Here to complete the larpcord trifecta, I am here to share one of my absolute favourite teams. This team was made by me, with the invaluable help of stardust, imperialH and tested by me in various tours and friendlies. Mixnite helped me refine it. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.


This guy is an absolute unit. He has an insane ability, along with access to taunt and sub which make it an invaluable stall breaker and threat to offense due to dragon dance. Its natural typing is also good. I use taunt here to deny rocks and break stall. I often use it late game if its threats are dead or with cresselia if it has a really good MU.

Such a dishonest pokemon, and such an absolute goat. Sometimes, one quiver dance is all it takes and the match is over. I utilise a life orb quiver dance set to break past mostly everything alongside giga drain to regain health. You can alternate b/w life orb, and lum berry, and giga drain/hpground/bug buzz. However, you need to keep rocks off.


This is one of the best pokemon gamefreak ever made. This guy gets insane utility moves, ranging from screens to glare to taunt to leech seed to sub to knock off, all of which I have tried. I prefer a screens set/lum taunt set.


The Kevin De Bruyne of this team. The absolute goat. The guy who always takes one for the team. Lunar dance is invaluable and helps you turn the tides in a game. Thunder wave is sometimes crucial, and it helps our team NOT lose to m-lopunny. You can alternate b/w scarf and helmet sets.


Mr Consistent. Mr RoleCompression. There are many names you can give this lad but its never enough. Rapid spin and stealth rock support alongside clefable answer makes excadrill invaluable for this team.


The Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. Prankster thunder wave, hpice, volt switch and focus blast coverage alongside an insane speed tier providing insane anti offense potential. This guy is HIM and really fun to use as well.

I started mons with a Scarf Serperior team back in my hometown, SM OU ladder. When I transitioned to ORAS OU, I couldn’t find a single Scarf Serperior team that I liked. So I decided to build one myself, but i couldn't get any lead so i had to call up my sensei Avendesora for guidance and his spice was excatly what this team needed.

This team revolves around bulky Mega Gallade and scarf Serperior, a set not commonly used in this metagame. Scarf Serperior is a very potent cleaner in the late game thanks to its massive speed, outspeeding basically everything in the metagame. Mega Gallade is a really nice partner to it, as it really likes pokémons like Tornadus-Therian being paralyzed. Seismitoad is the ground type of choice, as it is very good into most electric types, which give both Serperior and Gallade a bit of trouble, especially Zapdos. Clefable is the physical defensive pokemon on the team, coming in on threats like Mega Lopunny and to a lesser extent Mega Medicham. Victini is here for the Volcarona matchup, as well as a secondary answer to Medicham if need be. Last but not least, Zapdos is the hazard removal of choice for the team, as it offers both momentum and a ground immunity to the team.

I haven't done ALOT of testing with the team so any suggestions or stuff like this is appreciated and huge s/o to BluBirD for the victini and the final patching the team needed!

Hello oras people i'm BluBirD, some of you might know me for some whack ass teams and spreads, others might know me because...actually yeah it's just because of the shit i make from time to time.

Here's a team i spent a lot of time on which to some might feel like it really shouldn't take a lot of time to make ngl, it started out with different sets and spreads, other megas and some other additions that came but didn't last.



So here's the idea behind this thing, absurd chaos and mons that shouldn't live hits but they do. It's my trademark style by now and it's kinda funny to think about mons like crawdaunt actually taking advantage of their typing defensively and it's even funnier when people are actually surprised that i'm attempting it, anyway.
The core idea is for these 3 overwhelming physical breakers/sweepers(see how it's interchangeable due to their now new found staying power)
to break for each other until one of them just suffice in the end game with the support provided.
Just a small backstory this team was originally a mega diancie/volcarona team which ended up going to the mega hera route due to it's ability to just humiliate hp rock serp which at the time this team was made was the premier set in comparison to hp fire.
Here's a quick rundown of what each mons runs and why:

Lefties DD ice/superpower dnite is a clown but it matches up well into the lando teams that are getting more and more common by the day and it absolutely obliterates most sand offenses single handedly, it gives us back up checks to stuff like volcarona/serperior/keldeo as we know, a speed booster and appreciates the wallbreaking ability of heracross + crawdaunt vs clefable cores(also gives me a decent offensive check to zard-y which idt i need to explain why we need it here)

