#IAmNerd (Empoleon) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 212 HP / 252 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Flash Cannon
- Grass Knot

This thing hits pretty damn hard, with 111 Special Attack, good coverage, and Choice Specs. Hydro Pump hits hard as fuck boosted with Specs and can even 2HKO some of it's resists after Rocks, Ice Beam give coverage against Grass types, Flash Cannon hits Fairy types like Florges and Slurpuff, and Grass Knot allows Empoleon to hit Water types hard, OHKOing Swampert, 2HKOing Jellicent, etc. Overall, this is a really cool Water type wallbreaking set and I hope you like it!

252+ SpA Choice Specs Empoleon Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 12 SpD Jellicent: 306-360 (75.7 - 89.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Choice Specs Empoleon Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roserade: 276-326 (106.5 - 125.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Empoleon Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roserade: 126-149 (48.6 - 57.5%) -- 94.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Empoleon Grass Knot (80 BP) vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Feraligatr: 288-340 (92.6 - 109.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

Empoleon can make a great Stealth Rock setter for offensive teams since its powerful special coverage beats out a lot of common setters and hazard removers in UU. Empoleon's good matchups against Swampert, Forretress, Mega Aggron, Mega Blastoise, the Nidos (w/ Sash) and Gligar speak to this. With Focus Sash, it can get into Torrent mode easily and live powerful hits like Mamoswine's Earthquake, Mienshao's High Jump Kick and Infernape's Close Combat and KO right back, though Life Orb has some merit hitting useful marks like OHKOing lead Azelf after a burn with Scald, consistently 2HKOing Calm Florges with Flash Cannon or OHKOing Mega Aggron with Torrent Scald + burn or Hydro Pump.

Scald is generally the best Water STAB on this set since getting burns early game can be really nice and the burns break sashes, but Hydro Pump's power can make a difference, especially combined with Life Orb and Torrent. Ice Beam hits a large portion of Defoggers (Salamence, Zapdos, Mandibuzz, Crobat) for big damage, so it's generally optimal for the second slot. Flash Cannon is also good for Fairy-hunting though. Grass Knot is really good on this for Mega Blastoise, Swampert and Suicune in particular. Modest nature because Timid doesn't outspeed much that Empoleon really needs to beat.

Timid Nature

Just an offensive Empoleon with Agility here. With an Agility boost, it outpaces the entire non-scarfed/boosted tier and can then proceed to do massive damage with its stabs/coverage and a Life Orb. Shucca could be used as an alternative for easier set up, but you'll most likely appreciate having the extra damage from LO.

Simple set consisting of Swords Dance and 3 physical attacks including the Water STAB, Avalanche which has often a good base power and a good coverage and you can choose between a Water priority and the utility of Knock Off.

Almost the bottom of the barrel, but you can even go fully into Atk with a positive nature plus the ability Defiant which turns Intimidates/Sticky Webs/random stats from opponent's moves into a boost.

P.S. At least one of the sets posted above is already written in the Dex (section UU) here http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/empoleon/.

This set is meant to punish defoggers like crobat empoleon salamence. Emp is able to get the best of both worlds with being to take advantage of boosted knock given by defiant plus use its good spatk. I put this on a fross sable team and it worked wonders in hindering opposing hazard control. Knock does about 38-40 off first hit on emp. That may not seem like alot but it is a useful edge in those ever so common empoleon "im not gonna switch first" scald wars. Also you get the opportunity to run SR Scald and Knock Off on the same set, 3 of the best moves in the game haha

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Toxic

I love SubStatus sets, which I've noticed Water- and Steel-types tend to pull off well due to strong defensive typing and good 2-move coverage. Since Empoleon is the only Pokémon with both typings and has a very nice SpA stat, why not? This set gives stall and other balance teams a fit. Make a Substitute on a forced switch, or even on the several passive match-ups that like to stay in, like Florges passing a Wish or other Empoleon fishing for a Scald burn. From there, cripple the switch-in with Toxic or click the appropriate coverage move. Scald is Scald, the most consistent STAB move to use for keeping away Ground- and Fire-types, physical attackers, and opposing Empoleon. Ice Beam nails Gligar, Roserade, and Chesnaught, among others. Toxic cripples Umbreon, Mandibuzz, Florges, and other special walls that it can't break through. It is notable that Empoleon has great natural bulk and resists many walls' STAB attacks, meaning its Subs will remain intact from a Moonblast, Scald, or Psyshock.

