Hitmonchan (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
- Rapid Spin

-I really like Life orb Chan, it has power, very important priority in this meta and ability to spin, pairing it with Skuntank would give team 2 strong priority users and nice utility in general.Skuntank traps/weakens ghosts to the point when they cant switch anymore, and chan can bop them with ice punch very hard with life orb set earlier in game before skuntank tries to trap.Overall, pair this core with a decent late game sweeper/cleaner that benefits from this and youre set.

With a whopping 8 votes, Winter's Howl has won this week! Congratulations are in order n_n

This week, with the recent ban of Sceptile, I thought I would shine the light on something that definitely benefits from its ban...
rhydon.gif

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Double Dance Rhydon is a really amazing cleaner or wallbreaker (click x if it happens to set up both) and benefits from the recent ban of Sceptile (although it isn't really appreciative of the new Grass- and Water-types rising in Sceptile's wake either)

Anyways, submissions end on Friday. Have fun :)

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Leaf Storm
- Extrasensory

Lure Shiftry is a really neat partner for Rhydon, breaking apart common checks such as Weezing, Vileplume with Knock Off + Extrasensory. Furthermore, Shiftry demolishes most Water and Grass-types which Rhydon appreciates being gone, such as Samurott, Kabutops, Omastar, Barbaracle, Lilligant, and Quagsire. In return, Rhydon can beat Fire and Bug-types which Shiftry hates, as well as providing a normal resist against the likes of Kangaskhan and co.

Charizard @ Choice Specs
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power Grass
- Flamethrower / Roost / Focus Blast

Specs Charizard is a pretty cool partner for DD Rhydon as he can defeat pretty easily the opposing grass or ice type if needed, also commonly, water type (especially lanturn for Zard) like switching on Zard and Rhydon, it let us the opportunity to deal a huge amount of damages to them with HP Grass or Focus blast, while Rhydon can easily defeat or even set up on the opposing rock type for clicking x more freely with Charizard. Charizard can also easily pressure a lot of physical wall who are annoying for Rhydon such as Weezing, Gourgeist, Vileplume & cie.

Samurott @ Lum Berry/Rindo Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall
- Megahorn
- Aqua Jet

-I remember this pokemon being so good in pre Sceptile meta,it was so hard to predict the set mid ladder because you never know what to expect, both sets are so threatening and have different pokemon to deal with them.Pairing Rhydon with SD rott gives you a similar wallbreaker and weakens things for Rhydon later on,give you important priority and overall are both threatening sweepers. I like the bulky version of Rott and Lum berry is a standard item on it,while Rindo helps you lure Grasses for Rhydon.

wesley's theory (Skuntank) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 184 SpA / 136 SpD / 188 Spe
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Taunt

special Skuntank 'lures' and beats Weezing, one of the few hard-counters to DD Rhydon. it also takes care of most Grass-types that bug and/or outspeed it at +2 (Scarf Lilligant) and it weakens bulky waters that might be annoying for Rhydon to kill at full.

abomasnow.gif

Abomasnow @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Rhydon + Grass-type is usually a pretty good core as it patches up both Rhydon's 4x weaknesses to Water- and Grass-type attacks. Abomasnow is particularly helpful as it doesn't compound on Rhydon's Ice-type weakness and provides wallbreaking support against physical walls such as Gourgeist, Vileplume, and Weezing with its powerful Blizzards. It also has Ice Shard to provide priority support against faster threats such as Archeops and Vivillon.

429.png

Mismagius @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split / Taunt
- Memento

Mismagius beats traditional counters to DD Rhydon such as Weezing, Quagsire, and Gourgeist, and most importantly can use Memento to provide Rhydon more set up opportunities to run through weakened teams. In turn, Rhydon counters the biggest threat to Mismagius being Pursuit Skuntank, and does generally well versus other Mismagius checks (Mega-Audino, Swellow, Charizard etc.)