Cresselia (F) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 244 HP / 96 Def / 40 SpA / 108 SpD / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Trick Room
- Lunar Dance
- Thunder Wave

As sharp readers might have noticed, this team is quite slow and lacking of a decent tank to just soft check half the tier for 1-2 turns...enter cresselia.
Decided to go with Bold here which is appreciated for the help vs medi/lop/gallade/sd chomp/ddnite and metagross which is quite important and so on, some spdef to help vs keldeo/zard-y/diancie/np thund and there's speed to creep ada max crawdaunt letting it function as a pokemon for that 1 turn before it gets sent to the shadow realm(speed also comes in handy vs some mega venusaurs who aim for a similar benchmark) standard moveset through and through but instead of moonlight i decided to opt for a far more aggressive option in Trick Room to support the slow speed tiers the team runs in and open up heracross and crawdaunt end games more reliably while also providing excadrill with spin/rocks opportunities if we're in dire need of them.

Huge shoutout to my guy @Amir(o right, he's still banned for some reason) who gave me the original idea for this abomination.
Assault vest mega heracross as mixnite likes to call it, needs no introduction really, i would post a wall of calcs to prove of how useful it really is but i think just this one will suffice here:
252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Psychic vs. 232 HP / 216+ SpD Heracross-Mega: 264-312 (73.5 - 86.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock.

This guy means business, trades 1v1 with half the tier and gives u some unfair advantages in some matchups vs fatter teams but is no slouch vs offense either considering that u have to take it down twice if u consider that cresselia's trick room + lunar dance wombo combo is mainly there for heracross, you can lead it vs like diancie, trade 1v1 and then lunar dance it back to devour the rest of the team.

EVs: 128 HP / 204 Def / 24 SpD / 152 Spe

Good ol' standard drill but with a shuca berry because it helps us trade with other excadrill and diancie to open up the team more reliably(especially helpful vs sand) it's impish this time around to help out more vs weavile, metagross and outraging kyurem-black cause jesus that guy is annoying, speed is for offensive mega scizor.

Crawdaunt @ Lum Berry
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 140 HP / 156 Atk / 4 Def / 24 SpD / 184 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off
- Aqua Jet

Here comes the controversy, this guy scares all the boomers away with 168 evs invested in its bulk!!!
Jokes aside, i managed to make a decent spread here to help me avoid 2hko's from weavile's ice crash, check bisharp more "reliably" and also give me good chances to play vs volcanion(scarf steam eruption does not 2hko and lum helps me avoid burns)
If u managed to get this guy in vs slowbro in a 1v1, good job you got a kill(or in some cases vs certain teams, 6 kills)
Jet comes in handy vs volcarona and random targets u wanna pick off(diancie/drill come to mind once again).

Thundurus (M) @ Magnet
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 64 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 88 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Last but certainly not least, here's the big enabler!
This guy here just gives Crawdaunt/Heracross free entry vs virtually everything like hippo, excadrill, gastro, seismitoad, ferrothorn and more, momentum is extremely important for this team and u can't afford to let it go with volt vs grounds here, twave to check half the tier, magnet thunderbolt helps the mu into manaphy, smacks clef for decent damage and basically makes up for the lack of excessive offensive investment here, spread lets u take a mega alakazam psychic after rocks.
This team can be tweaked and changed and formed to anyone's liking, set and spread wise so please go crazy if u feel like this version is not for you!

Yeah this the one, i'm usually reluctant to post "big" posts like this but i felt like forcing myself to do something "productive" for the community to break the monotonous cycle that has been running amok on my life lately.
This might sound silly coming for this kind of team and setting but i have found in mons something i haven't managed to find anywhere else in my life so far, artistic expression.
Some may laugh at this or dismiss it because the team looks bad to their eyes or because they think that it's really not that serious and i'm going over-sentimental here but i really don't give a shit anymore.
Be kind, express yourself and find things in your life that make you happy and complete, even if it's something as unimportant as building pokemon teams. Be constructive and curious and don't let negative people and situations keep you down.