The Speed EVs give Empoleon 210 Speed and let it outspeed basically every relevant wall, including standard Mandibuzz, Cresselia, Gligar, Suicune, and Taunt Chesnaught. Maximum SpA makes Empoleon's attacks dish out some serious damage, ripping chunks out of 'Mons that are weak to Water or Ice, OHKO'ing Entei with Scald after SR. The HP EVs actually put in a lot of work, making Subs sturdier, ensuring support Crobat's Brave Bird never breaks the Substitute, and standard Life Orb Roserade never OHKOs, even with Leaf Storm. This particular spread is advised because Empoleon beats all variants of Chesnaught and specially defensive Mandibuzz because it can hit Mandi with Ice Beam before the Roost, which has a high chance to 3HKO and stacks with Toxic, while Foul Play is only a possible 4HKO.

252+ SpA Empoleon Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Roserade: 186-220 (71.8 - 84.9%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes (think Life Orb recoil instead of Spikes)

252+ SpA Empoleon Ice Beam vs. 240 HP / 216+ SpD Mandibuzz: 148-176 (35.1 - 41.8%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (~80% to 3HKO without SR)

252+ SpA Empoleon Scald vs. 40 HP / 0 SpD Mega Aerodactyl: 270-318 (86.8 - 102.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Empoleon Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Crobat: 234-276 (62.7 - 73.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery (Scald does ~41-49%)

0 Atk Mandibuzz Foul Play vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Empoleon: 91-108 (28.5 - 33.8%) -- 97.8% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Crobat Brave Bird vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Empoleon: 66-78 (20.6 - 24.4%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Empoleon: 250-296 (78.3 - 92.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (EQ is very rare, and the even rarer Adamant EQ is only a 1/8 chance to OHKO)

this powerful porcupine holds its place in the uu tier as a reliable spiker. Chesnaughts massive physical defense and uncommon typing gives it a unique niche within the uu tier. Submissions end Wednesday at 8pm est.

I know Empoleon's week is over, but minor detail re: GULLY's set: Defiant and Defog are illegal together. The set still works fine with Stealth Rock, though (and I think someone used a similar set during last year's SPL IIRC).

Chesnaught @ Leftovers / Salac Berry
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 172 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Wood Hammer
- Drain Punch
- Stone Edge / Substitute

Swords Dance Chesnaught

This set, if used correctly, can demolish bulkier teams really easily. Chesnaught is already really powerful, but with a Swords Dance up, not much wants to take a hit from it. Chesnaught actually has a good amount of set-up opputunities, as it forces a lot of switches, mostly on bulky Waters, but also a lot of other typings, like Ground and Steel, allowing it to set up. With a Swords Dance up, it can perform magnificent feats such as 2HKOing Max Defensive Cresselia with Wood Hammer! The moveset is pretty simple, with the dual Grass/Fighting STAB combo in Wood Hammer, Chesnaught's nuking move, Drain Punch for recovery, and the last slot if up to you, Stone Edge allows coverage against Crobat and other Flying types, but Substitute protects you from status and if you go for Salac Berry, makes it activate faster. Overall, while this set definetely needs support like Webs to make it work correctly, it can become a big threat to defensive slower teams within a moment's notice thanks to Chesnaught's ability to force switches.

+2 252+ Atk Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Cresselia: 238-282 (53.7 - 63.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252+ Atk Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 232 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 626-738 (118.3 - 139.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Chesnaught @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Spiky Shield
- Leech Seed
- Drain Punch

Chesnaught is usually a really annoying mon to deal with, and Toxic just makes it even more of a pest. When your opponent is being Toxic stalled while taking damage on the Spiky Shield, from Leech Seed, from Drain Punch, and from Rocky Helmet if you so choose, it won't be too long before he drops.

Stallbreaker Chesnaught
Chesnaught @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Impish Nature
-Super Fang
-Taunt
-Leech Seed
-Spikes

Stallbreaker Chesnaught works like somewhat like regular Chesnaught. You still lay Spikes and spread Leech Seeds to stay healthy. But, Super Fang + Taunt lets you break down slower bulky mons or force them to recover if they're faster than you. Slower mons like Empoleon, Gligar (which this spread creeps), Umbreon, Snorlax etc are slowly whittled by Super Fang + Leech Seed while also being denied recovery or defog from Taunt.

