How this works

There will be between 6 teams this year. Each team will have 6 starters and at least 3 subs (minimum roster size of 9). The players are bought using the 100k credits that managers receive during the auction. Managers and co-managers will be allowed to purchase themselves as players for their team at a fixed price of 13.5k. The managers must inform the hosts (BoingK, Akeras and velvet) of all self-purchases before the beginning of the auction. Teams can win their weekly matchups by winning 4 of the 6 matches their players have to play. Players listed on an OMPL roster will not be allowed to play but may still manage a team. Those managing an OMPL team will not be allowed to play or manage.

This year's tiers are Almost Any Ability, Balanced Hackmons, Godly Gift, Mix and Mega, STABmons, and Inheritance.

It is recommended that all games are played on SmogTours with the current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Games can be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server if and only if both players agree, but run a higher risk of interference from server restarts/crashes. The result between players may be decided in a best-of-one or best-of-three at both players' discretion. If there is no agreement, the result will decided in a Bo1 by default.

Points will be awarded according to the result in a week: a win is 2 points, a draw is 1 point, and a loss awards no points. In addition, the manner in which the round has been won will also be recorded, i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").

Playoffs:
Each team will play one another in a round-robin regular season format. Based on the final standings, the top 4 teams will enter the knockout phase of the tournament, with the semi-finals consisting of the first seed playing the fourth seed, and the second seed playing the third seed. Finals will then consist of the winners of each semi-final draw.

Tiebreaker

In the event of two teams being tied for a spot in the finals based on points and win differential, or there is a tie in the final round itself, we will have a tiebreaker round(s).

Tiebreak Procedure:
Both teams submit three strike choices, ranked. The hosts process both lists at the same time until we end up with three metas (if both of them strike the same meta at some point) or more likely, four unstruck metas. If there are four, the hosts randomly pick three of the four for tiebreaker.

Substitutes

Substitutes are to be used in the case of extenuating circumstances, whether on the first day of the week, or the last. At the same time, players should be relatively well-aware of who all are available to play in the opponent's camp. If last-minute substitutes are being frequently used or abused and the hosts find explanations unsatisfactory, the hosts still reserve the right to veto them. Teams are only granted a maximum of two substitutes per week to prevent the abuse of substitutions. Any substitutions after the second will be vetoed.
  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

Welcome back to the Annual BH Reviews!, this week was pretty deciding one for most and also featured some unique sets.

:Psyduck: Hisui Guy vs Damflame 3 :garganacl:
:Groudon: :Arceus-Ghost: :Yveltal: :Flutter Mane: :Eternatus: :Celesteela: - :Koraidon: :Celesteela: :Arceus-Ground: :Chansey: :Ho-oh: :Dondozo:
Lets Start with my own Teams game, so firstly Damflame cooked a team consisting of Magic Guard Koraidon, Regenerator Celesteela, Ice Scales Taunt Magma Storm Groundceus, and Sticky Barb Ho-Oh. Overall this team is pretty solid and doesnt have many bad mu's besides like Mega Sceptile. Meanwhile, on Preview Hisui Guy seems to be running a Offensive team? possibly with SNR Ghostceus, Either Flare boost or Nomalize Flutter Mane, MGLO Eternatus, Clear Amulet Bulky Yvetal, and possibly the Same set with Groudon (Quick Note, apparently Hisui Guy's team was passed by TTTech_ so thats why u see those clear amulet Pokemon:@). This Matchup Looks to be Balanced but purely depends on which sets either team is Running.

Match Starts with Chansey being able to Scout that Hisui guy's Celesteela is Prankster with Court Change, basically confirming that the team is fully offensive, later on this gets cemented with the reveal of Normalize Flutter Mane, which Damflame's team has limited answers to, only having Revelation Dance on his Arceus-Ground. More turns pass with nothing Major besides the Reveal of Judgment Eternatus to Self-Improof itself untill Hisui Guy switchs in his Groudon which reveals to be a Bulky Clear Amulet Spirit Shackle Set, managing to take out the Celesteela and Chip down the Ho-Oh to Half untill forced to switch due to Topsy-Turvy. Damflame does manage to quickly comeback into the game due in part of Taunt Groundceus and the Entry Hazards put down so far, being able to pick off the Groudon and the rather troublesome Flutter Mane.

The Taunt Groundceus once again comes in clutch as it stops the Ghostceus from using No Retreat. A couple of turns go by of shuffling between Ho-oh Dondozo and Celesteela Eternatus respectively, untill Damflames Groundceus manages to come in while being severely chipped and regain back all of its hp with Strength Sap, which just means Groundceus can pick off the rest of Hisui Guy's team, making it unwinnable, and on turn 57 the Battle ends. This was a well-fought battle between both teams but i think Hisui Guy could have potentially won this matchup if he had played just a bit more correctly with flutter Mane. this makes Damflame unbeaten in BH currently with the overall record of 2-2 while Hisui Guy's record becomes 1-2.

:pichu: Geomancy vs lemonstre1 :togekiss:
:Flutter Mane: :Blissey: :Lucario-mega: :Arceus-Ghost: :kyogre-primal: :Celesteela:- :Lucario-Mega: :Arceus-Ghost: :Chansey: :Ho-Oh: :Yveltal: :Dialga-Origin:
MagearnaTheBoss was unavaliable at the time of the match so Geomancy had to step in for him and this game was a interesting One. On Preview both teams seem to be running the combination of Mega Lucario and Arceus-Ghost to the improof it, with Lemon is opting for more utility with Pokemon like Magic Guard Ho-Oh, maybe Fur Coat Yveltal, and Dialga-Origin. while Geomancy is instead using another powerful attacker in Flutter Mane, who may be normalize (no way we have 3 this week right..) and bulky pivots in the remaining three to bring them in. overall this MU looks pretty solid for both teams, however Geomancy's MU to Arceus-Ghost does not look good, especially if its SNR as it can just sweep through the whole team.

