First new slate since the update! (Granted it's only one Pokémon but this guy had to go)

So, uh... Yeah. This guy was dumb. With Stone Axe as the item, it got the Sharpness boost of x1.5 as well as the SF boost of x1.3, giving all moves a ridiculous x1.95 boost, essentially giving a Huge Power boost as an item. If that wasn't bad enough, it has very good attack of 135 base as well as 95 base speed which is very strong with webs up, which is currently usable on anything. Furthermore, it got access now to Rock Wrecker, a 150 BP Rock recharge move, which actually has its recharge negated due to how Fortemons works with Sheer Force. Furthermore, it could use abilities like Rocky Payload or Tinted Lens to blast through anything that has a chance of living a hit - most cases it doesn't even need SD to OHKO stuff, and even did 77 percent to a Quaquaval behind screens with Rocky Payload. Yeah this guy had to go.

Edit: We're also implementing 1AC with a 3-0 vote so we won't have -Regen > 1 anymore

So with that, Urshifu, Yanmega and Light Clay are banned, Rollout and Ancient Power are restricted, and Sticky Web remains unrestricted!

(Urshifu) Honestly this guy is stupid. Wicked Blow with Sniper/Tough Claws/Tinted hits like a truck, and with Sucker Punch, SD, and a Fighting move, or any sketched move it wants, and recovery with Drain Punch as the item or just regular items to boost its power, it has proven overwhelming for the format and was therefore banned

(Yanmega) If you've played PokeAAA when this was legal, you know how powerful it was there - it is banned there after all. Having access to Speed Boost and Tinted is already strong, but when it can also use SFLO as well or other damage boosting abilities with Giga Drain item, and access any move too like Nasty Plot to increase its high damage already, then it flat out needs to go

(Light Clay) This item allowed Pokémon to very easily just set up and sweep teams, such as (the now banned) Kleavor, and was quite difficult to deal with due to the lack of defensive Pokémon in the format. It was particularly overwhelming with Sticky Web and Prankster being legal on any Pokémon too, meaning screens could be combined with Webs for an overwhelming support option

(Rollout) Rollout was, uh... Interesting, to say the least. When you use it as an item, it causes the next four hits to be Rollout, but when combined with a Multi Hit move and Skill Link, it instead doubled each hit's power, meaning it could go up to 775 BP if you don't include STAB, which is crazy damage - even though you were forced to use Rollout the turn after, Sandslash-A basically always got at least a KO when it used Icicle Spear - after Defence Curl, it even OHKOed physdef Dondozo with Icicle Spear from full! Sorry, Rollout, you're one of my favourite gimmicks, but you just had to suffer restriction

(Ancient Power) Ancient Power is getting restricted due to being highly uncompetitive - Pokémon could just use Multi Hit + Skill Link and have a 10 percent chance of getting an omniboost, five times in one turn, and have a 40.951 percent chance for at least one. If you got even an ounce of luck while using it, it could easily spin out of control with stat boosts, and this is even more annoying due to the lack of defensive Pokémon in the format. It would get worse with Light Clay banned but it's still super uncompetitive.

(Sticky Web) Sticky Web is here because it can just be given to anything with Prankster, and with Prankster Screens, it could combo into a very strong support option and be pretty hard to deal with. However, with Light Clay getting banned, the council has decided to keep it unrestricted for now

Volcanion managed to escape the ban hammer in Alphabet Cup, but here it could run abilities like Sword of Ruin, Tinted Lens and Desolate land to make its V-creates even more nuclear especially when paired with Victory Dance, while other abilities like Magic Guard and Mold Breaker were probably good too. Anyway, these abilities pushed Volcanion over the edge and resulted in it getting banned.

Chien-Pao is already banned in Alphabet Cup for being Chien-Pao, and while it does get coverage like Collision Course and Crabhammer here, the higher power level of the tier and the fact it normally wants to run its base ability anyway makes it less broken.

(Glare) While Glare was restricted in Alphabet Cup, some of the main abusers like Gliscor and Gholdengo made it broken because of their abilities (which are banned here), so it was given a chance here.

Camove teams I built/modified in ISTT. Most of them are edits of teams I already had in my builder. I also used passed teams a couple times but won't post them out of respect. Games were wins unless specified otherwise. Thanks to The Hisui Region/Akira 153 for supporting

Better than most if not all of the samples imo. Plays more like BH bulky offense than anything resembling stall because Mabosstiff is broken and lacks viable defensive counterplay. Ghost/Fairy Tornadus is about as reliable a Spinner as you can get without resorting to -ate/Scrappy, and hits some frailer offensive mons surprisingly hard. The only losing matchup I've encountered so far is literally the same structure with something over Ditto (though that inherently makes you weaker against strong enough setup users).

