With 5 votes, ~Eternally has cinched yet another victory, bumping his HoF record to 5. Congratulations!

This week, I decided to go with a Pokemon I have recently been having a lot of fun with as it can threaten offense with its priority Ice Shard while also blowing through most slow teams due to its nice base 60 Speed stat.

abomasnow.gif

Abomasnow @ Life Orb
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Submissions end on Friday.

tauros.png

Tauros @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Climb
- Iron Tail/Zen Headbutt
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

-Tauros is a good partner for SD abomasnow because abomasnow appreciates tauros ability to soften its checks and vice versa,it puts a lot of pressure on balanced teams and its a good cleaner that outspeeds almost whole metagame.

Mesprit @ Life Orb/Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power Ground/Thunder Wave/Stealth Rock
- Healing Wish

I feel like this set is going out of fashion, but that doesn't make it any less threatening. It's still really powerful, and provides Healing Wish and possible stealth rock support should Abomasnow fail, and deals with fighting-types. It puts a lot of pressure on both offense and defense, and combined with SD Abomasnow, can apply a lot of pressure to teams of all archetypes.

Lanturn @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 72 SpD / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Signal Beam / Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Fire

specs lanturn is a pretty cool partner for all sets of abomasnow. Lanturn is a decent fire check that help a lot Abomasnow to deal w/ things like Magmortar, Pyroar & cie. In addition, Lanturn can also check pretty easily Klinklang that is a pain for Abomasnow. And, with Hidden Power Fire Lanturn also help Abomasnow by luring(?) Ferroseed. While Abomasnow can pressure opposing Lanturn and ground type. Also, with it's amazing priority called ice shard, Abomasnow can help lanturn to beat Archeops by putting him in Defeatist range to help lanturn to come in more easily on an acrobatics/stone edge/heat wave.

samurott.gif

Samurott @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Aqua Jet
- Megahorn

Specially-based Samurott forms an interesting double-wallbreaker duo with SD Abomasnow, with the opponent not knowing either of their movesets until too late. Defensively, Samurott can switch into Fire-type attacks while Abomasnow can switch into Grass- and Electric-type attacks, and offensively Samurott helps Abomasnow against Steelix, faster Fire-types so that Abomasnow doesn't have to use Earthquake to hit them on the switch, physically defensive Grass-types like Vileplume that can take an Ice Shard but can't take Samurott's Ice Beam, and Malamar with Megahorn.

rotom.png

Rotom @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 96 HP / 244 SpA / 168 Spe
Timid Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Signal Beam
- Hex
- Volt Switch

Rotom is a solid partner, covering Abomasnow's weaknesses to Fighting/Bug/Flying type moves, while also pivoting around with volt switch to bring it in safely and let it set up. Abomasnow can switch into Swellow's Boomburst in return, which Rotom appreciates.

With a close vote, Holiano snags the victory for their second win overall! Congratulations!

This week, I decided on a Pokemon I almost never use and that mon happens to be probably one of the more threatening setup sweepers in the tier currently. I am talking about...

barbaracle.gif

Barbaracle @ Shuca Berry / White Herb
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Razor Shell
- Return
- Earthquake

Shell Smash Barbaracle is a massive threat once it gets set up thanks to its nice STAB Razor Shell backed by Tough Claws. Barbaracle's speed also helps it outspeed common Pokemon such as Swellow that other Shell Smash abusers can't hope to outspeed.

Submissions end on Friday.

Rotom @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Regular rotom is a pretty cool partner to Shell Smash Barbaracle, and set up sweeper in general due to his way to deal with a loooooooot of things that can be annoying for them with will o wisp+hex+pain split. In addition, Rotom can easily attract some things like specs Swellow or other fast things to let Barbaracle set up more easily. Rotom also deals with some wall such as Gourgeist, Steelix or Weezing that can be annoying for Barbaracle, while also help him to wear down waters type more easily with wow/hex or volt switch, and with lanturn with wow/hex+pain split. Volt Switch allow Rotom to keep the mommentum in your side to faciliate Barbaracle's set up.

Rowan (Skuntank) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 24 HP / 172 Atk / 60 SpA / 252 SpD
Mild Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Poison Jab
- Memento

yeah, really cheesy, but.. We all know what this does. Skuntank Memento's vs so many things and lets Barbaracle set-up vs things like Samurott, Archeops, Charizard.. overall a great partner as Skuntank can switch in on physical walls like Weezing too and dent it with Fire Blast, making it Barb-ready.

Jumpluff
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Sleep Powder
- U-turn
- Memento

-Provides speed for teams, momentum with U-turn and Memento support for barbaracle which is really huge since barbaracle has decent bulk to setup on a lot of things, Id say Sub is good option over earthquake with memento support because it doesnt let barbaracle gets statused and weakened next turn by priority, seed bomb can be ran over U-turn but it depends on choice.

mismagius.gif

Mismagius @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Hex
- Memento

Super obvious but Mismagius can provide consistent Memento support as well as switching into the Fighting- and Ground-types (if it runs White Herb) that can hit Barbaracle hard, while Barbaracle can switch into Pyroar that might want to come in on Mismagius. Burns from Mismagius wear down bulky threats that could otherwise check Barbaracle, and Taunt shuts down support moves and makes Memento a lot easier to pull off.

pyroar.png

Pyroar @ Life Orb
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power Grass
- Will-O-Wisp

Pyroar's nice wallbraking ability is useful to wear down some walls that are annoying for Barbaracle, such as Gourgeist, Vileplume, Steelix & cie, allowine Barbaracle to clean more easily. Furthermore, it can weaken some water type checks to Barbaracle like Poliwrath and Gastrodon, while Will-o-Wisp allow you to turn some physicall Sweeper to a set up folder for Barbaracle. Finally, some things that can revenge kill Pyroar can turn at folder for Barbaracle, like Tauros, Swellow, and Archeops.

scyther.png

Scyther @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack

CB Scyther is a great partner for Shuca Smash Barb since you can lure in Steelix, U-turn into Barbaracle and proceed to sweep. Knock Off also helps with crippling stuff like Ferroseed, helping Barb out with its sweep. Also provides a nifty quad fighting resist which is always helpful for shell smashers.