I'm here to bring you some good news. I've built a team that I believe has real potential. I've tested it in games against my friend RealNGR, and overall, it's performed well and offers a creative, refreshing take on offense in the current meta.

As we all know, Mega Alakazam's fourth move slot can be anything: Encore, Taunt, Calm Mind, Hidden Power Ice, Hidden Power Fire, and so on. However, very few people use Future Sight on Mega Alakazam. I believe this is the perfect opportunity to build around Future Sight Mega Alakazam.



The idea is Future Sight Mega Alakazam paired with Scarf Kyurem-Black, originally suggested by Sna. Initially, I thought it was a bad concept because I couldn’t see how Future Sight would benefit Kyurem-Black. However, after some thought, I’ve come to realize that Future Sight on Mega Alakazam is actually quite powerful. Alakazam forces so many switches that it often gets Future Sight off for free. Still, Kyurem-Black isn’t the best Future Sight partner in theory, as a Fighting-type like Keldeo is generally a better option. Keldeo can check Dark-types and also benefits from Alakazam's ability to handle Poison-types.

With this in mind, I decided to add Keldeo to the team, as it pairs really well with Mega Alakazam. Keldeo also appreciates Kyurem-Black’s ability to check Grass-types and Flying-types. Furthermore, Keldeo is helpful because it pressures bulky Water-types, enabling Kyurem-Black to clean up in the late game.

The fourth and fifth members are a tried and true core: Tyranitar and Excadrill. Tyranitar provides Pursuit support, which is useful for trapping Psychic-types or any wall, and also sets up sand to help with revenge killing. Excadrill is added because it offers hazard removal, Stealth Rock, speed control, and provides both Steel- and Ground-type coverage.

The final member is Zapdos, rounding out the team with a solid Flying-type. Zapdos helps check threats like Mega Lopunny, Mega Gyarados, Mega Scizor, and Serperior, while also providing Volt Switch to maintain momentum.

Today has been a very slow day at work, so I decided to build a team to pass the time.

As we all know, Serperior is one of the scariest Pokémon to face for offensive teams because of its speed tier, Glare, boosted Leaf Storm, and Hidden Power coverage. However, there’s one mon in the tier that can wall Serperior for days thanks to its ability, Sap Sipper. That mon is Goodra. However, very few people use Goodra. I felt this was the perfect opportunity to build a new Goodra team.



The idea is Goodra + 2 Waters. This combination covers each other’s weaknesses extremely well. I picked Keldeo as the first Water because it’s one of the best defensive Water-types, capable of checking Bisharp and Tyranitar. I’m running the Choice Specs set because I like being able to click extremely powerful moves right off the bat. The second Water is Manaphy, because Manaphy and Keldeo share similar checks, making them a very compelling core, especially when we already have Goodra to wall Serperior.

The Mega slot could be filled by many options, but I really like Mega Metagross here because our team greatly benefits from having a Steel-type. I’m using the Power-Up Punch set because I feel it’s the best Metagross set at the moment.

The fifth Pokémon is Landorus-T, because I need a Flying-type, a Ground-type, a Stealth Rocker, a Mega Charizard X check, and a Mega Lopunny check. Landorus covers all of that perfectly.

Finally, the last teammate is Latias, which provides hazard removal and Healing Wish support.

During a Beat Up discussion in the ORAS Discord, I wondered if there existed Beat Up users other than Weavile. I stumbled upon Ambipom, which uniquely possesses Technician in conjunction with Beat Up. Thus, the Amazing Ambipom was born. CB Ambipom's Beat Up stings even before Heracross mega-evolves. You can lead with it and can potentially trade, chip with Technician-boosted STAB Fake Out, or pivot with U-Turn. Mega-Heracross with BluBirD's SpD spread can trade with strong special attackers sometimes, and provides the largest boost to Beat Up's power. The other 4 Pokemon compose the classic core that most Beat Up structures use. Scarf Excadrill in particular seems to be a pretty underrated Pokemon and significantly pressures Mega-Metagross offenses, which can easily tear through most Beat Up structures due to usually having more speedier Pokemon.

I had a lot of fun laddering with this team, so I thought it would be fun to share, even if the surprise factor winds up being lost. It's got a fair bit of tough matchups, but sometimes that's just how it goes when you decide to use Ambipom. Enjoy!