Match Starts with some shuffling of :Chansey: :Dialga-origin: to Geomancy's :Lucario-mega: :Arceus-Ghost: untill Dialga origin comes in and sets up a layer of spikes on the incoming Primal Kyogre forcing him to teleport into his Mega Lucario, who then reveals to be magic guard and does over 80% to the Kyogre who tried to get a scald Burn and failed. Nothing major happens for a few turns besides Celesteela setting up Stone axe and The Ho-oh Missing Sacred Fire and getting chipped down by Mega Lucario, which can indicate that Lemon's Arceus-Ghost is actually not Fur Coaat but SNR which Geomancy has nothing for, and on Turn 22 he infact does reveal No Retreat, Killing Geomancy's Blissey and Arceus-Ghost before eventually Geomancy resigns on turn 26, making this the shortest battle of the week.

I personally think both players did play alright, but Lemon's team did have the better matchup in hindsight as geomancy also really couldnt deal with the Magic Guard Mega Lucario as it 2HKOed almost every Pokemon on Geomancy's team if it got the predictions correct. as for Records, this makes Lemonstre1 record 1-1 and also gives his team a chance to get into Playoffs, while Geomancy's record becomes 0-1 and this loss pretty much gurantee's the Summerchus will not qualify for Playoffs unless a miracle happens

:spectrier: RightClicker vs Stolen Identity :oshawott:
:Lunala: :Arceus-Ghost: :Ting-Lu: :Palkia-Origin: :Blissey: :Ho-oh: - :Arceus-fairy: :Flutter Mane: :Eternatus: :Greninja-Ash: :Audino-mega: :Celesteela:
Another Interesting Game. On preview Rightclicker seems to be running an Bulky Offense Team, consisting of either SNR Lunala or Arceus Ghost (More Likely Lunala), RegenVest Ting-Lu, the unusual Speed Boost Palkia-Origin, Magic Guard Blissey, and Ice scales Ho-Oh, Meanwhile Stolen Identity is running a team consisting of Fur Coat Arceus-Fairy, Either Fur Coat Celesteela or Regenerator, Normalize Flutter Mane, and Ice Scales Audino-Mega which improofs both Eternatus and Flutter Mane. from the Preview yea lol Stolen Identity has the better matchup since Ash-Greninja can physically 6-0 this team and has defensive backup in Audino-Mega for the Palkia-O and any SNR Pokemon.

Game Begins with Rightclicker setting up the Stone Axe in exchange for Para on his Blissey, which makes Stolen Identity reveal Court Change on Celesteela, making it most probably Prankster, this then Allows Stolen Identity to switch out into his Greninja as Rightclicker goes to get his hazards back up, this then makes Rightclicker switch into Palkia-Origin who not only eats the Surging Strikes too well. it also reveals to be not Speed Boost (while this is later 90% confirmed the Palkia-Origin is indeed Fur Coat as i do have the Paste), causing both of them to do some shuffling untill Flutter Mane reveals Entrainment Normalize like previously thought, but also has Nasty Plot and Taunt which manages to heavily Chip Rightclicker's Arceus-Ghost with Judgment who uses No Retreat.

This Plan however just backfires for Rightclicker as Mega Audino switchs in and manages to Topsy-turvy the Arceus-Ghost, forcing him out and on only 14% HP with entry hazards up. Some shuffling of Blissey and Flutter Mane later, Stolen Identity taunts Rightclicker's previously switched in Lunala who also reveals to SNR, however then Stolen Identity trys to make a prediction of Lunala switching out however it doesnt and manages to deal over 90% of Flutter Mane's hp with Judgment, who then has to switch and the incoming Mega Audino manages to get off the entry hazards on its side with Mortal Spin. Some more turns go by untill Greninja is safely able to come in, Deal over half of Palkia-O's Hp with Wicked Blow, and forces RightClicker into his Ting-Lu.

Nothing major happens for the few 10+ turns besides Rightclicker trying to predict what move Ash-Greninja will use and trying to regain some little HP with Strength Sap on Mega Audino with Palkia-Origin, untill Turn 47 where Ash-Greninja uses Flower Trick on Ting-Lu which only does 45%, revealing it to be Fur Coat, and the Blissey (which was already confirmed but forgot to mention) is RegenVest. More turns of Arceus-Fairy trying to setup and the endless Blissey Palkia-Origin and Ting-Lu shuffling on the Ash-Greninja go by untill the very major turn of 74 where Greninja-A manages to call a Prediction and OHKO the Palkia-Origin, freeing it to use Surging Strikes and clean up the rest of the Game, but only manages to take care of Arceus-Ghost and Lunala before being too low, allowing the Ting-Lu to finish it off, however the ting-lu is too low now and gets KO'ed by the incoming Flutter mane who's holding Pixie Plate instead of Spooky Plate, this MU is pretty much over as Rightclicker cannot do much but he decides to shuffle and get some chip damage with his Blissey for a 100+ turns, finally letting this battle end on turn 208. this makes Stolen Identity be tied for the perfect record in the tour, and the best record for Bh, while Rightclicker gets 3 losses in a row making his overall record 1-3