Incoherent team that I loaded because I was up in a bo3 set. Being completely reliant on manual Magic Bounce for hazard deterrence is obviously ridiculous and Torn-T should've been Rapid Spin at the very least. Deserved loss

Steel/Flying Regen is a nice secondary Knock absorber on stall, especially after the Magnet Pull ban removed the main cause of inconsistency. Leftovers on defensive mons is almost necessary imo because 8 PP recovery means you'll otherwise lose long-term to competent offensive cores. For similar reasons Cresselia is just better than Latias on fat imo

Generic 2 Regen balance with Psystrike Zeraora for Electric/Poison. As is with the first team you can Regen pivot --> Ditto to scout opposing sets, and of course Scarf Imposter is very nice when running reliable setup control (a combination of Spectral Thief/Haze/Topsy-Turvy/Clear Smog/phazing etc. to have a gameplan against all possible setup) isn't feasible. Bloodmoon is also underrated, Poison/Elec and random niche typings are the only real hindrances

Similar to the above team but edited to have a strong Sun matchup. Lopunny is also very solid and boom is probably broken on it – even outside of that it can randomly live hits a surprising portion of the time to get to +4, at which point it OHKOes almost everything. Non-Bug/Steel Coalossal means random combinations of coverage might get you but this team seems relatively resilient vs. on-paper bad matchups anyway

I figured my opponent would have access to good teams and/or actually prep so I modified the above team. Reuniclus generally has good matchup into Poison/Electric and is an actually reliable long-term switchin thanks to Magic Guard for Mortal Spin.

So with that, Dondozo, Lilligant-Hisui, Enamorus-base, Noivern and Dragonite are all banned.

(Dondozo) This guy was way too bulky. It took ~15 percent from a Rock Recker Lycanroc-Dusk with SF and Tough Claws. Yeah, with Unaware and Fluffy, it took way too little damage from physical attacks, which was elevated by its natural 150/115 physical bulk. Furthermore, it gains access to better healing moves like Strength Sap or Shore Up to heal massively without the need for Rest to put it to sleep for two turns. It also had decent attack too which lets it use Curse very effectively. Furthermore, while it didn't have any moves it could really use as the item effectively with Body Press being restricted, it could use Rocky Helmet and really punish physical attackers. Honestly glad it's banned, it was dumb as hell and I hate it so much here.

(Lilligant-Hisui) While I didn't get to see it or use it very much, I do understand it was extremely strong - it could combine Flower Trick, Victory Dance, Hustle and Sniper/Tinted Lens to keep counterplay to quad resists and immunities. Again, since I didn't see or use it very much, I don't have much else to say.

(Enamorus-base) This had two sets it had a lot of success with - physical (with Superpower as item increasing its Attack and Def every time it attacked - for some reason Spin Out didn't increase speed but it was still very strong) and special (where it could spam Fleur Cannon and get SpA boosts). Both these sets were too much to deal with as Contrary is a cracked ability and could stack with various other abilities such as Tinted Lends, Beads of Ruin or Sword of Ruin, and the guessing game of it being either physical or special was too much for the tier.

(Noivern) Hopefully everyone here knows that this is a menace in AAA due to Specs Aerilate Boomburst and good coverage, good speed and good enough SpA. Here, it becomes even better - it gains access to any coverage move or special Dragon move or Nasty Plot for insane damage, and could use Absorb as the item to heal a lot.

(Dragonite) Here lies another Aerilate offender who is banned in AAA, except with a different move - Espeed. With its high base attack, natural Multiscale to help set up super easily, Roost, very good coverage, Fire Spin as item to wear down and trap bulkier or weaker Pokémon, and a decent SpA stat which it could use a variety of special moves with such as Flamethrower or Thunder Bolt, and any coverage it wants to defeat different walls, it was overbearing, especially with +2 priority 96 BP STAB. I will not miss this at all.

Hi! This post is mostly a send-off for a team I really enjoyed (RIP Dondozo), but also a call to arms: (semi)stall can work in Fortissimons, and here’s a showcasing of it.

So, I was going to get some fun replays to showcase the team in action but then one of the members (Dondozo) got banned so I guess I'll just have to do without them lol.