ORASPL was fun. Unfortunately, I still have not yet learned what the counterplay to getting crit on the last turn is. But fate is something that we must always be content with. Thanks to Alpha1013, Ithi, and asa for drafting me and giving me a chance to play!

I'm just too busy (read: lazy) to pump out teams each week since there's usually always something wrong with them. But I did want to share the teams that were built for this tour and got some time to shine. They can sometimes be good.

ORASPL V Week 1 - vs Destro16


I can be pretty big-brained sometimes. I was reflecting on ways to guarantee progress with Pokemon like Serperior and Keldeo. These two love Pursuit support, but sometimes it can be difficult to maneuver your way into positions where you can actually permanently remove the main threats. Think of "slippery" Pokemon like Thundurus and Tornadus-T, or something that can potentially blow past your standard Dark-type trapper like Mega-Alakazam. You can sometimes run the risk of either not being able to safely get off a Pursuit, or your Pursuit not KOing and then potentially giving them opportunities to heal or annoy later on. One idea I wanted to try was the combination of Pursuit Mega-Metagross + Eject Button Cresselia; the idea is to smash something like Torn-T with e.g. a Specs Scald and then immediately pivot to Cresselia. Since U-Turn will be stopped by the Eject Button, you can safely go into Mega-Metagross and get the trap off. With SR up, you can guarantee a KO on the Torn-T, allowing your other Pokemon to run wild. The same principle applies vs something like Mega-Alakazam. Cresselia also now takes less from Knock Off, and can still heal something back up to full. Long explanation for a simple trick, but it worked out well during testing. Mental Herb Exca is a fun way to get a fighting chance vs some HO teams. You have to finish up games as fast as possible with this team and are sometimes really dependent on Scald burns, but it's got a fair few matchups where it can put in work.

ORASPL V Week 4 - vs Seasons


I didn't really know what I wanted to bring vs my fellow boomer-buddy Seasons. I realized that I rarely ever bring Sand, so I set out to build something fun. I really liked the idea of RestTalk Keldeo + NP RH Celebi to stuff out certain threats for long enough to get something going with the main Sand superstars. Technically, Pursuit Mega-Tyranitar synergizes much better with Celebi, for the sole reason that you can potentially trap Tornadus-T (and with the correct EV spread, perhaps Mega-Alakazam as well). Otherwise you just get trapped in the U-Turn vortex with few ways to make progress. I experimented with utility sets with SR / U-Turn / Thunder Wave, and those are pretty nice as well, but likely work best with a different set of Pokemon in the other slots. I settled on dual-wincons since I think DD Mega-Tyranitar is super good right now. Fire Punch > EQ is a nice option on this team as well. Not perfect, but the team worked out well in the game!

I wanted to build something with Specs Kyurem because I was confident I'd see something fat. I was correct. It didn't matter. This team feels rather generic to me and doesn't possess a lot of longevity; it's also pretty weak to common offensive threats like Keldeo, Volcanion, and Weavile. I think that could probably be fixed with some corrected sets and spreads. Despite all this, I think this team is pretty nice into certain fat structures that either focus on type-synergy between Pokemon or rely on 1 or 2 Pokemon like Mega-Alakazam to not be left too passive.

Not the best results this year, but I had a good time regardless. I hope people can have the same fun as I had with these teams!

when i started playing this tier again, since latios became bad and latias usually just runs ice beam and draco as its only attacks, i was having a really hard time beating subcm keld. so i built a sand around it that tries to get keld multiple options in the mid game. the tar and exca aren’t unchangeable sets but fit what this team wants pretty well, superpower is usually an impactful move when clicked. spdef zap for serp and just getting momentum with volt. i tried tornt over zap and didn’t really like it. zap is also kinda there for metagross. serp for speed and helping chip zap and other stuff (spreading para is so good for keld too) and this mew is actually really great early game (as long as you don’t load into stall). wanted something to switch into physical guys and just be annoying early game - a lot of mons like clef can do fine into wisp mew but hate being twaved, especially when its subcm keld’s time. also good enough vs a lot of metagross sets. it can be a slowbro i guess but i recommend trying this mew out, it’s fun. it’s really awkward to go up against early game. twave is almost better than wisp so you can toss knock or something there if you want but wisp is great for drill and tar.

