I've never tried it myself, but I know that rain teams sometimes run Damp Rock Deoxys-S as a suicide lead. It learns Sunny Day as well, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for a Sun team as well. You even get the benefit of wiping out Ferrothorn if you see one.SoulRed12 said:Okay, so say someone put a gun to your head and forced you to run a manual sun team (i.e., no drought) in OU. Who would set up the sun for you?
Minor thing that kinda comes to mind.
Does Memento count as one stat drop, or two (one for Attack, one for Special Attack)?
Main reason I think this is because of how it would trigger Defiant. Say I switch in Bisharp on Memento. Does he just end up at 0 Attack -2 SpA (one drop) or at +2 Att -2 Sp.A (two separate drops)?
No, what I mean is, do the Attack and SpA drops count independently, or as a single drop?It lowers it by two stages, so if you used it on Defiant Bisharp, he'd end up with only -2 SpA.
It counts as one individual stat drop (albeit a large one), so as he said, the Bisharp would end up at +0 Atk and -2 SpA.No, what I mean is, do the Attack and SpA drops count independently, or as a single drop?
Ex: Att -2 (Memento), Att +2 (Defiant) = 0 Att.
then
SpA -2 (Memento's 2nd drop), Att +2 (Defiant again) = +2 Att, -2 SpA.
Essentially, if it's counted as two separate (An Attack Drop and a Special Attack Drop), or just a singular "Memento" drop to both stats. In the former case, Bisharp would end up at +2 Attack, since with two drops, the first cancels the Attack drop, then the Sp. Attack drop triggers Defiant again and raises him to +2.
Would limit some Memento users' options in trying to grab momentum much more in that case.
This thread provides some useful tips for Xerneas and Yveltal: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/the-are-my-pokémon-ivs-and-nature-good-thread.3490330/. Most of the advice also applies to Zygarde and Mewtwo as well, but it will still take some time.Jobes said:Are there any methods that are taken to make soft resetting for legendaries easier or more efficient this gen? Is Psyshock affected by Light Screen or Reflect?
Yes it does,
Yes it does,
No, I mean which affects it, if Reflect is up but not Light Screen is Psyshock's damages reduced or not?
I think he was asking which one it was effected by. I want to say Light Screen, but in all honestly I'm not too sure. A quick Bulbepidia search would probably help
All of Skarmory's sets in its analysis don't have any speed EVs. The only reason I can think of for the number 24 is that it allows Skarmory to outspeed max speed Wobbuffet, which is pretty rare and not that good. So unless you are really paranoid of being Encored and Tickled to death, investing the EVs in defense is always a better choice. For some reason Showdown's team builder always recommends 24 speed EVs on physically defensive Skarmory. Is there any point to that or can I just move it all into defense?
Bulbapedia is often wrong, I don't trust it very much. It says Light Screen effects it, not Reflect, but I don't believe it entirely, can anyone confirm?
Fair enough. Moving those EVs to defense. All of Skarmory's sets in its analysis don't have any speed EVs. Another question: Is there a realistic way to increase my GXE rating after over 100 battles logged? Or is it the type of stat that settles in after lots of battles? I've been looking into the stats for the COIL rating and I see it's based on GXE and number of battles, but with the high suspect test requirement this time around, according to google's calculator I'll (literally) never be able to log enough battles to make reqs unless I can also increase my GXE. Here's my stats so far:
I finally got a good team so I expect to have more wins as I continue to ladder. So is there any hope or should I just make an alt now that I have a pretty good team?Code:Elo GXE Glicko-1 COIL W L T oususpecttest 1283 58 1560 ± 33 2102 67 56 1
Hm, guess no CM set then. I think Latios can pull it off better with his special attack and speed anyway (I have 2 Latios, standard offensive Tricker and one I can use for CM).
Is the Draco/HP Fire/Healing Wish/Defog set one something a Calm one uses?
Also, is Dual Screens/Memento Latios any good? Seems like it can really cripple the opponent and let something set up.