Very standard Cetitan, Play Rough is purely for the sheer force boost, at first I thought Chilling Water would be better to bypass Fluffy since it's not a contact move, like how Draining Kiss enables Fluffy because it is one. For some reason it doesn't work like that though, I don't know if that's intended but it's noteworthy regardless. With 2 Chilly Reception's on the team, it finds ample opportunities to launch off it's insane 180 BP STAB SF boosted Giga Impact.

A very cool offensive hazard remover which takes no damage from them and can easily sweep lategame. Volt tackle is there mainly for Primarina who resists both of it's stabs, even having a 75% chance to OHKO a max HP Primarina without any Moxie boosts.

Admittedly I did not come up with this set myself, credits go to Banded Body Press and when I saw it in a match I just knew I had to use it on a semi-stall team. Twin Beam with Acid Spray hits so hard even with no SpA investment, meaning you're not a sitting duck to the opposing special attacker if it decides to set up. Chilly Reception is also an option to both set snow and pivot, punishing a frail special attacker staying in with Cetitan.

This might be my favorite mon of the bunch, it's SO bulky even without an assault vest like it runs in AAA. Dtail Volt Switch means that you'll be the same priority as teleport and since Goodra is so slow you're nearly guaranteed to get the slower pivot. If they decide to stay in and set up, well Volt Switch forces them out anyways and you can pivot to the mon best suited to counter whoever just came in.

This was mainly for when Lilligant-H was still legal, as it was capable of OHKOing Dondozo at +1 or with a Choice Band/Life Orb so it was kinda necessary to have a quad-resist to Flower Trick. Burning Bulwark is also very nice to have, threatening the burn on any non-fire physical attackers. Chilly Reception is there for pivoting and enabling Cetitan at the same time.

The WALL, this thing dies to almost nothing physical. It deserved to be banned cause my god was this thing a cheat code. If you're not carrying a STAB SE move you're probably never 2HKOing this thing and if you decide to set up with an attacker that ignores Unaware, you're not gonna outboost Ssap + Curse. The cherry on top: Tablets of Ruin isn't even ignored by Mold Breaker or Photon Geyser meaning you'll always take at most 75% from a physical attack.

This team did exceptionally well, with the final version going undefeated across several matches and having 6-0'd 2/3 of the Tier Leaders of this format. (I wasn't able to fight Splodge in time sadly)

I feel like defensive archetypes are definitely underexplored in this format and it could probably become even better if more people look into it. While the recent ban of Dondozo has definitely hit (semi)stall hard, I don't believe it's the end of the archetype and it could absolutely still be the dominant one even.

With that, I decided to join of these tours and build a bit, so here I am showcasing some of the sets. Take these with a grain of salt though, as I had absolutely no idea on this meta other than reading the Trademarked OP when I was building.

He's your standard Gliscor and it just gets better here as it gets Poison Heal+Trademarked which is really neat. I ran Spikes Meowscarada while I was playing, which is why it's Stealth Rock, but I'd say either works. Toxic for chip, Knock Off because it's Knock Off, pivot, and protect to heal. Standard Gliscor but it just gets better here.

(Dragapult) Dragapult is definitely quite dangerous with Dragon Darts, with multiple different sets it could use, like Assurance, Technician, Band, Dragon's Maw, Adapt with Ghost move, and more - it was extremely versatile in the amount of sets it could run. Therefore, we have decided to ban it.

(Ogerpon-Hearthflame) Ogerpon is way too good here - despite being restricted to wearing the Hearthflame Mask as its item meaning it can't use Fortemons, it has insane damage. Ivy Cudgel + Solar Blade + Desolate Land + SD + 1.2x item boost + any coverage move it wants was extremely powerful, as it uses a 120 base attack stat and had a very nice speed tier of 110 base. Furthermore, to make things worse, she gets Mold Breaker, to ignore anyone using immunity abilities or Unaware to cheese her (unless, of course, they use Ability Shield, but basically no one uses that). Idk how I missed her before

(Cetitan) Natural Sheer Force strikes again! Not much to say here, except that it abused Refrigerate- and Sheer Force- boosted Giga Impact (shouldn't be a surprise at this point). Combine this with Snow for Slush Rush and a 1.5x Def boost, it becomes a very fast and strong menace under snow, especially with Swords Dance as the sketch.

