Scizor
(M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Pursuit

I got into this habit of starting teams with Aerodactyl, and never really played Scizor all that much. So I figured I'd bust him out as an opener for some early damage. I went Focus Sash over everything else since most of what I'll face as an opener is going to be doing the same, and I didn't want to completely waste him on the likes of an Azelf who might melt me straight up instead of laying rocks. Funnily enough, the first match I played had an Azelf opener. It worked well since they used SR first, while I U-Turned and brought out Blastoise (who has been replaced by Tentacruel) to put it away with a rapid spin.

Anyway, Sciz gets the ball rolling, and is one of my two allocated all-out attackers.

Weavile (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 40 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brick Break
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit
- Ice Punch

Revenge killer. Word.

Latias
(F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Surf

Basically where this team started. I never used Latias before (been away for a while and saw that she had been moved to OU). I liked the versatility on offer, but this was also a pain for my intense procrastative personality. The original plan was to team this with Cresselia to form a strong defensive core, and plot my attacking team from there. Eventually I dropped Cressy from the team (*horror!*) and took Latias down the more offensive path.

Zapdos
@ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]

This bird is the real work... bird of the team. Everyone knows what Zappy is capable of, so I don't need to explain it too much. I went for a physically defensive layout to make things even: 2 attackers (Scizor and Weavile), 2 sturdy attackers (Latias (specially defensive) and Zapdos (physically defensive)), 2 support (Tentacruel (specailly defensive) and Celebi (physically defensive)).

Spr_4p_130_m.png
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

---

Spr_4d_488.png
Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Charge Beam
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight

Notes:
- Former members: Tentacruel, Celebi

OU Threat List (stolen from somebody else)

Azelf - Scizor can put it on the verge of death in the opening, outpace and damage with Bullet Punch; Weavile; Latias.

Breloom - I always checkmate myself against this thing. Fail.

Celebi
- Zapdos' Heat Wave; Scizor's U-Turn; Weavile?

Dugtrio
- Latias

Electivire
- Celebi

Empoleon - Celebi can Earth Power it, just watch for ice moves.

(Getting tired, I'll edit the rest later... plus I have to update)

Currently , many offensive teams don't carry Pokemon affected by Toxic Spikes which is your only entry hazard.

Also , why Focus Sash and Roost on Scizor? If your Sash is deactivated , you probably wouldn't get to Roost again. Also , i'd recommend you change your Scizor to a Choice banded one and scrap Weavile.

It makes a excellent Salamence killer BUT you need Stealth Rocks to deal with much more threats.
Scizor usually does the Job as a Choice Band-er better,it really just gives all the reason to use and removing weavile.

So , I'd recommend as your replacement for Weavile,
i_swampert.gif

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Roar / Surf
- Stealth Rock

It can take +1 Life Orb Outrage from Salamence and killing it with Ice Beam.
It also sets up Stealth Rocks for your team.

Also , i'd suggest you use Swampert as a lead.
If you do , you can also try Protect to protect against predicted Explosions.

Also , many of your Pokes are Pursuit Bait for Tyranitar. (Namely Tentacruel, Celebi , Zapdos and Latias.) Even a + 1 Surf from Latias can't touch it .

With only Scizor and Weavile the only ones capable of revenge killling it.Swampert comes in mind , acting as a excellent counter to CB Tar being
able to withstand 3 Crunches from a Max Attack CB Tar before fainting ( IIRC)

If you do not like the idea of Swampert , you can also try
450-m.png

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off

You team might not enjoy Sandstorm but , it has the defenses to take Outrages and Crunches from Salamence and Tyranitar better.
Also Hippowdon can do better against MixMence ( Surviving the Predicted Draco Meteor and then Slacking off . )

Now , Salamence at -2 SpA wouldn't touch you :)

If you did the changes i've recommended then ,with Stealth Rocks, Dealing with many of the current Metagame's threats is much more easier now.

also, please done use a CB weavile. ice and dark are horrible attack types to be locked into, as it is just asking for infernape, scizor, lucario, metagross to set up on you. maybe try a life orb in place of SC or use a different pursuiter, such as tyranitar or metagross

Just a suggestion: I used CB Scizor for a long time as my lead to great success. Try banding that Scizor if you get sick of the sash. :O

First of all, DDMence rips holes in this team if Weavile dies (and he will). Let's fix that.

It's not your fault you can't do Tentacruel justice. He's not suited for your style of team, as he usually belongs on stall teams. Take him out and put in a Cresselia w/ Ice Beam. You don't need a spinner w/ only 2 pokes SR weak (1 after my suggestions). This will let you counter Mence and screw over Gyara, as well as providing team support.

Cresselia
(F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/ 128 Def/128 SDef

Bold nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave/Charge Beam

Put Stealth Rock on Celebi (you can keep Scizor as a lead).
__________________
Celebi
@ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/ 128 Def/28 SDef

Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave/Light Screen
- Recover
- Grass Knot
- Stealth Rock

CB Weavile's glory days are over with Garchomp gone. Use a Life Orb or use a Heatran. Your team isn't EQ weak anyways. In fact, Heatran works better with Celebi and Scizor, so I recommend you use a Heatran for the fire immunity.
___________________
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass/Ice]
- Explosion

______________

It's not subtle or surprising like Subtran. But there's a reason that Scarftran is the revered revenge killer that he is.

Superpower>Roost on Scizor, it lets you beat up on a lead Heatran.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

mtr12, you reminded me of exactly why I had Cresselia in there originally: To do exactly as you mentioned (ie. Counter Mence and screw Gyarados). I didn't realise what I'd lost until you pointed it out, so I've swapped back.

Tentacruel ->
Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Charge Beam
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight

Since I never used Gyarados much I put him in over Celebi.

Celebi ->
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

I used that set up so he can be a status absorber, but I don't know if it's the best option here.

I'm yet to play with the Heatran switch, but looking at it I like what I see. I'd probably like to use Dark Pulse on there. Took the suggestion to switch Weavile to a Life Orb for the time being.
