Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Every Pokemon on your team has access to all of the moves and abilities abilities of the first Pokemon in your teamslot, but you lose access to your own movepool and abilities.
If hax can happen, it will happen: any move with a chance to miss will miss; every move that hits will crit; and every move with a secondary effect activates that effect.
The first three slots and last three slots in a team are separate "halves." Right before the match, one half is randomly selected. The Pokemon in that half become a part of your opponent's team, and vice versa.
When a Pokemon faints, the opposing Pokemon replaces its current ability with the fainted Pokemon's and gains its last-used move in a new slot. These changes last the entire match. If a Pokemon faints before using a move during the match, no move is gained by the opponent.