(Gouging Fire) This time it's a more bulky offender again. Gouging Fire is certainly is interesting - it can abuse either offensive sets with Ddance and use combinations like Bitter Blade + Desolate Land, or it could abuse defensive sets and annoy opponents with Fluffy + Morning Sun + Burning Bulwark, which makes it very obnoxious for offensive teams as Burning Bulwark is also just a free burn on most physical attackers, effectively shutting them down without batting an eyelid. (Also yes we have banned two fire types)

(Scizor) This is known for being the Technician Bullet Punch spam Pokémon, except here, it can do more - Steelworker sets for extra power, or Tinted for resists, or even Loaded Dice or Skill Link Pin Missile. After an SD, it can do huge amounts of damage to offensive Pokémon, and with the removal of two strong Fire types, this can do even better. However, Bullet Punch focused sets are walled by bulkier Pokémon who can use Unaware, and it's slow so can be defeated by many Fire and Steel types still, so the council has decided to not ban it for now.

Despite its underwhelming stats, the combination of Mold Breaker, Unburden, Simple, and a surprisingly good offensive typing meant Hawlucha was a powerful matchup fish that could 6-0 inadequately prepared teams. One could argue that Simple was what really broke it, but Booster Energy sets are also theoretically similarly constricting and Simple currently has significant other applications in the metagame.


Power Trip was banned in BH and functioned more or less identically here.

Ice Scales Clefable could hardwall basically any Take Heart setup and was impossibly hard to break through via outplays thanks to Magic Guard. Likewise, while matchup-fishy Fur Coat Clefable basically mandated passive setup counterplay (or pivoting + a sufficiently strong physical breaker with longevity) with Take Heart sets. While not impossible to have a gameplan against by any means, Clefable was banned for being uninteractive in-game and overly contributing to the centralization of the metagame around the combination of misc. physical breakers and Regenerator pivots.


Choice Band Mold Breaker Medicham OHKOed neutral Arceus formes with Close Combat after any chip, and Bolt Strike OHKOed Dondozo with Bolt from full and Intimidate Toxapex after Stealth Rock. Combined with other coverage moves like Gigaton Hammer and Wicked Blow, that meant with hazard support and correct predicts Medicham could OHKO everything bar Imposter. Additionally, Choice Scarf sets with a boosting Ability could also exert ridiculous pressure, with Sword of Ruin sets 2HKOing Ho-Oh with Close Combat. All this in combination with teammates with pivoting and 100 base Speed meant Medicham was unreasonable to defensively or offensively deal with, and a ban was warranted.


Likewise, Choice Band Desolate Band Ogerpon-H could OHKO neutral Arceus formes with V-create after Stealth Rock and OHKO non-Eviolite Imposter after de-EVing, and coverage like Solar Blade and Diamond Storm were sufficient to handle most resists.

STAAABMONS UPDATE​

Hello once more, Mashups! It's good to be back :) Just popping in with a STAAABmons balance patch as part of the tier's revival. I hope that with your help, we can send this tier into a renaissance!


Effective immediately, Garchomp, Hisuian Zoroark, Ogerpon-Water, and Roaring Moon are banned from STAAABmons.

Garchomp basically does whatever it wants to do, regardless of how many ground-immune Steel types are on your team. The versatility of AAA chomp further compliments the expansive movepool of the banned STABmons version, giving it an option to deal with anything you could throw at it. The worst offender was by far the Swords Dance + Loaded Dice + Technician set, which gave it a whopping 150-175 base power on its STABS, with the option of running coverage for checks or Shore Up to compliment its solid bulk while setting up.

Hisuian Zoroark is a Normal/Ghost type with access to Normalize + Entrainment. When combined with Spirit Shackle and Spooky Plate Judgement, Hizo is able to trap and neutralize any Pokemon with less than 110 base speed. Playing around this is immensely difficult, as you are forced to choose between letting a faster pokemon tank a 120 base power STAB Ghost attack, or having a slower pokemon attempt to pivot into a teammate who can deal with it. This is not fun, not fair, and not a novelty worth preserving.

By far the most powerful Ogerpon form thanks to its excellent typing and STAB combination, Ogerpon-Wellspring abuses Flower Trick and Ivy Cudgel to bypass nearly every common check for physical attackers; neither move makes contact and cannot be stopped by Fluffy or Burning Bulwark, the guaranteed/high crit rate makes Intimidate and Strength Sap ineffective/inconsistent, and the absurd power of Primordial Sea Ivy Cudgel is enough to blow through dedicated checks like Amoonguss and Chesnaught with a Swords Dance boost. We didn't even get into its other options, like U-Turn, Stone Axe, and Strength Sap, all of which require different counterplay.