this team is so fun. i built this rotom on another team as kind of a troll set that tries to randomly win the game and wall non cm clef. it’s really only in practice walled by grass types which aren’t even that good or random guys that get lucky with charge beam / pump like cm clef or whatever. zone to trap guys for this Rotom and sd venu / chomp and also to make sure u don’t lose to skarm and ferro clicking spikes immediately. this venu set is so annoying if it body slam paras something not expecting it. av bish to pursuit trap lati, be a buffer into clef, click sucker, etc. this team is quite good surprisingly but as currently constructed is actually completely 6-0ed by sd gliscor. so I recommend being fast rotom and/or growth venu instead. i don’t think the spdef invest or sd body slam is necessary enough to run this team as pasted if you think you will fight gliscor. just tweak it

probably my fav team here. seen some fat dnites in future gens and wanted to give it a try. this set is old but a lot of people going up against this team will think you’re band as a breaker if you double it in without taking rocks. that will allow you to get super ahead if they switch into a mon that lets the dnite snowball. sd rocks facade gliscor is something everyone that ive shown it thinks sucks, then they message me in 3-7 days and changes their mind. it’s basically a super demon early game while the opponent doesn’t know what it is. you can switch into exca, rocks and then start randomly threatening mons. just such a good to to have early, mid and late game. sd exca does 1v1 you but they will probably not be that set and realize it before its too late, and that’s really the only removal with longevity to worry about a lot of the time with this set. zone kind of a necessity for these goofy wincons that are owned by skarm and scarf is for speed. cm ice clef isn’t the funnest to fight with this team so perhaps you can change the venu set, but knock is good. also u gotta lock the fuck in when you fight medicham but even if a big chunk of a game goes wrong, this dnite set actually bailed me out a shocking amount of times.

even if you think im bad and this team is bad try out the gliscor and dnite sets, the gliscor is more early game and dnite more mid late and they don’t need to be together at all but the surprise and efficiency factor of these sets makes me recommend them to a lot of people.

this team actually looks stupid and unviable but plays much better than you’d expect. i like unwallable mons and zardy is one of them but I think traditional / historically zardy structures are actually so ass to play when you’re behind and are poor are reclaiming momentum. this is why i wanted torn and rotom. i also wanted something that tries to win the hazard war against grounds and donphan does it well. rachi is there to not lose to lop and clef type mons and give a second lifespan to these mons that all have bad longevity except torn. weav and zardy are more dynamic than zardy + tar in this meta imo. cane in sun is obviously unusable so that’s why tornt is sp (also to smack tran and tar)

the least tested of these teams by far, but it’s really fun and engaging to use. i went up against BluBirD on ladder and he had a team that was like no bulk av iron head kyub/cm ice clef/spdef rocks roar tran/ada fake qa lop/colbur twave timid starmie/scarf rocks landot and it basically didn’t lose to HO ever and was good enough vs other archetypes. i really liked using kyub+lop but wished kyub had more power sometimes, the team basically used it as a trade mon vs special attackers with starmie to spin. so i made this team with both of them. the novelty of band kyub and scarf rotom can really fuck people up. chansey is there to up, wall shit and hwish but i often don’t click hwish unless im up against fat. band kyub + hwish against stall is a real demon. colbur bro and physdef exca for weav mostly.

ok i was against gengar on ladder and then i realized nothing in the tier actually switches into specs so you just have to get every turn its in right pretty much. then i thought that a sub set that doesnt reveal black sludge could be really good at bluffing and getting ahead. it is actually and is the best part of this team. you can experiment with non lefties item but spooky plate hex is ridiculous against a statused opponent. this team is a bit mid and not particularly easy to use i just like the gengar and mega bro set. mega bro really underrated too its extremely bulky and very strong when it mega evolves. also ive used spdef zapdos instead of tornt

surprised i didnt post any mega zam teams, unwallable mon that isn’t banned cuz it can miss focus blast. also mega absol is legit either on ho with sd iron tail or as a pursuit magic bounce guy on weird fat

I just wanted to post the few teams that I had fun building and playing with since they are taking dust in my builder now:

This team started as an adaptation of an idea from DIYUSI while he was testing Empoleon in SM, drawing inspiration from ORAS structures, and it eventually became one of my favorite teams in the tier which is a funny full circle moment. Empoleon really clicked with me, as I think Defog users are still somewhat underexplored in the tier (though less so recently) and offer certain advantages over Rapid Spin. Empoleon brings a strong mix of offensive and defensive qualities: a solid typing, a useful ability in Torrent that enables significant damage output, and a versatile movepool with plenty of support options, all while avoiding being overly passive against common Stealth Rock setters. I don't like shuca on it, since sitrus allows for more longetivity against the whole tier while you can still eat eq from exca with invests in defense.
The team is simple and rely on making the most out of Multiscale band Dragonite supported by Defog Empoleon and Lunar Dance Cresselia allowing it to come back in the game and fire those powerful outrage or clean with extreme speed. Both of the dragons open up Metagross or Serperior for a sweep while in return they fix some of the team's issues with respectively another priority to face Weavile and the ever broken Glare along the coba berry to flip mus like talonflame.
The second version plays exactly the same, with the main difference being the inclusion of Breloom, which helps the team apply pressure much earlier compared to Serperior, which I sometimes found too slow and relegated to little more than a Glare bot. Breloom also improves the heatran mu a little since Dragonite forgoes Earthquake in favor of an unexpected Iron Head to deal with Unaware Clefable. Here I decided to bring something that I really enjoy in SMOU, future sight cresselia. It goes perfectly well with breloom since you get clean 2HKOs on most answers like Mega Venusaur, Tornadus and Clefable. These Pokemon are forced to go on Steel or Dark-types who don't enjoy taking hits from breloom or Fsight turn after turn. It does make the team a bit worst into keldeo but sometimes it is worth the trade. I also feel like losing twave is not that dramatic with all the priorities that we have.

This team is older than the previous one but follows the same concept with scizor as the Defog user that opens hazard weak threats. Scizor works impressively well with Volcarona and Gyarados since they feed into each other, worning out Fire, Steel and Grass-types which in term frees Metagross for a Sweep. Here Garchomp trades the yache berry that helped into Thundurus and Zapdos for the Draco plate to improve the immediate breaking capability of the team (the calcs are pretty good and contrary to life orb you hide your boosting item which leads into calc errors from the opponent). I hesitated a while on the scizor set but decided to remove roost over swords dance as scizor was sometimes too passives and so gave free turns to clefs or laties. The mega stone is mainly activated on Metagross but it is pretty useful on scizor since it makes switching into weavile easier (it can also save you in some situation where you need to clean asap-scizor with sd is more immediate than meta-or you need a boost in bulk or attack to win and you did not mega with meta already (or meta was one shot by a crit on a switch smh)).

I really enjoy how you can mix weathers in this gen and cress support in sun sand seemed like a fun idea which ended up not being terrible. I pushed the idea to the maximum with growth regular venusaur as a cleaner after the rest removed or weakened its checks. Taunt Knock-Off Thundurus to prevent hazards and remove leftovers, eviolite or assault vest felt good here. Forgoing twave was not a huge problem since I already got it on cress. Eject cress was also a good way to reset weather and bring charizard. I wanted ttar to be band to add a bit more power to the team but opposing thundurus were very annoying, as well as gengar since both of them never miss focus blast lol. So I settled on chople :/. The team obviously has problems, mainly into fat since you need stupid consecutive lines to win or into trade offense since the core is a bit frail and weak, still fun nonetheless.

This was first a stupid idea for an sm team that used aerodactyl as speed control that could profit from the spedef boost from the sand (s/o CM Reuniclus for the idea). It ended up being a bit too much in smou but the pace seemed much better for oras so I went with it. It is fairly standard in its concept with Hippowdon, Cofagrigus and Ferrothorn placing respectively Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes and Spikes. All of this paired with spikes immune mons like Clefable and Hydreigon to last in longevity. Even tho Aerodactyl is weak upon entry on Stealth Rock, it is very good for those slow structure to soft check Volcarona mainly and has a heal move (:3). Clefable's set, s/o Proftreez, has to be the most annoying set ever, flipping endgames against offense while hazards are up but also winning vs most cm clef endgame (you can add a bit more speed if you want to be safe). Hydreigon adds a fire resist for mons like heatran but also a way to pressure fat psychics that are annoying and great coverage into steels. It also adds some flaws to the team (mainly keldeo, that is why ferro is chople even though we have a cofa already) but honestly I did not want to go for boring rotom in there.