Chesnaught @ Life Orb
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Def / 224 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Drain Punch
- Spikes
- Stone Edge / Earthquake

Forgive the Mario reference. Yeah, Chesnaught can pull off an offensive utility set. 107 base Atk backed by a Life Orb hits pretty damn hard, which catches a lot of foes off guard. Wood Hammer especially, well, hammers non-resistant Pokémon and, despite heavy recoil, is Chesnaught's most powerful STAB move. That's where Drain Punch comes in, offering complementary STAB coverage and keeping Chesnaught from being worn down too quickly from Life Orb and Wood Hammer recoil and healthy enough to still check some threats it usually does. Now Drain Punch also has enough power to make quick work of Umbreon. What makes this set really special though is Spikes, taking advantage of the expected physical bulk and then its offensive presence when the set is revealed; Spikes really carves Chesnaught's niche. Coverage is rounded out in the last slot, with Stone Edge being the better choice in general for hitting Flying-types and keeping them from Defogging Spikes away. Honchkrow and offensive Crobat are OHKO'ed, while support Crobat and MegaDactyl are always OHKO'ed after Stealth Rock (almost 70% chance without). Still, Earthquake now has some merit to 2HKO Metagross, hit the Nidos and Tentacruel a bit harder without lots of recoil, OHKO Toxicroak on the switch (Wood Hammer does 2HKO), and to actually damage Doublade decently.

The spread given outspeeds max speed neutral Empoleon and Swampert before Mega Evolving and minimizes Life Orb recoil while maximizing power. If using Stone Edge, a Jolly nature can be used to lure in and outspeed to KO Honchkrow after setting up a free layer of Spikes as it switches in. Jolly Chesnaught also outspeeds Jolly Swampert before it goes Mega and Adamant MegaPert outside of rain.

252+ Atk Life Orb Chesnaught Wood Hammer vs. 240 HP / 244+ Def Tentacruel: 231-274 (63.9 - 75.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

252+ Atk Life Orb Chesnaught Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 244-291 (75.3 - 89.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (similar damage for Umbreon)

252+ Atk Life Orb Chesnaught Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mandibuzz: 263-309 (62.1 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (71.6% or more is guaranteed to be in Drain Punch range after Lefties)

252+ Atk Life Orb Chesnaught Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Metagross: 218-257 (59.8 - 70.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

And Chesnaught can still check a lot of what it usually checks, like non-Ice Punch Gatr.

+2 252 Atk Cobalion Close Combat vs. 8 HP / 24 Def Chesnaught: 252-297 (78.9 - 93.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock (Drain Punch OHKOs Cobalion at -1)

Chesnaught @ Salac Berry
Ability: Overgrow/Bulletproof
EVs: 12 Hp / 244 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Belly Drum
- Seed Bomb
- Drain Punch/Stone Edge

This is Belly Drum Chesnaught. It is meant to clean up at the end of a match when most scarfers, priority and faster mons are dead. Salac Berry along with Evs allows Chesnaught to outspeed anything up to Spe+ base 120s at +1 speed. The Hp Evs are to hit the salac berry range after a substitute and a belly drum. For the ability either one is usable as bulletproof provides protection, but I believe Overgrow to be preferred as Chesnaught will be in range for the boost after a sub and belly drum, however while running overgrow, you may want to run stone edge over drain punch so you can avoid getting back out of overgrow range. The moveset is pretty self explanatory. Belly drum is to get to +6 attack, substitute is for protection and to get into Salac range, seed bomb is chesnaught's strongest physical grass stab without recoil and hits as hard as wood hammer in overgrow, and the final move is a toss up between drain punch which helps for being an additional stab with recovery or stone edge which helps avoid getting out of overgrow, hits flying types better, and helps with general coverage. Sorry I can't add calcs or a cool picture like everyone else mostly because I'm lazy because I'm on mobile and on vacation, but I honestly made this post because I was disappointed nobody did this set earlier and because the lines here are long. Anyways thanks for looking at the set.