Roaring Moon can also do whatever it wants to do. The biggest offenders here have been the staple sets of Choice Item Sword of Ruin and Regenvest, and Offensive Dragon Dance can be even scarier in favorable circumstances. The presence of Roaring Moon in the tier requires every team to pack a physically defensive Fighting or Fairy type or risk getting steamrolled by a rather bulky Pokemon that outspeeds every other scarfer and 2HKOs nearly everything else. Roaring Moon has been a stifling presence in the tier and the team variety within the tier will flourish in its absence.


With these threats gone, I'd like to spotlight some lesser known sets that may benefit from the absence of these threats:

This pokemon recently got banned from STABmons and we are following suit here in STAB and Mega, it snowballed quickly with reliable healing, take heart and esper wing, and would tear through teams with little checks and even be an issue for Magearna who resists both STAB moves, as well as, other steel types.

While not immediately threatening, Torch Song, with its immediate +1 boost, was used by specially offensive Fire-types like Heatran and Iron Moth to take advantage of being able to force pokemon to swap out, removing the consistency of most switch-ins and answers to the likes of Clodsire, Ting-Lu and Tyranitar depending on the Torch Song user. This inconsistency in defensive counterplay made it overwhelming to play against for the majority of teams.

Meloetta was recently banned in STABmons here. It seems fair that it is banned here as it gets an even stronger ability, for instance, Magic Guard to go along with Calm Mind and Esper Wing.

Dragonite is really self-explanatory, as it gets the powerful combination of Aerilate Extreme Speed, giving it strong, reliable Flying-Type STAB and priority.

Clangorous Soul has been really problamatic, especially on bulkier mons that can heal and set-up such as Latias. As shown here, here, and here.

Thundurus-Therian gets really powerful STAB moves in Aeroblast and Electro Drift, as well as priority from Thunderclap. It gets Nasty Plot to set-up, and Focus Blast hits most of its dedicated checks (RegenVest Ting-Lu, RegenVest Hisuian Goodra) as strong coverage. It's hard to find a good Thundy check while still be able to function as a good team member and not being too hyperspecific.

Grouping these two together because they both do very similar jobs. These Ogerpon forms exploit the fact they can use other forms's STABs (Ogerpon-Hearthflame can run Stone Axe because Ogerpon-Cornerstone is Rock Type). Some common sets we've seen include Sharpness (Stone Axe+Leaf Blade+Bitter Blade), Magic Guard (Head Smash, Flare Blitz), and Desolate Land (for Ogerpon-Hearthflame) with Ivy Cudgel and Flower Trick. Additionally it has Swords Dance to set up. Ogerpon-Cornerstone can also run Rocky Payload.

What is Mix n' Boosted?​

Mix n' Boosted is a mashup of Mix and Mega and Bad n' Boosted, where stat modifications from Mix and Mega apply first. This means that any of your custom megas with a stat of 70 or less will have that stat doubled by Bad n' Boosted, leading to some very high BSTs! This leads to a powerful metagame with a high amount of variability, encouraging creativity in teambuilding. Because stat changes from Mix and Mega apply first, Sablenite Skarmory, for example, has base stats 130/90/190/120/120/80.

Diancite

Diancite is far and away the best mega stone in this format, as its usual drawback (lowered defenses) can be used to lower middling stats below 71, letting them be doubled. Diancite also boosts most quick Pokémon beyond the base 140 speed threshold, allowing them to avoid common speed ties. Because of this, it is often a valid teambuilding strategy to pick a Diancite user and build around them. Some of the best users include:

I'm surprised Smeargle isn't banned. With 110/110/130 defenses and Mold Breaker, it's great for hazard stack or other supporting roles, but it also has the offenses to pull off crazy sets like this:

Eviolite has been banned in Mix n’ Boosted!


Mix n’ Boosted began with Eviolite unbanned due to the higher power level compared to base Bad n’ Boosted. However, despite high attack threats like Diancite and Rusted Sword , some NFE and LC pokemon like Quaxwell (140/130/120), Clefairy (140/96/130), Eelektrik (130/140/140), and Girafarig (140/130/130) are able to become nearly unkillable with the 1.5x boost to their defenses. Additionally, the lack of Knock Off in the tier means these Eviolite users almost never have to worry about losing their item.

Not sure if we can update STABmons Ubers VR anytime soon, but I'd like to comment on some stuff especially with post-tera, post-bans metagame.

New --> A+ Probably one of the best Pokemon in the tier. You can run it on pretty much any archetype and it'll perform. CM, Scarf, Specs, Utility, AoA, Sash or Booster Energy, it can run pretty much anything it wants and get away with it. Also helps that Groudon is a solid defensive guy at the moment and an enabler for sun, so you can abuse Flutter Mane on Sun very easily. Flutter Mane also happens to be the best offensive Sun check in the game since you outspeed and pummel most of the abusers with Fleur Cannon. I think it could legitimately be an S or S- tier mon, but it is linear in what it runs and can be (for STUBers standards) easily answered.