So many teams just cheat their way and force their structures to just have obese stats mons without having proper resist profile. I just wanted to troll and prove a point that chansey as the water and fire resist is stupid. But...it ended up backfiring since, even though the team has flaws, scizor chansey cofa checks a huge part of the tier already. I mainly love scizor in end games and how it helps chansey and cofa face weavile, ttar, bisharp ect...I went with a fast spread to cheat my way into magma heatran that have mainly slow spreads (fast lava plumes are not scary since chansey can trade). Pair all of those lipids with another one that can heal them can be a nightmare when you are on a timer because of toxic spikes. Tornadus adds a bit more speed, cancerous regeneration and a nice glue in general. You can see how the team is a huge fish since a lot of things look threatening for it (hazard stack, status ect...), but it is for this reason it is so stupid lol.

Speaking of Heatran, I think stall breaker Heatran is an immense threat in oras and don't really understand why people don't play it more. I see a lot of lava plumes (which is great if you get the burn) but the trapping and raw power of magma storm is so tempting. I ended up using it on sun with a modest Heatran to blow up those ass lopunny fat which were the rage when I built this. Solar beam improves the gastrodon mu but also can catch keldeo, rotom and the rising seismitoad. The rest is fairly classic with Band ttar sand, balloon exca and some paralysis spreading mons like thundy or slowbro to open heatran even more. Overall the team is pretty threatening and just effective.

It is the oldest team here. I just wanted to play some balanced sand that give me some neutral mus all around. It is also fairly classic but with some twists for the period it was made in eject button Slowbro and sub sd Excadrill. Pressure Zapdos is Defog here as I wanted Excadrill to free a slot for sub to have an easier time into cofagrigus and venusaur. Scarf Kyurem Black is very good in the setting since it weakens a lot of sand checks and acts as a powerful breaker as well thanks to Teravolt. The regular Kyurem version is a bit more mu dependent, but you can fire very strong dracometeor and ice beam on ferrothorn which is nice. Nothing else to say, I feel like this team has made its time but is still effective enough.

Another old team that rely on double water and double ground core. It is just an offense farming bot since I can trade most of the time. Just be careful into bisharp because of double intimidate. Stacking both Keldeo and Volcanion is pretty good honestly since they will both weaken their mutual checks and punish hard counters of each others. Explosion on Volcanion is a very nice option to catch a check leaving it enable to check the other water type as the game progresses. Manectric is a very nice combo with both water types since it shreds BO with like exca+ferro, ferro+slowbro. Toxic on excadrill to help into regen mons or zapdos. Scarf Stealth Rock Landorus is some bs but honestly I feel like it is very good since I only need 3 slot on landorus anyway and throw off people when I reveal the scarf. The team feels a bit weak at times with only cm Keldeo as set up but I play it a lot when I tilt, it is pretty consistent and stacking burn chances is so cancerous lol. I feel like the spread of Volcanion could be more offensive since I am not that weak to keldeo, serp or opposing volcanion, with more attack ect but honestly I am a bit lazy :) .

It's been a hot minute since I've dropped any teams in here, let's change that.

I've got three cool teams I've been fucking around w/ on ladder/tours as of late and they've all performed fine for what I need. Starting up w/ my favorite of the trio - DRIVETUBE.


I like clicking priority spam, so I went and did just that. Major cope against opposing fires/elecs but it's a skill issue. You prolly already seen this on ladder over the last couple of weeks, so there's already proof this six is viable. Rest-talk keld b/c otherwise you auto lose into bish/weavile. This is primarily the six to punish offenses as very few offense teams can actually withstand the priority spam this six can provide. Rotom is a massive pain, so you'll need mew to wisp it and for lop to hjk spam so you can insta delete it off the map. Please keep in mind dnite is a hit or miss based on mus, and is here primarily to be our softest checks of soft checks to fires that otherwise maul us.


