Just curious, what set for Landorus-T do you all find more useful/viable in general? Defensive or Double Dance?

To be more specific:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 132 HP / 56 Atk / 216 Def / 104 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
Isn't Rock Slide better for Double Dance Set ? Do you miss a lot of KO ? Does the flinch rate help when you're so fast ?

Rock Slide is irritatingly weak v.s. anything it doesn't hit for SE damage, so honestly I wouldn't recommend it. The power difference from it to Stone Edge is huge (25 BP iirc) and definitely noticable when it doesn't flinch its target.

What is Zygarde's best set to use in this meta? I think it's a very interesting mon that has gotten a bit better with the rise of Sand teams, but I have never used it in OU.

I think Dragon Dance is the best set personally with Life Orb or Lum Berry while running Adamant. Life Orb is normally preferred for sweeping potential but Lum has its uses to dodge burns. Some people hype up Coil set but I personally think it's a crummy set.

Gen 4 move tutor according to Serebii.

As far as replacements, Bisharp always works as a Sucker a Punch user.

I'm trying to fit Hitmontop into my team because he's always been a favourite of mine. I'll have to figure out a replacement move. I guess there's Bullet Punch...

So according to the VR Mega altaria is "bad,"horrible" in the current metagame and mega latias is really good according it to it, yet mega alt is ranked higher than lati( I understand alt might drop but even then they are the same rank and the point still applies). Is this because the VR is heavily exaggerated?

Viability in general is a pretty dynamic term so mons go up and drop depending on how the metagame develop. VR threads are very opinion based and many will disagree with the placements all the time (I disagree with a good amount of the placements but thats just me), the goal of a thread like that is to gather a general opinion that would please "the majority" of the people (sometimes some nominations are extremely controversial, it would take 2 slates for a mon to move up or drop)

Mega Altaria will most likely drop to A- and Mega Latias has a chance to move up to A. Dont worry too much about it, use the mons that you enjoy using the most.

Those statements are usually relative. Like Altaria is "horrible" now, I suppose, but you have to consider at a point it was on the potential suspect list and the top of S rank for quite a few people (last March to May roughly). Mega Latias used to be considered a niche CM win condition and now it has a relatively splashable BoltBeam set seeing huge usage. So even if they end up in say A- together, one will have risen from relative obscurity and the other will have fallen from quite a high peak. Hence the differences in comments about them.

Why is it that Mega Latias is suddenly so popular when it was originally considered a terrible Mega that shouldn't be used unless you have no other Mega?

So a mod directed me here for my question.

So I'm new to competitive battling and there is a weekly local tournament which doesn't allow the use of legendaries. I like the look of hippowden or tyranitar and excadrill as my sand core I'm just unsure of what would work well with them without using legendaries. Just looking for someone to give me a little help. If popping me a pm would be more helpful then feel free thanks in advance.

They are in need of water resists mainly. Filtering the legendaries you could use: rotom-wash, tangrowth, amoonguss, breloom (shaky water switch-in but can dispose of many bulky waters), slowbro, slowking, mega venusaur, mega altaria. Psychic types like alakazam (mega as well) work on sand. Mons that can resist grass or threaten opposing grass types like zard-X pair well with the sand core to overwhelm their most common check, landorus-therian.

First time posting on this specific thread but it seems like a good place to ask:

If you could add to or change Typhlosion to make it competitively viable, what would you do?

Was just thinking about it because it used to be one of my favorite Pokemon, but I never use it because its pretty shit. :/

This isn't the place to discuss that either.

What is the current status of weather (rain / sun / hail) teams in the tier? Are they growing in popularity or viability?