S --> S- Took a fairly massive hit with the Gigaton Hammer ban. I think the offensive-defensive profile is there but you don't have the luxury of clicking Gigaton on virtually the entire tier. Shift Gear is still annoying, TR can catch quite a few people off guard and defensive sets are alright into the threats here. Tera ban also means it is less likely (but still VERY MUCH capable) of getting away with Rage Fist Shenanigans.

S --> A+ This is a bit more controversial. I think Zacian's main benefit, other than its speed and offenses, were its access to Tera. Tera helped you switch match-ups on Ho-Oh and NDM with Electric / Fighting helping out respectively. Without Tera, you struggle significantly more into these resists. You don't gain much in STAB aside from the Fairy-type aside from Magical Torque and the rarely seen Moonlight, and you gain virtually nothing from the Steel-type. Still a very solid offensive threat and works well as speed control.

C+ --> B I know this is just baby Palkia-Origin, but I think we underestimated how good the speed boost is from Sun. Yes, you really hate Flutter Mane, but if you take a look at the B ranks, you notice that they're kinda meh overall. I definitely think that Walking Wake is superior to Palkia Origin on Sun especially with the Clangorous Soul ban in mind, and you're about as good as Chi-Yu on sun. You sacrifice crazy breaking power for more speed and a bit more consistency with both Specs and Boots working well.

, --> Higher ; These guys got better with the Tera Ban. Now you can't cheese Gira-O by turning Fairy (or Normal) and Gira-O has a pretty solid MU into top tiers like Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre and arguably NDM too. Zamazenta-Crowned really likes people not running Tera Poison or Ghost to screw it and also appreciates the big boys losing their gigaton hammers. With Victory Dance and that speed, you check pretty much every Dark-type in the tier offensively.

A --> A- Still very strong, but no tera means that you struggle into NDM and Zacian-Crowned. Also feels weird putting this with its A-ranked contemporaries. Incidentally, I think Garchomp could also drop down and take KyuB's slot here since I also feel that it depended on Clangorous Soul and Tera a lot. However, Chomp has a pretty scary Scarf set that might clinch it as an A+ ranker.

--> Lower (thinking A- or B+). I was eyeing other drops but a lot of them evened out. Maybe Mewtwo, Lunala and Terapagos could drop in the future but I think they still have potent niches in the tier namely the last 2 which provide useful utility options whilst simultaneously trading with everything in the tier. Dialga losing Tera, Clangorous Soul AND Gigaton Hammer is a huge blow since it cuts it set diversity significantly. I could even see it dropping to B, but you do still have Shift Gear, Specs and Offensive TR to fall back on plus a solid typing for Kyogre. Dialga Origin could rise too since you appreciate the special defense buff and aren't as screwed running it thanks to the bans (meaning less opportunity cost for not running base Dialga).

--> Lower. Pretty sure I only ranked this guy highly because of E-Killer sets and that is now gone. B is fine because you can still run Band or DD on screens and get away with it. I was tempted to make a case for rising Dragonite from UR but its still several degrees worse than Rayquaza to even consider. I would probably run Band Mence > any dnite set if I wanted the Dragon/Flying spam so badly.

--> B- ? I forgot what this guy did. Ig he can check Ho-Oh and Groudon pretty well. Not really a serious nom, but I don't think Gliscor is up to par with the rest of B.

--> B+ You punish NDM and Zacian-Crowned a lot better with Beak Blast now that tera is banned. Sits on most Groudons, chumps Chomps and man-handles Landos too.

and could be lower, but I don't really have a passionate argument to make here. Zekrom kinda muscles through grounds with chip (altho much less likely because you don't have Tera Grass / Flying) and Giratina can do kooky stuff with Infernal Parade though it is still passive.

, , --> Higher. All of these guys appreciate Tera being out of the picture. No tera-improofs and no Ghost tera to worry about. Go wild. I would say Gothitelle --> B-, Dugtrio to B-, and Ditto to B. I reckon that Dugtrio is slightly better as removing a defensive Steel-types for your dragons is of greater significance and the stuff that Dugtrio (even adamant Dugtrio) traps is greater than Gothitelle. But both are fairly niche at the end of the day.

