[SET COMMENTS]
Obstagoon is an extremely lethal wallbreaker thanks to its monstrously powerful Guts-boosted Facade in addition to a strong STAB Knock Off, leaving its number of safe switch-ins very limited. Its access to Close Combat only makes it even harder to deal with, letting it power through Pokemon that could otherwise take a hit from it like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Bisharp. Because it has such perfect coverage in these three moves alone, Obstagoon has a lot of flexibility in its last moveslot. Switcheroo is the preferred option to cripple switch-ins like Skarmory and Colbur Berry Palossand, making it much easier for Obstagoon to beat them over time and potentially allowing it to gain a useful item like Leftovers from Skarmory; it will often get a less useful item like Rocky Helmet, though, or a harmful one like Black Sludge from Galarian Weezing. Taunt can be used instead, letting Obstagoon prevent Pokemon like Skarmory and Palossand from recovering; it must be wary of Body Press Skarmory, though. Bulk Up can be used over either move to boost Obstagoon's Attack to frightening levels, allowing it to OHKO Pokemon like Rotom-W and Doublade after a boost. It also makes it more resilient to revenge killing attempts from the likes of Mamoswine and Jirachi. Finally, Obstruct can be used to scout Choice item users like Mienshao and Kyurem, making it easier for Obstagoon to play around them. It also harshly lowers the foe's Defense, making it easier to break through Pokemon like Escavalier.
Late-game cleaners like Choice Scarf Mienshao, Keldeo, and Mimikyu appreciate Obstagoon's ability to bust holes in the opposing team. Keldeo in particular is a great partner, since Obstagoon can break through most of Keldeo's answers like Slowking, Roserade, and Celebi, while Keldeo can threaten Pokemon like Galarian Weezing and Skarmory that Obstagoon struggles with. Pivots like Slowking and Noivern are great options too, since Obstagoon can have some trouble getting onto the field despite its good bulk because of its susceptibility to burn damage and entry hazards. It also breaks through common answers to these Pokemon like Hatterene and Tyranitar with ease. Obstagoon is also an instrumental member on Sticky Web teams featuring setters like Araquanid and Ribombee; its immediate power makes removing entry hazards against it quite difficult, and the Speed drop Sticky Web inflicts on foes means that Obstagoon is much harder to revenge kill with the likes of Terrakion, Lycanroc-D, and Jirachi. Jirachi is also an exemplary partner for Obstagoon, being able to bring it in safely via U-turn, lure Pokemon like Skarmory and take them out with Thunder, act as a switch-in to Fairy-types like Sylveon, and potentially extend Obstagoon's life with Wish or Healing Wish. Partners that can switch into Fighting-types like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Mienshao are important, as they can easily force Obstagoon out. Palossand, Galarian Weezing, and Skarmory can fulfill this role admirably. The former can also set up Stealth Rock to aid Obstagoon in wallbreaking, while the latter two can provide Defog support to ensure that it does not get worn down too quickly.