Prolly one of the few zard sixes I actually like out in the wild. It's as vanilla as you get, does fine enough. This team follows a similar premise to sand balance w/ the nuke of zard-y being thrown in. You almost never roost, and you really want all 4 attacks. You especially love bullying offensive structures whose ground is lando and launching powerful overheats is pure bliss. Ttar doesn't really need to be super offensive considering this is our moth check. Manaphy is how we don't autolose the fat mu as we otherwise will thud into it.


I like sand, I like dropping dracos. Mew provides a very rare luxury here I rarely see on this sort of style of sand team; aoa ttar. Ttar not having to worry about being strapped for moves makes it incredibly dangerous as a wallbreaker, being able to more aggressively play with pursuit. Kyurem black is here because otherwise we auto lose to rotom, although it's a very playable mu otherwise. Kyurem also has added benefits of being a manaphy soft check and a soft check to serperior which can cause problems for this six. It also bullies bulky waters + venusaur in particular. All in all, a fun sand team.

This is an offense I really, really like. So funny story but after last SPL, finch posted a bunch of "underrated sets" in BW and one was Custap Skarm. And I made this as a joke as sort of a play on that. But after thinking about it for a second, i realized the old BW Jelli-Skarm pairing really exploits a lot of mold drill offenses that I am not very fond of, so I made this. It really guarantees setup and manipulates the drill matchup. You do need to not autopilot leading skarm but the bait also pays dividends if you do it right! I played around with the ground for a bit, trying stuff like Nidoking at times since I really needed something that can switch in to Clef and Zapdos once, but realized that Diggersby, something I typically absolutely despise, fits perfectly. And it adds to a type overload with Lopunny - both of which threaten steels.

So its a setup/spikes spam offense with Healing Wish Lopunny. I've loved this team, given it to a few people and heard good stuff.

You can run this with a greedier item on Jellicent. The skarm isnt typical for custap... I have bulk and sustain on it for the sand matchups, but you can change that. But if you change Thund or Lop or Diggersby (unless its to some nutty SD stuff) you're trolling in my opinion. But you can make Diggersby fire punch or uturn on CB, i prefer uturn but eh

This is one I am really proud of too. Last fall I got in an experimental mood. Like the above one is an adaptation from BW in some ways, this is one from USUM! I went to tace and wanted some Zardy Cress balance like they love over there and wanted to adapt it. The Zard versions in gen 6 turned out sorta funky... but this came out of it.

The core concept is basically solving the age old problem of Venusaur's sustain vs sand or burn with Lunar Dance, while also forging a very, very strong defensive core into a lot of whats popular between it, Heatran, Cress itself, Drill and Torn. I am huge into multi-modal teams (something I really take from studying the VGC game), and theres a ton of ways you can play this depending on the matchup, which Manaphy plays a huge part in too. Manaphy also is a big tool defensively. You could probably run CM on this if u wanted. IDK

I made this during OUPL actually and we won without having to Lunar. Which is an intended mode too.

Real quick - the original of this I think is a sample team?? My apologies to the OG creator. But it has Thund-T over Weavile. We didn't think Thundurus T actually is super practical in terms of doing its job on paper (esp the volt blocking part, super volatile execution) and we wanted a better matchup into stuff like weav/bish/mold drill + pivot offense stuff, which Weavile very easily does. Also Weavile very simply threatens every electric, or can knock/chip the hell out of Rotom for Gyarados. So I thought to just.. do that. Also adds a dark stack for it.

Just posting this bc I think its a good example of sometimes like, the best thing to do is just add brokens and have a focus of being practical. This Weav is actually AoA life orb with Low Kick, which was great in the matchup though we didnt show it. So thats a quick one. Not trying to claim the team or whatever lol but its a good teaching point to me...

I just wanted to get one fun one down but this is somethign I made in WCOP. Just fun for the ladder. Sky really likes it, we actually almost used it. But its a lando-ferro boom offense focused on MMeta + Cube with offensive Starmie (something else I love) and talon.

The specific set is Specs Cube, something I've always thought is a diamond in the rough set. This paste uses a greedy Metagross. I like Mash sets here more generally. You can also run CB Cube, its much more volatile but it has its matchups. You can also put Boom on lando too. IDC
