Why is Blissey better than Chansey in Ubers?
And what is a good replacement for Skarmory in OU?
Blissey can run Shed Shell to avoid being trapped by Mega Gengar.

Skarmory doesn't have a direct replacement as it can set Stealth Rocks, Roost and provide Defog support (Gliscor has to sacrifice Poison Heal to run Defog, making it a lot less viable), but in terms of a physically defensive defog user, Mandibuzz is probably the closest equivalent - it lacks Stealth Rock, and has a greater number of weaknesses, but in return, it has Overcoat, useful Dark + Ghost resistances, and Foul Play, (as well as Knock Off).

Off the top of my head, Azumarill....
Volcarona....

Breloom.........

thunderstone truth be told, you're better off using a Mega as a set up sweeper. I mean besides BU/SD Talonflame (Which is MILES better than... Fucking Banded) and the previously mentioned Azumarill and Breloom (To an extent), there aren't many set up sweepers in OU that meet your criteria. I mean if any of these take your fancy, feel fre to. Use them, but Mega Mawile is still one of the best sweepers in OU along with MegaCham, MegaZardX and.... Err..... Mega Pinsir!

I wouldn't say Banded is horrible, it provides immediate power and Talonflame is hard-pressed to set up sometimes, Choice Band Talonflame is really good, don't underestimate it.

I had this silly idea to run a Sub-punch Charizard. Now keep in mind that I've always enjoyed making odd sets for Pokemon so something dumb like this is nothing new to me. Here's what I had in mind.

Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Shadow Claw
- Dragon Claw/Roost

My question is, would this actually work? I'll probably try it regardless of what people say but I just wanted to share it.

Wherever could I discuss the new megas? #pokemon, despite its misleading name, is actually the ssb and mario kart 8 channel. Do not suggest this imposter chat room.

Well here is a link to the Smogon forum for the new upcoming games, not sure if you would be able to talk about the megas though, and in that case you can try the Meteor Falls chatroom on the Pokemon Showdown! simulator.

What's a good Defensive Sableye spread? Can anyone give me some good examples/spreads?

A defensive spread with 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef and Impish Nature is good, as The Lonely Alula mentioned. However, Sableye can also run a specially defensive spread with 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def with a Calm Nature. The specially defensive spread allows it to beat many special attackers, while being able to face most physical attackers thanks to priority Will-o-wisp.

SubPunch MegaCharizard-X could work, (I would use Dragon Claw over Shadow Claw for STAB.), but I think Charizard has better sets to run. This is because the most common Pokemon that are hit super-effectively by Focus Punch (Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, Excadrill, Heatran) can be taken care of use by using a combination of Flare Blitz and Earthquake.

I don't know if your idea would work or not, but Dragon Claw or Flare Blitz/Fire Punch should be used in the third slot since they deal more damage than a super-effective Shadow Claw. Also, the set should probably have 248 HP or something similar, to be bulkier (probably avoid some 3HKOs and 4HKOs) and to minimize damage from Substitute and Stealth Rock, which would wear you down otherwise. So the set should probably look like:
Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 8 Spd / 252 Atk / 248 HP
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Dragon Claw/Fire Punch/Flare Blitz
- Roost/Dragon Claw

(just saying if you use Flare Blitz always use Roost)

I have a few questions. Is the generally best moveset for Heatran Lava Plume - Taunt/Roar/Stealth Rock - Toxic/Will-O-Wisp or Lava Plume - Stealth Rock/Protect - Roar - Toxic and why? I ask because the analysis has the former, while the good cores thread has the latter (and because I prefer the latter).

My other question is: when the game calculates moves that get more than one power boost (get two or more of STAB, a power-boosting item boost, a power-boosting ability boost), does it calculate them like (using a base 80 move with STAB and boosted by a Life Orb as an example): 80 x 1.5 x 1.3 or 80 + 80 x 0.5 + 80 x 0.3?

It's not the dumbest thing I've seen and may be able to work because of the surprise factor. If you want to run a Sub-punch set, I'd recommend Fire Punch and Roost as the other two moves. Fire Punch gives you a way of hitting Aegislash and Fairies hard and Roost prevents Zard from getting worn down by SR and Substitute. But yeah, try it and see if it works because it might have some potential.

Can someone list some ways to deal with Rotom-W that would go well on a sand team? (They don't necessarily have to be immune to the sand.) I feel like everything that resists its STABs either hates getting burned (e.g., Ferrothorn, or Mega Venusaur...who would suck on a sand team anyway with a nerfed synthesis), or hates getting tricked a choice item (e.g., Chansey).

You could try Gastrodon which is immume to Sandstorm, takes anything from Rotom Wash and only fears Trick. Latias can also be a good option.

I've got a really quick team question, I do not feel that my team is quite good enough for a full RMT yet so I figured this is a good spot for it. Can any of you see an obvious alternative pokemon to what I am running right now, the biggest problem I have run into is sticky web as it derails my ScarfChomp and Greninja. I am open to any and all suggestions as to pokemon that this team does not check and any pokes that I should switch out for my current ones. Thanks!!!

All out attacker Greninja - #1 Win condition, sweep end game when other team is weakened.
Assault Vest Conkledurr - Great teammate to Greninja, knock off and mach punch are great in this metagame
Scarf Garchomp - #2 win condition and my favorite revenge killer, better than scarf terrakion
Defensive core of Mega Venusaur and sp def Heatran
Cleric Slyveon - passes wishes to teammates, I feel this is my leas important pokemon and I feel I could be using a more effective pokemon in this spot.

Thanks for any tips or advice you guys have, I am very open to criticism or any changes!!!

mold breaker excadrill can catch it on the switch

So, I got back to PS again after a few weeks break (even though I'm on the forums) and I noticed that people from ranks around 1000 - 1600 has a trend to run defense-boosting moves (like Cosmic Power, Stockpile, Amnesia, Iron Defense). Some of them don't even run Stored Power. Am I missing something besides the fact that this might be due to the spotlight on Baton Pass teams? Also, what happened to good old-styled Swords Dance / Nasty Plot / Dragon Dance / Quiver Dance which boosts offense? (Perhaps this is due to my current low rank but I only see these once in 10 games as opposed to all the time previously)

Looking at the team, I think what you need most is a spinner/defogger. This would alleviate your issue with Sticky Web and help keep rocks off your field to help reduce Greninja's chance of being revenged killed. You could probably drop Sylveon for a defogger since M-Venusaur and Conkeldurr can both heal themselves. I'd recommend Latias or Latios since they resist most of Greninja's weaknesses, can carry Psyshock to help deal with special walls if needed and give a nice switch-in to any predicted ground attacks.
