, it's pretty bad in general, and gives so many special sweepers free switch ins.

Nobody said to use those three attacks with an expert belt, by the look of it, so I'm not sure why you're really even pointing that out. :0

Espeon is better on offense, hmm? I have a CM-Psychic-Tbolt-Wish Garde in my Plat game, she's served me pretty well. Hmm.... interesting...
*continues to lurk*

I used offensive Gardy with Taunt. It runs through those stall teams with ease. (provided you take out any dark poke first... because you'll need Wish, leaving you with only Psychic... but with Taunt even Slowking/Regice are shut down with ease).

That's one thing Espeon can't do. (if you do not use Taunt, it's better to use Espeon anyway).

I also believe the Specs set has it's uses over Espeon (Focus Blast does a number to offensive Skuntanks... a OHKO with Modest nature and SR down). And hey, Thunderbolt from Gardevoir is just as strong as Magmortar one!

Anything is good ingame. If someone can solo Firered with Magicarp, then it's really easy for a decent pokemon like Gardevoir to win.

But yeah, Espeon is faster and more powerful before setting up, and can also Baton Pass. So it's better for most offences, and definately better for setting up.

LO Gardevoir actually makes a very, very good wallbreaker. It can break MilKing because it has as powerful a Thunderbolt as Magmortar while getting access to Synchronise to stop Slowking just stalling it out via paralysis. It has Will-o-Wisp to prevent the opponent revenging with Skuntank...

It would probably be something like: Psychic/Focus Blast/Thunderbolt/WoW. I am definitely trying that set out.

NU needs some sort of banning or something soon.

It isn't even fun anymore... it has become so centralized its boring. its less "fresh" than standard...

Gardevoir is excellent. Scarf with Psychic / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball / WoW
WoW is kinda fail on a Scarf set but it can outspeed physical threats and hit them, so..
But Gardevoir is still an excellent Pokemon. It helped me once survive an Arceus's Thunder and then my Feraligatr OHKO'd back with Waterfall (+4).
She's also better at taking special attacks because of her nice base S.Def.
And IMO Espeon (Cacturne too) is kinda broken for NU.

Cacturne is not broken. This denial, though I didn't give any reasoning, is hopefully sufficient. After all, you're attempting to convince us that it is broken without explanation.

Espy arguably is, but every set is flawed.

Cacturne? You put Cacturne there ignoring Magmortar, Charizard, and Skuntank? (And maybe Slowking to)

Cacturne is in no way broken. Even in the sand. While holding Brightpowder.

Seriously, NU's only clear suspect is Espeon. Anyone who denies this or tells me use *shaky* checks such as Slowking and Skuntank needs to play more NU. For straight up broken factor, run the sub Espeon set just to screw over Slowking and Skuntank, but a Sub+attack sets with entry hazards does just as fine.

About Magmortar, Ice-eyes raises a good point with Medicham. Honestly what CAN switch into this thing and live to tell the tale?!? It's like Magmortar, play*aroundable* but unlike Espeon they don't have blistering speed and have actually *checks*.

Charizard?

IMO Espeon is the biggest suspect by some margin.

Actually, Matt, do you want a game on CAP?

Later tonight, yeah. Sure.

Zard's sort of like the Mence of NU, he's got a lot of workable sets. I threw out his name because he's SO MUCH MORE suspect than Cacturne.

In order too stop 2 of the tier's biggest threats, I have been using choice gligar. With max speed and jolly, he can switch in on magmortars cross chop and earthquake. Choice band can KO espeon on the switch with stealth rock, but I use scarf to revenge espeon after another poke sacrifices to break the sub with u-turn

So, it seems that my novelty LO Pelipper is nice as a lead.
Believe me: it worked in UU. Don't ask me how.

Air Slash/HP Grass/Surf/Roost. Typhlosion can't KO... as does Primeape. Relicanth gets KOed by HP Grass. I think Armaldo/Sandslash leads won't like taking LO Surfs.

I think Primape can, if you run Stone Edge. Typhlosion can do a lot of damage to it still. And that's a lot worse against Fake Out Leads.

(Although it beats Piloswine. But who runs that as a lead besides me?)