--> C- Last nom that I'll discuss in-depth. I think Ninetales has the tiniest of niches here as an Aurora Veil setter for Kyurem-Black. Grimmsnarl largely outclasses this Pokemon for majority of teams and I have a suspicion that I would sooner use Klefki over it if Grimmsnarl weren't here. However, facilitating a strong (albeit slightly nerfed) Pokemon in Kyurem Black is a solid enough niche worth considering. Prior to the tera ban, you want KyuB to tera out of Ice/Dragon into something like Ground, Fire or Electric in order to do massive damage or gain a better defensive profile. With that gone, I reckon it is worth investing in a Pokemon that can guarantee you extra defensive bulk on top of Reflect. Alolan Ninetales' typing is also nice since you hit the other weather setters and Dragon-types hard.

post tpp pokebh thoughts (i'm not teamdumping because they all either werent built by me or suck)

the meta's in a kinda awkward spot rn where you either run like 3 regen mons and stall your opp to death (or play 200 turns to put yourself into a position where some sorta setup wins) or you run completely unhinged offensive mons and the game ends in 10 turns. i want to mostly focus on the first point since its actually boring to play with and against. therefore i would like to propose restrictions on regenerator.

the 3 options that are available to nerf regen are a full restriction, 1 regen clause, and 2 regen clause. imo 2 regen clause won't fix the core problem since regen cores would still exist with 2 mons, and full regen restrict would kind of nuke the entire meta since it was built with regen in mind from the start. 1 regen clause seems like the most ideal restriction.

also, random stuff we can maybe (possibly) free

- yes orichalcum pulse is broken but it has 135atk its NOT breaking through fur coats any more than something like sor metagross or mold/sor aerodactyl. especially considering stuff like heatran, altaria and dondozo are very real and can take fire moves pretty well. therefore it has to hit sick ass predicts to do good, which is a problem when you factor in that both of the non dragon move doesn't do enough to imp. all of the factors above combined makes me think its not that broken and can maybe be freed.

so yes, you can theoretically get insane calcs but every move i didnt show here does very neglegible damage so you can predict around it.

- i'm actually not convinced this can break through any variant of ting-lu at all (besides maybe fc), alongside struggling with best mon in tier ho-oh and other random stuff like bronzong or heatran. it also has light 4mss and has problems picking its ability (mglo for hooh/heatran, beads for ting, moldy for heatran, etc). its versatile but it cant beat all its checks at once, and it also doesnt benefit from pokebilities, which is why i think its fine to be freed.

You guys should probably try to limit to a maximum of 10 (most viable) types like reg Camo does, otherwise it's just illegible while being also useless at helping people building or understanding the meta unfortunately... By nature, Camove allows to run so many typings so, even though some of them really stand out sometimes, you should prob try to base this list on usage rather than listing all possible options (that are prob not even all listed lol). Paired with the great List of Viable Moves you did, this should be enough to help people understand what are the common options among all possible ones without their brain frying when looking at such madness (39 typings for Valiant if I'm not mistaken) lmao. Nice work otherwise!

6-2 camove tpp teamdump and explanations. unlike sSOME people cough cough cOUGLJSgzhuehgj Aerobee Fc i have just a shred of hope for this tier and my games in this tour further reinforce my belief that this tier is not the matchup fest SOMEEE people make it out to be. not all of these teams are good


W1 vs aerobee (W)
this guy is good some even say hes the best but i figured this game would be pretty easy because he loathes camove and therefore doesnt build a lot. i was expecting him to bring something a modified version of something he already brought because he's not gonna experiment with some shit week 1 so i just built for that. steel flying coal for reuni, glisc for hard stall, garg for mabosstiff and something else that i forgot, torque boots mola for lopunny, that gyara set because its broken, and between coal and vaporeon all steel flying zera sets are checked (edrift ep searing shot psystrike) and everything is improofed. it worked and i won pretty easily. this team is NOT GOOD though !! it has a lot of bad matchups

W2 vs BandedBodyPress (W)
we agreed to both bring revdance so i chose knock diancie and he chose not to bring revdance and bring hdb ditto instead. he brought hdb ditto, so he instalost off preview. not much to say about this team its just stacking residual damage so diancie and deo can clean and bbp is historically a little not good so i thought this would be fine. love u tho bbp. the teams okay but not great and diancie should be fiery wrath. shoutout fishboy nicknames qtfox and shoutout Felucia not knowing what a waffle is

W3 vs TheTrueLtaker (L)
i have like a 100% winrate vs this guy with zera mlati ditto fat but he brought mixed electric and i got hella fucked. a lot of things went wrong like if i realized his latias was -spdef not -def and clicked tcage with the ditto or if his latias was edrift (kills always) or if i killed his glowking with my glowking when it survived on 4 (prob didnt matter but im coping) or if his euphonos ahh bluna was any other spread (more offensive means it dies to my glowking and less offensive means it doesnt 2hko but it got the exact sweet spot so god damn u euphonos). i also wanted to load grass fairy hydrapple but changed my mind last second </333 ttlt played rlly well and im proud but also im a lil mad

W4 vs Kinetic (W)
i figured i had to bring sun some week cuz its broken as hell esp vs fat so i decided to bring it vs this guy cause hes smokin the aerobee joint 24/7. lo focus blast moon (IF IT HITS) breaks all the coalossals that would give it trouble and blue flare ohkos kills everything else at +2 even blissey from full. moon is broken too. but i faced ho which is the most giga ass matchup vs sun and whats worse is that it had a heatran that hardwalled my latias. however, aerobee is not very good at building ho and kinetic is not very experienced in camove so i was able to scrape by with moon after a turn 1 focus miss which i wouldve instawon without cuz of latias.

W5 vs Mashing -
this week i got act called by my opponent who showed up 30 minutes late, act from a team that never really had a chance to make playoffs from the moment they posted their signup is kinda crazy but wtv and some of us are on this pokemon site to play pokemon tho. team is pretty solid its actually one of the best ones ive made, its edited a little bit for the matchup (original has steel grass hippo and water fairy hydrapple and knock mspin pex), this exca is great vs clas's flimsy building cores as i knew clas was going to be building for mashing, heatran is a 6-0 to the sun he might bring, hydrapple shuts down both water flying zera and elec psn latias in one slot, pex is comeuppance to preserve the 97 bp on exca (prob not worth it) and lati is good too. i definitely woulda won this if i played but it is what it is, waffle used the same paste next week and absolutely humbled their slot which u can find here good work man I ONLY LOST TWICE DONT BELIEVE THE HATERS

W6 vs splodhe (W)
scizor is good and gigaton hammer is better, splodge has like 0% steel usage but steels still get nuked by sciz, between that and ditto and the obligatory bloodmoon check (cress) i figured i should win against whatever he brings and then i just patched up weaknesses with the other 3 slots. no idea what i was cookin with that torn LOOL but alr and uh shouts qtfox for the pb nicknames even tho u dont play that. i expect an extraordinarily unfunny splodge one liner regarding a very unimportant aspect of this post within 24 hours don't let me down splodge

W7 vs Akira (L)
so all of his other teams were super fire weak and not improofed and then i load double fire ditto into a giga improofed max def rocky helmet coal team so like fml. standard ass sets, reuni to check steel flying zera and mortal on random stuff, dtail on pex for random selfproof normal guys. i don think the matchup was even that bad but then he did some crazy ass clicks like secret sword from zera on my reuniclus and pulled court change outta his ass and then the ditto turn with nature power, actual insane player massive +10000 respect and social credit just watch the game if u havent. also i calced itemless knock vs my own reuni instead of knock with item so i lost that mon unfort.. hey akira why did the baby piano end the world? to get to the other side

Semis vs Hiusi guy (W)
lol blissey mola coal vs blissey mola coal but my mons tried harder though so i won. darkrai is a darkrai because its has the strongest spa over 110 speed that i know of. broken ass defensive core and broken ass offensive ho killer roserade and ho killer ditto and specs trick darkrai to cripple stuff that walls roserade like blissey and it actually did work. idk what the hell he loaded lol but this 6 looks pretty cool on preview i like roserade hit me up king l5 maybe we can manage the roseraiders in tpp next year

Finals vs BandedBodyPress (W)
no clue how i didnt use ursaluna at all in this tour before this because its pretty clearly the best mon in the tier to me and it sure as hell proved that this game with 2 blunas showing up and killing something almost every time they came in. i didnt really prep for anything specific i just built something good that can win against anything, bluna is very good and ditto is very good and pidgeot is alright but its a good offensive presence especially with double healing grass coal to wall psn elec mlati. the stall/super fat matchup is probably not this great with this team because there's no knock but it's still probably the best one here and bluna + a little yellow magic can beat any defensive core anyway. GG

final thoughts are that if ur tryna build, dont build the kind of stuff i do cuz most of the time cuz i like optimizing matchups and bringing fun stuff but if u wanna win bring bloodmoon and ditto or some combination of diancie lele dhelmise mabosstiff lopunny zera mega scizor lycanroc dusk mgarde or some other guys high on the vr, bluna is broken but theres never been a better time for camove
